Abstract

Background: Emotional fatigue is a growing concern among academics, with over 50% of lecturers in Indonesia experiencing emotional exhaustion. Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Berbadan Hukum (PTN-BH) face high autonomy along with heavy tridarma responsibilities and performance pressures, often without adequate financial or emotional support. Research focusing specifically on PTN-BH lecturers remains limited.Purpose: To examine work-related stressors—workload, interpersonal relationships, and change-related communication—that contribute to emotional exhaustion among PTN-BH lecturers, using the Job Demands Resources theory (55.9% female; Mage = 42.54; SDage = 10.6).Method: A cross-sectional survey was conducted involving 306 PTN-BH lecturers in Indonesia (55.9% female; Mage = 42.54; SDage = 10.6). Data were analyzed using moderated multiple regression in IBM SPSS version 25.Findings: Workload and change-related communication showed significant effects on emotional exhaustion. In contrast, interpersonal relationships and the moderating role of self-leadership were not statistically significant.Implication: Addressing excessive workload and improving communication during organizational changes are essential to reduce emotional exhaustion and promote well-being among PTN-BH lecturers.

Abstract

Background: The accurate assessment of cognitive ability requires valid data, particularly among older adults. Non-credible performance, or symptom exaggeration, threatens the validity of neuropsychological assessments in Indonesia. Purpose: This study aims to examine the diagnostic accuracy of four Performance Validity Tests (PVTs) by comparing healthy older adults and individuals simulating cognitive impairment. Method: An experimental two-group design was used (N=25). Participants passed rigorous cognitive screening (MoCA > 26) and were randomly assigned to a control (n=12) or experimental (n=13) group. PVTs included NV-MSVT, TMJPI, CIHT, and embedded TMT measures. Findings: Mann-Whitney U tests showed significant differences (p< .05) between groups, with controls outperforming simulators. ROC analysis yielded optimal cut-off scores for all PVTs: NV-MSVT A1 (≤ 83), NV-MSVT A2 (≤ 79), TMJPI (≤ 87), CIHT (≤ 9), TMT-A (≥ 131), and TMT-B (≥ 200). AUC values ranged from .713 to .907, indicating good to excellent accuracy in distinguishing the groups. Implication: These findings establish a robust empirical foundation for more ethical and valid neuropsychological research in Indonesia, providing culturally relevant cut-offs to mitigate misdiagnosis in clinical practice, advance cross-cultural neuropsychology in Asia, and strengthen administrative and forensic decision-making.

Abstract

Background: Increasing popularity of personality research on facet level, followed by instrument developments such as IPIP-NEO, that freely usable and modifiable measures. Research using the IPIP-NEO instrument is often conducted in Indonesia.Purpose: This study aims to analyze the quality of items and develop a short version of the IPIP-NEO-300 for Indonesian samples that measures thirty facets within Big Five personality domains. The processes undertaken in this study include item analysis using the Rasch Model, the development of a shorter scale, and validation of this shortened version.Method: The total subjects in this research is 759 people with an age range of 11-46 years. The sampling technique used for subject selection is convenience sampling, and data collection was carried out online using google forms.Findings: These results indicate that IPIP-NEO 300 and IPIP-NEO 90 are psychometrically acceptable and practically convenient for measuring Big Five Personality on the facet level. IPIP-NEO short version 90 has a high correlation with IPIP-NEO 300, which means that IPIP-NEO short version can be used to measure personality in Indonesian samples.Implication: The results of this study can enrich the psychometric literature in Indonesia and provide a basis for more specific and contextual personality research.

Abstract

Background: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is closely linked to environmental conditions and human behavior. In highland areas, geography, knowledge, and community values influence clean and healthy living practices. However, actual behavior in the field does not always match the level of understanding.Purpose: To analyze the effect of knowledge and DHF risk on healthy house conditions as a representation of healthy living behavior in a highland village community.Method: An observational analytical study with a cross-sectional design involving 335 respondents selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS).Findings: Although 86.6% of respondents had good knowledge about healthy houses, only 52.5% lived in healthy house conditions. Knowledge significantly influenced healthy house conditions directly (t=3.214) and indirectly through DHF risk (t=2.771). DHF risk also had a significant effect (t=2.260). Demographic factors (education, occupation, gender) showed no significant influence. Field observations indicated generally good waste management, though gaps remained between knowledge and practice.Implication: Community knowledge is essential but insufficient alone. Community-based interventions and empowerment initiatives are needed to strengthen sustainable healthy living behaviors and support DHF prevention

Abstract

Background: Young workers represent an important phenomenon in the current labour market, particularly due to a noticeable shift from organizationally based career choices toward professionally oriented career paths. This shift often leads to instability, as many young workers tend to leave unsuitable career paths or remain unemployed while waiting for opportunities that match their aspirations, a condition that may potentially increase unemployment and poverty rates.Purpose: This study aimed to identify the main psychological elements that contribute to career success among young workers.Method: The research was conducted in two phases. Study 1 employed qualitative interviews with four young workers to explore their subjective experiences of career success. Study 2 utilized a quantitative survey with 148 young worker respondents, applying descriptive and inferential analysis to validate the identified elements.Findings: The results revealed that career meaning plays the most dominant role in determining career success among young workers, followed by work–life balance and psychological safety. These findings highlight the salience of internal psychological factors rather than external conditions.Implication: The study suggests that fostering meaningful careers, promoting balance between personal and professional life, and ensuring psychological safety are essential strategies to enhance career success for young workers, with potential contributions to reducing unemployment and poverty levels among educated youth.
