Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of interest in learning on the learning outcomes of grade IV students in mathematics subjects. This research is a type of quantitative research with ex-post facto methods. The instruments used are observation sheets and interview sheets for pre-research then for research, namely questionnaire sheets, test sheets and documentation. The sample in this study was grade IV students of Al-Maraghy with a total of 36 students. The data analysis techniques used are normality test, linearity test as an analysis prerequisite test, simple linear regression test as a hypothesis test. The results showed that there was a positive and significant influence between learning interest on the learning outcomes of grade IV students in mathematics subjects with the influence of learning interest on learning outcomes by 12.1% and 87.9% influenced by other variables that were not studied.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of using interactive learning videos in increasing students' activeness and motivation in mathematics. Student activeness and motivation are important factors in the teaching and learning process, especially in the context of mathematics education which is often considered challenging. The method used in this study is a literature review, with an analysis of 23 relevant research articles published between 2022 and 2024. The articles obtained were searched on the Google database and used publish or perish. The results of the study indicate that several studies have proven that interactive learning videos can increase student participation in class discussions and collaboration in group activities. Students who use this media feel more involved and enthusiastic in following lessons, which has a positive impact on understanding abstract mathematical concepts. In addition, interesting learning videos can create a fun learning atmosphere, so that students are more motivated to learn. This finding is in line with the opinions of previous researchers who stated that the use of technology in learning can increase student engagement. The main conclusion of this study is that the integration of interactive learning videos is an effective strategy to create a dynamic learning atmosphere and increase student motivation and activeness in learning mathematics. Therefore, it is recommended for educators to apply this method in the learning process in order to achieve better results and meet students' needs in understanding mathematics materials more deeply. Thus, this study provides an important contribution to the development of innovative and relevant learning methods in today's digital era, as well as opening up opportunities for further research on the use of technology in education. Inovasi Pembelajaran Matematika : Video Pembelajaran Interaktif Untuk Meningkatkan Keaktifan dan Motivasi Belajar SiswaABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi efektivitas penggunaan video pembelajaran interaktif dalam meningkatkan keaktifan dan motivasi belajar siswa di mata pelajaran matematika. Keaktifan dan motivasi siswa menjadi faktor penting dalam proses belajar mengajar, terutama dalam konteks pendidikan matematika yang sering dianggap menantang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kajian studi literatur, dengan analisis terhadap 23 artikel penelitian yang relevan yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2022 hingga 2024. Artikel yang diperoleh dilakukan pencarian pada google database dan penggunaan publish or perish. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa beberapa penelitian sudah membuktikan bahwa video pembelajaran interaktif dapat meningkatkan partisipasi siswa dalam diskusi kelas dan kolaborasi dalam kegiatan kelompok. Siswa yang menggunakan media ini merasa lebih terlibat dan bersemangat dalam mengikuti pelajaran, yang berdampak positif pada pemahaman konsep-konsep matematika yang abstrak. Selain itu, video pembelajaran yang menarik dapat menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan, sehingga siswa lebih termotivasi untuk belajar. Temuan ini sejalan dengan pendapat para peneliti sebelumnya yang menyatakan bahwa penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa. Simpulan utama dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa integrasi video pembelajaran interaktif merupakan strategi yang efektif untuk menciptakan suasana belajar yang dinamis dan meningkatkan motivasi serta keaktifan siswa dalam belajar matematika. Oleh karena itu, disarankan bagi pendidik untuk menerapkan metode ini dalam proses pembelajaran guna mencapai hasil yang lebih baik dan memenuhi kebutuhan siswa dalam memahami materi matematika secara lebih mendalam. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting bagi pengembangan metode pembelajaran yang inovatif dan relevan dalam era digital saat ini, serta membuka peluang untuk penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai penggunaan teknologi dalam pendidikan.Kata Kunci : video interaktif; motivasi; keaktifan; inovasi pembelajaran

