Abstract

Background: Academic success is often perceived as a source of pride, but for some students, it can lead to increased pressure. These individuals tend to attribute their success to external factors rather than their own abilities, a phenomenon known as impostor phenomenon. Purpose: This study aims to translate the Impostor-Profile 30 for measuring the impostor phenomenon, into Indonesian using a double translation procedure, as well as to collect content validity evidence and response process validity through expert evaluation and cognitive interviews. Method: The adaptation process of the measurement tool of the IPP30 followed the guidelines of the International Test Commission up to the development stage, which is the second phase after the pre-condition. The development stage included: 1) translation using the forward-backward translation method, 2) collection of content validity evidence through expert evaluations, and 3) collection of response process validity evidence through cognitive interviews with eligible participants. Findings: The results demonstrated that the Indonesian version of IPP30 possesses both content validity and response process validity, supporting its use to measure the impostor phenomenon in Indonesia. The validity evidence obtained serves as an initial foundation for testing this scale on a larger sample to verify its psychometric properties. Implication: This study represents an initial validation step to provide a measurement tool that can be used to assess the impostor phenomenon, which can be beneficial for related research in Indonesia.

Abstract

Background: During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022, a preliminary investigation revealed an increase in untreated anxiety symptoms among young people living in rural Bali. The isolation, economic uncertainty, and other stressors exacerbated mental health issues, particularly anxiety, making it imperative to develop accessible interventions. Brief-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (B-CBT) is widely recognized as an effective treatment for anxiety disorders, yet its accessibility remains limited in rural areas, where mental health resources are scarce. Purpose: This study aimed to develop and evaluate the feasibility of a mobile-based intervention, Mobile Brief-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MB-CBT), designed to help young adults in rural Bali manage and reduce anxiety symptoms. The objective was to assess the usability, effectiveness, and community acceptance of the MB-CBT prototype. Method: A mixed-methods approach was employed to test the feasibility and usability of the MB-CBT prototype. Quantitative assessments included the System Usability Scale (SUS) and pre- and post-intervention measures of anxiety and stress using the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS). Content validation was performed through semi-structured interviews with participants to assess the relevance and clarity of the app’s content. Findings: The MB-CBT intervention significantly reduced anxiety (p≤0.002) and perceived stress (p≤0.000) among participants. The System Usability Scale (SUS) score was 74.5, indicating good usability and high community acceptance. Content validation through interviews indicated that participants found the app’s content highly relevant and user-friendly, with a very good level of content validity. Implication: The findings suggest that MB-CBT is an effective and feasible tool for addressing anxiety and stress in young adults in rural Bali. The high usability score and positive content validation support the potential for expanding such digital mental health interventions to other underserved rural areas. Healthcare providers should consider integrating mobile-based CBT into mental health programs for young adults in rural settings to address the increasing need for accessible mental health resources.

Abstract

Background: Adolescence can bring emotional and behavioral disorders, leading some teenagers to involved in juvenile delinquency or exhibited suicidal behavior. One of the contributing factors was the lack of optimism among individual. Purpose: This research aims to examine the validity of the optimism scale among adolescent. Method: A quantitative approach using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was employed to evaluate the scale’s validity and reliability. The instrument used was the Optimism Scale from Seligman (2006), which has three dimensions (permanence, pervasiveness, personalization) and 48 items. The study involved 352 female public high school students selected through purposive sampling. Findings: The initial tests revealed that 10 items had standardized loading estimates below 0.5, rendering them invalid and prompting their removal. The remaining 38 items were retested, and all demonstrated standardized loading estimates exceeding 0.5, confirming their validity. The Composite Reliability (CR) value was above 0.7, and the Average Variance Extracted (AVE) exceeded 0.5, indicating reliability. Goodness-of-fit criteria showed strong results across five measures (Chi-square, Prob., RMSEA, CMIN/DF, and TLI), while one criterion indicated marginal fit (GFI). The conclusion is that the Optimism Scale has proven to be valid and reliable. Implication: This valid and reliable optimism scale can support further studies on female public high school adolescents in Semarang.

Abstract

Background: Job satisfaction among civil servants is crucial in improving their public services. Job satisfaction could be enhanced by organizational learning. However, hierarchical cultures can have a positive influence on these processes. Therefore, it is crucial to examine the role of hierarchical culture in shaping the effectiveness of organizational learning to improve job satisfaction.Purpose: This study examines the moderating role of hierarchical culture in the relationship between organizational learning and job satisfaction among civil servants.Method: 203 civil servants participated in an online survey using the Organizational Learning Scale (α=0.90), the Job Satisfaction Scale (α=0.94), and the Hierarchical Culture Scale (α=0.78). Data analysis was conducted using PROCESS.Findings: The results show that organizational learning has a positive and significant relationship with job satisfaction (b = 0.4829, t = 4.3755, p < 0.001). However, the moderating role of hierarchical culture in the relationship between organizational learning and job satisfaction is not significant (b = -0.0380, t = -1.4777, p > 0.005).Implication: This suggests that hierarchical culture neither strengthens nor weakens the relationship between organizational learning and job satisfaction. Internal factors are the primary determinants of job satisfaction for civil servants, regardless of the hierarchical culture in government institutions.
