Abstract

The development of advertising is currently growing rapidly in line with technological developments that are increasingly unstoppable. Indeed, advertising is a medium used by a company or business entity to promote goods or services that have a persuasive language and have an ideology of capitalism. However, currently there are several advertisements that do not use persuading language, but want to incorporate elements of capitalism, such as the Djarum 76 ad that will be discussed in this study. This research will describe the ideology of capitalism in the Djarum 76 cigarette advertisement edition of Wani Piro. The research method used is the Norman Fairclough model of critical discourse analysis. The object or data in this study is the oral discourse contained in the Djarum 76 cigarette advertisement edition of Wani Piro. The technique in collecting data is done by documentation technique sourced from YouTube. In the data analysis activities in accordance with the Norman Fairclough model there are three steps of analysis namely, analysis at the level of the text, discourse practices, and socio-cultural practices. Data validity is done by member checking and expert discourse test. The results of this study indicate that the words used are more unique and funny words, and the Djarum 76 advertisement is packaged with a form of critical discourse as if concerned with the social conditions of the community. However, behind the critical discourse that is used, veiled an ideology that is capitalism in accordance with the purpose of an advertisement that is looking for profit from the product being promoted.

Abstract

Student worksheets (LKS) so far are still textual so students still have difficulty understanding the contents of the text they learn. For this reason, contextual worksheets are needed so that students are expected to understand the material and assignments they will be doing because students have initial concepts about the text to be read. This study aims to produce worksheets on writing material for scientific work proposals based on contextual grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Lubuklinggau. This research is a type of research development or Research and Development (R&D). Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, questionnaires, and tests. While the data analysis techniques in this study are the validity test and reliability test using SPSS version 20. The results of the study show that the Worksheet for Writing Contextual Scientific Work Proposals is effective in increasing students' learning abilities so that they can be used as teaching materials in schools. This is evidenced by the validity of LKS writing contextual-based scientific work proposals classified in the good category with a percentage of 79.80%. Furthermore, the practicality of LKS gained 85.4% with a very positive category. The effectiveness of LKS writing scientific paper proposals seen from the average post-test score is better than the pre-test average value of 81.52 greater than 57.45. Based on the results of the paired samples test output the average value before and after was 24.06 with Sig (2-tailed) of 0.00 (smaller than the alpha value). Thus, there are significant differences between before and after using LKS writing contextual based scientific work proposals.

Abstract

The student worksheets (LKS) used so far are still textual without regard to the local wisdom where students live. For this reason, it is necessary to develop LKS based on local wisdom so that students are more motivated to learn and understand teaching material. This study aims to describe the feasibility of developing worksheets on the material demonstrating the play of scripts based on local wisdom of class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Unggulan Lubuklinggau seen from the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The research method used is Dick & Carey's Research and Development (R&D) model. Data collection techniques using interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The test results were analyzed by paired sample t-test with SPSS version 16. This research has produced a new product in the form of LKS on the material demonstrating a valid, practical and effective local wisdom based script so that it is suitable to be used. Based on the calculation results show that the t-test is greater than 3.648, 1.697, then it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Test results on the paired samples test output indicate that the value of sig. is 0,000 smaller 0.05 so Ho is rejected. So, there is a significant difference between the values ​​before and after using teaching materials to demonstrate LKS scripts based on local wisdom

Abstract

Student worksheets (LKS) especially in writing persuasion text material used by teachers are still oriented to the text so students have difficulty understanding the material contextually. For this reason, this study aims to develop worksheets for writing contextual persuasion texts based on students of Class VIII at SMP Ar-Risalah Lubuklinggau. This research is a type of Research and Development (R&D) research using the Dick & Carey model. Data collection techniques using interview techniques, questionnaires, and tests. Data analysis techniques for effectiveness testing using SPSS version 20. The results of the study show that LKS writes contextual persuasion text based on Students of Class VIII at SMP Ar-Risalah Lubuklinggau which are developed valid, practical, and effective so that it is appropriate to be used by Indonesian language teachers as one of the teaching materials to achieve the objectives learning to write persuasive texts. Then, the results of the product effectiveness test showed that the use of LKS writing contextual persuasion text writing was able to improve students' persuasion writing skills.