Abstract

The low interest of students in learning mathematics makes teachers have to innovate in developing a media that can motivate students in participating in mathematics learning. This study aims to develop flipbook learning media to increase students' interest in learning the material of lines and angles with the criteria of feasible, practical, and effective. The research method used is the Research and Development method which refers to the 4-D model which is modified only to the Develop stage, namely Define, Design, Develop, and Desseminate. The subjects of the study were students of class VIIB of SMP Negeri 9 Pontianak. The results of the study obtained were the results of media expert validation of 82.96% and material expert 90.62% with the category of feasible to use. The results of the student response rate were 80.21% and teachers 92.65% with the category of practical to use. While the results of the t-test showed that there was a significant difference in student learning outcomes before and after the application of flipbook learning media, this indicates that flipbook learning media is effective to use. Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Flipbook Untuk Meningkatkan Minat Belajar Siswa Pada Materi Garis Dan Sudut Di SMPN 9 PontianakABSTRAKRendahnya minat siswa dalam belajar matematika membuat guru harus melakukan inovasi dalam mengembangkan suatu media yang dapat membuat siswa termotivasi dalam mengikuti pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran flipbook untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa pada Materi garis dan sudut dengan kriteria layak, praktis, efektif. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan ialah metode Penelitian dan pengembangan yang mengacu pada model 4-D yang dimodifikasi hanya sampai tahao Develop yaitu Define, Design, Develop, dan Desseminate. Subjek penelitian ialah siswa kelas VIIB SMP Negeri 9 Pontianak. Hasil penelitian yang di peroleh yaitu hasil valiasi ahli media 82,96% dan ahli materi 90,62% dengan kategori layak digunakan. Hasil angkat respon siswa 80,21% dan guru 92,65% dengan kategori praktis digunakan. Sedangkan hasil uji-t menunjukkan bahwa adanya perbedaan yang signifikan pada hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah penerapan media pembelajaran flipbook, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran flipbook efektif digunakan.Kata Kunci : Flipbook; Garis; Sudut; Define; Design; Develop; Desseminate 4-D.

Abstract

The problem addressed in this study is the variation in the ability of ninth-grade students at SMPN Satu Atap 1 Kalipucang in solving mathematical problems, particularly quadratic equations. Some students demonstrate excellent abilities, while others face difficulties in understanding and solving quadratic equation problems accurately and systematically. This variation in abilities highlights challenges in mathematics education that need to be addressed. This study aims to evaluate students' ability to solve mathematical problems, with a focus on quadratic equations. The method used is descriptive analysis with a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches. The quantitative technique is used to assess students' ability levels through tests, while the qualitative technique is employed to delve deeper into the students' thought processes through interviews. The results indicate that students with high and very high abilities can solve quadratic equation problems well. On the other hand, students with medium ability levels struggle with understanding basic concepts and structured problem-solving steps. Meanwhile, students with low and very low abilities have difficulty understanding the material in-depth, resulting in their inability to solve the problems effectively. These findings suggest the need for a more systematic teaching approach, focusing on strengthening basic understanding and providing additional practice to enhance problem-solving skills, particularly in quadratic equations.Analisis Kemampuan Peserta Didik Kelas IX Dalam Menyelesaikan Masalah Persamaan Kuadrat ABSTRAKPermasalahan yang dihadapi dalam penelitian ini adalah adanya variasi kemampuan peserta didik kelas IX di SMPN Satu Atap 1 Kalipucang dalam memecahkan masalah matematika, khususnya materi persamaan kuadrat. Beberapa peserta didik menunjukkan kemampuan yang sangat baik, sementara yang lain mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami dan menyelesaikan soal-soal persamaan kuadrat secara tepat dan sistematis. Variasi kemampuan ini menunjukkan adanya tantangan dalam pembelajaran matematika yang perlu diatasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kemampuan peserta didik dalam memecahkan masalah matematika, dengan fokus pada topik persamaan kuadrat. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Teknik kuantitatif digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat kemampuan peserta didik melalui tes, sementara teknik kualitatif digunakan untuk menggali lebih dalam proses berpikir peserta didik melalui wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik dengan kemampuan tinggi dan sangat tinggi mampu menyelesaikan soal-soal persamaan kuadrat dengan baik. Sebaliknya, peserta didik dengan kemampuan sedang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep dasar dan langkah-langkah penyelesaian. Sementara itu, peserta didik dengan kemampuan rendah dan sangat rendah kesulitan dalam memahami materi secara mendalam, sehingga tidak dapat menyelesaikan soal dengan baik. Temuan ini mengindikasikan perlunya pendekatan pembelajaran yang lebih sistematis, dengan fokus pada penguatan pemahaman dasar dan latihan ekstra untuk meningkatkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah matematika, khususnya pada materi persamaan kuadrat.Kata Kunci :Analisis; Persamaan Kuadrat; Variasi kemampuan

Abstract

Mathematics is an exact science related to numbers, numbers This research was motivated by the low mathematical connection abilities of class VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Bangkinang Kota. To overcome this problem, Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning.This research aims to determine the diffrences in mathematical connection abilities between student who use Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) and conventional learning. This research is a quasi-experimental study using a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of class VII F, totaling 27 students and VII G, totaling 27 students. The sampling technique used is random sampling. The data collection techniques used were observation sheets and mathematical connection ability test questions. The results of this research can be concluded that there is a difference in the average test results of students' mathematical connection abilities in the experimental class using Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning and the control class which applies conventional learning for class VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Bangkinang Kota. This can be proven through the Independent Sample T-Test, obtaining a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.001 < 0.05, so  is rejected and Ha is accepted

Abstract

Ethnomathematics is a field of study that connects mathematical concepts with local cultural elements, thus providing a new understanding of how mathematics is present in people's daily lives. Songkok Recca, as one of the distinctive cultural elements of the Bugis community, holds various geometric patterns that not only have aesthetic value, but also reflect traditional mathematical understandings that have been passed down from generation to generation. This research is important to explore the relationship between mathematics and local culture, while preserving a cultural heritage that is full of scientific values. The purpose of this study is to explore and analyze mathematical concepts found in Songkok Recca, one of the distinctive cultural elements of the Bugis community. This research uses ethnographic method with qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used were direct observation of Songkok Recca, interviews with resource persons and documentation of visible geometric patterns. The results showed that Songkok Recca contains mathematical concepts in the form of geometric elements, such as ellipses, triangles, rhombuses, squares, tubes and geometric rows.Etnomatematika: Eksplorasi Pakaian Tradisional bugis Songkok Recca dalam Konsep GeometriABSTRAKEtnomatematika merupakan bidang kajian yang menghubungkan konsep-konsep matematika dengan elemen budaya lokal, sehingga memberikan pemahaman baru terhadap bagaimana matematika hadir dalam kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat. Songkok Recca, sebagai salah satu elemen budaya khas masyarakat Bugis, menyimpan berbagai pola geometris yang tidak hanya memiliki nilai estetika, tetapi juga merefleksikan pemahaman matematika tradisional yang diwariskan secara turun-temurun. Penelitian ini menjadi penting untuk menggali keterkaitan antara matematika dan budaya lokal, sekaligus melestarikan warisan budaya yang sarat dengan nilai-nilai keilmuan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi dan menganalisis Konsep-konsep matematika yang terdapat pada Songkok Recca, salah satu elemen budaya khas masyarakat Bugis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode etnografi dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi langsung terhadap Songkok Recca, wawancara dengan narasumber serta dokumentasi pola-pola geometris yang terlihat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Songkok Recca mengandung konsep-konsep matematika berupa unsur geometri, seperti elips, segitiga, belah ketupat, persegi, tabung dan barisan geometri.Kata Kunci :etnomatematika;Songkok Recca; Geometri, Bugis