Abstract

A good novel has a meaning in life that is beneficial for its readers. For this reason, it is important to study the meaning of life, especially the meaning of success. The purpose of this study was to describe the meaning of life contained in the novel Alang: Hidup Tak Pernah Memberi Bahu untuk Bersandar by Desi Puspitasari. The research method uses the Hermeneutic Paul Riceour method. Data collection techniques using documentation techniques in the form of the novel Alang: Hidup Tak Pernah Memberi Bahu untuk Bersandar by Desi Puspitasari. Data validity test uses hermeneutic expert validation. The results show that the meaning in the novel Alang: Hidup Tak Pernah Memberi Bahu untuk Bersandar by Desi Pupitasari work is success that determines who we are, other factors such as family and friends have very little influence.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in the ability to write deductive and inductive paragraphs in class X IPS 4 students of SMA Negeri 1 Kepahiang 2018/2019 academic year by using the learning model of the type of picture and picture. The research method used is the classroom action research method. This research was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four steps: planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. Data collection techniques using test, observation, and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques by analyzing test data, analyzing teacher and student observation data, analyzing learning documentation, and testing the action hypothesis. Test the validity of the data using triangulation of data sources. The application of the picture and picture type learning model can improve students' understanding and motivation in doing the steps of writing paragraphs so that students are able to write deductive and inductive paragraphs. An increase in the average value of the ability to write deductive and inductive paragraphs by 10.91 points from cycle 1 to cycle 2, namely the average value in cycle 1 of 66.12 increased to 77.03 in cycle 2. For that reason, the learning model of the picture and picture type can used by Indonesian teachers to provide motivation and understanding to students in developing paragraph writing skills.

Abstract

Learning to write description texts is carried out by Indonesian language teachers with a variety of strategies. The strategy used by the teacher aims to achieve the learning objectives of students being able to write description texts well. For this reason, explanations are needed regarding the implementation of writing description texts, especially for students of class VII.1 MTs Negeri 2 Kaur. The research method used was descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Test the validity of the data using triangulation of data sources. The results showed that the implementation of Indonesian language learning material to write a description text for grade VII.1 MTs Negeri 2 Kaur students was good enough. The teacher has used a scientific approach that is observing, asking, exploring, associating, and communicating. Learning activities carried out in three stages: first, preliminary activities, the teacher makes apperception, motivation, and delivery of learning objectives. Second, the core activity of learning, the teacher invites students to understand the notion of descriptive text, identify the structure of the text, and correct errors in the use of punctuation / spelling. Third, the closing activity, the teacher concludes the learning material by involving students in order to know the students' abilities during the learning process. The learning steps taken by the teacher are in accordance with what is written in the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP).

Abstract

The availability of books related to the Indonesian Language Use Analysis course at the university level is still very few. This is proven by the circulation of books related to the Indonesian Language Usage Analysis course which is not available in the market or books based on e-books on the internet. For this reason, more understanding of the material is needed to be able to master learning outcomes. To achieve this, you can't just rely on the lecturer's explanation. Support is needed from learning resources that can be used for independent study. Moreover, each student has different speed and grasping power, however, teaching materials that can be used independently by students are not yet available. In order to achieve the ultimate goal of this course, teaching materials are needed that are in accordance with the needs of students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program STKIP PGRI Lubuklinggau. The required teaching materials are expected based on the linguistic symptoms found in the research. The results of the validity test conducted on three experts showed that the Indonesian Language Usage Analysis module was valid with the hallmark of the module being a module that was developed with the presentation of interactions (stimulus and response). The results of the practicality test based on the prototype test which includes one to one evaluation, small group evaluation and large group evaluation, it can be concluded that the Indonesian Language Usage Analysis module is effectively used in the lecture process. At the formative test stage, it can be concluded that students can understand the material well after using the Indonesian Language Usage Analysis module.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form and meaning of implicatures in Miss Dakem Karawang's humor. The type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subject of this research is the humorous utterances of Miss Dakem Karawang. Meanwhile, the object of this research is the form and meaning of implicature in Miss Dakem Karawang's humor. This research data collection was carried out by means of documentation, namely listening techniques, noting important things using data tables. This technique is done by listening carefully to a speech in the Miss Dakem Karawang humor video. Miss Dakem Karawang humor has 1 form of implicature and produces 9 conversational utterances. As for the meaning of implicature in this study, there are 5 meanings, namely, assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative, there are 12 conversational utterances containing implicature meaning in Miss Dakem Karawang. The results of this study are expected to be used as teaching materials for anecdotal texts in the form of handouts.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the results of the analysis of politeness in the language of the animated film Nussa and Rara regarding the principles of politeness. The subject of this research was the animated film Nussa and Rara. Meanwhile, the object in this study is the form of speech that contains language politeness and analyzes the indicators of the maxim of politeness in language which are suspected of having compliance and violating the principles of language politeness as conveyed by Leech. The type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection of this research was carried out using the look method. The listening technique used is listening to the language used by speakers to study the language, then using an advanced technique, namely the free-engage-talk listening technique, meaning that the researcher only acts as an observer of language use. The results showed that most of the speeches contained in the animated film Nussa and Rara contain the principles of politeness in language, both the maxim of generosity, maxim of consensus, maxim of wisdom, maxim of appreciation, maxim of sympathy, maxim of simplicity. However, there is also 1 utterance that violates the maxim of consensus, 2 utterances that violates the maxim of simplicity, and 1 utterance that violates the maxim of generosity. The results of the analysis of the animated film Nussa and Rara will be used as teaching materials in schools in learning politeness in high school language class XII in the language specialization class.