Abstract

This research aims to view the profile of mathematical creative thinking skills viewed form gender and cognitive style. Cognitive styles are focused on field dependent (FD) and field independent (FI) cognitive styles. This reseaech are explanatory sequential mixed method. The instruments used are the cognitive style test (GEFT), the problem-posing questions (TPM), and an interview guideline. The research subjects were categorized into 4 groups: FD male, FD female, FI male, and FI female. The research procedure starts with quantitative phase, then qualitative phase. The results of the study showed that the mathematical creative thinking skills in problem posing in the FD cognitive style, women are superior compared to the male group. This advantage lies in the fluency component. While in the FI cognitive style, men and women show the same pattern. Therefore, teachers should be able to adjust learning to the conditions of the diversity of categories of each group.Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif Matematis pada Pengajuan Masalah Ditinjau dari Gaya Kognitif dan GenderABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat profil kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis dalam pengajuan masalah mateatika ditinjau dari gender dan gaya kognitif. Gaya kognitif difokuskan pada gaya kognitif field dependent (FD) dan field independent (FI). Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian explanatory sequential mixed method. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes gaya kognitif (GEFT), tes pengajuan masalah (TPM), dan pedoman wawancara. Subjek penelitian dikelompokkan menjadi 4 yaitu FD laki-laki, FD perempuan FD, FI laki-laki, dan FI perempuan. Prosedur penelitian dilakukan dengan fase kuantitatif dilanjutkan dengan fase kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis pada pengajuan masalah pada gaya kognitif FD, perempuan lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan kelompok laki-laki. Keunggulan tersebut terletak pada komponen kefasihan. Sementara pada gaya kognitif FI, laki-laki maupun perempuan menunjukkan pola yang sama. Oleh karena itu, guru hendaknya dapat menyesuaikan pembelajaran dengan kondisi keberagaman kategori dari masing-masing kelompok.Kata Kunci :Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif Matematis; Pengajuan Masalah; Gaya Kognitif; Gender

Abstract

This research aims to improve student learning outcomes through the implementation a teaching module using the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach and the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to on proportional comparison material. The study employs a quantitative approach with a Pre-Experimental Design method and a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research subjects were 28 seventh-grade students at SMP Islamic Leader School, Tasikmalaya. The teaching module was designed to include teaching materials, learning steps, student worksheets (LKPD), as well as diagnostic assessments and culturally-based assessment rubrics. The results of the study show a significant improvement in the average student learning outcomes, from 54.17 on the pretest to 84.52 on the posttest. Statistical analysis using the Paired Sample t-Test produced a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the application of the CRT approach with the PBL model is effective in improving student learning outcomes. This study makes a significant contribution to culturally relevant and meaningful mathematics learning for students.Implementasi Modul Ajar dengan Pendekatan Culturally Responsive Teaching dan Model Problem-Based LearningABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan modul ajar dengan pendekatan Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) dan model Problem-Based Learning (PBL) pada materi perbandingan senilai. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode Pre-Eksperimental Design dengan desain One-Group Pretest-Posttest. Modul ajar dirancang mencakup bahan ajar, langkah-langkah pembelajaran, Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD), serta asesmen diagnostik dan rubrik penilaian berbasis budaya siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa, dari 54,17 pada pretest menjadi 84,52 pada posttest. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, yang mengindikasikan bahwa penerapan pendekatan CRT dengan model PBL efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Abstract

This study aims to describe the errors and anxiety of students with high, medium, and low mathematical abilities in solving Differential Equation problems. This study is a qualitative descriptive study. The instruments used are the Mathematics Ability Test, the Differential Equation Problem Solving Test and interview guidelines. Based on the results of the study, information was obtained that: (1) Subjects with high mathematical abilities made procedural errors because they could not solve problems in their simplest form and met the indicators of mathematical anxiety of fear of failure; (2) Subjects with moderate mathematical abilities made procedural errors, namely not being able to solve problems in their simplest form and technical errors, namely errors in calculating the value of arithmetic operations and using the distributive property of multiplication over addition. These subjects met the indicators of mathematical anxiety, namely ability and self-confidence, difficulty concentrating, nervousness, restlessness, heart palpitations; (3) Subjects with low mathematical abilities made conceptual errors, namely errors in using formulas in answering questions and errors in using formulas that did not comply with the conditions/prerequisites for the validity of the formula; procedural errors, namely not being able to solve problems in their simplest form and not being able to continue the solution steps; technical errors, namely errors in calculating the value of an arithmetic operation. This subject meets the indicators of mathematical anxiety, namely ability and self-confidence, difficulty concentrating, fear of failure, nervousness, unhappiness, restlessness, cold sweats, heart palpitations, headaches.Karakterisasi Kesalahan dan Kecemasan Matematika dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Persamaan DiferensialABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kesalahan dan kecemasan siswa berkemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang, dan rendah dalam menyelesaikan soal Persamaan Diferensial. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Tes Kemampuan Matematika, Tes Penyelesaian Soal Persamaan Diferensial dan pedoman wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh informasi bahwa: (1) Subjek berkemampuan matematika tinggi melakukan kesalahan prosedural karena tidak dapat menyelesaikan soal pada bentuk paling sederhana dan memenuhi indikator kecemasan matematika takut gagal; (2) Subjek berkemampuan matematika sedang melakukan kesalahan prosedural yaitu tidak dapat menyelesaikan soal pada bentuk paling sederhana dan kesalahan teknik yaitu kesalahan menghitung nilai dari operasi hitung dan menggunakan sifat distributif perkalian terhadap penjumlahan. Subjek ini memenuhi indikator kecemasan matematika yaitu kemampuan dan kepercayaan diri, sulit konsentrasi, gugup, gelisah, jantung berdebar; (3) Subjek berkemampuan matematika rendah melakukan kesalahan konseptual yaitu kesalahan dalam penggunaan rumus dalam menjawab soal dan  kesalahan menggunakan rumus yang tidak sesuai dengan kondisi/prasyarat berlakunya rumus; kesalahan prosedural yaitu tidak dapat menyelesaikan soal pada bentuk paling sederhana dan tidak dapat melanjutkan langkah penyelesaian; kesalahan teknik yaitu kesalahan dalam menghitung nilai suatu operasi hitung. Subjek ini memenuhi indikator kecemasan matematika yaitu kemampuan dan kepercayaan diri, sulit konsentrasi, takut gagal, gugup, kurang senang, gelisah, berkeringat dingin, jantung berdebar, sakit kepala.Kata Kunci :kesalahan; kecemasan; persamaan diferensial

Abstract

Learning mathematics at the college level often faces challenges in understanding abstract concepts, one of which is the concept of intervals in real analysis. Augmented Reality (AR) is an innovative technology that can be used as a learning aid by presenting interactive visualizations in three dimensions. This study aims to explore the role of Augmented Reality in facilitating students' understanding of the concept of intervals. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted on students of the mathematics education study program. Data were collected through tests and analyzing students' understanding of the concept of intervals after using Augmented Reality-based learning media. The results showed that Augmented Reality was able to improve students' understanding of the concept of intervals, with a success rate of 75% in understanding the types of intervals and interval representations, and 100% in understanding the concept of nested intervals. These findings indicate that the use of Augmented Reality in mathematics learning can increase students' interest and motivation and help them understand abstract concepts more deeply. Therefore, the application of Augmented Reality as an interactive learning media is recommended to support the learning process in college, especially in real analysis courses.Peran Augmented Reality Sebagai Alat Bantu Pembelajaran Dalam Memfasilitasi Pemahaman Konsep Interval Pada Analisis RealABSTRAKPembelajaran matematika di tingkat perguruan tinggi sering kali menghadapi tantangan dalam memahami konsep abstrak, salah satunya adalah konsep interval dalam analisis real. Augmented Reality (AR) merupakan teknologi inovatif yang dapat digunakan sebagai alat bantu pembelajaran dengan menghadirkan visualisasi interaktif dalam bentuk tiga dimensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran Augmented Reality dalam memfasilitasi pemahaman konsep interval mahasiswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus yang dilakukan pada mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan menganalisis pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap konsep interval setelah menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis Augmented Reality. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Augmented Reality mampu meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap konsep interval, dengan persentase keberhasilan 75% dalam memahami jenis interval dan representasi interval, serta 100% dalam memahami konsep interval bersarang. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa penggunaan Augmented Reality dalam pembelajaran matematika dapat meningkatkan ketertarikan dan motivasi mahasiswa serta membantu mereka memahami konsep abstrak secara lebih mendalam. Oleh karena itu, penerapan Augmented Reality sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif direkomendasikan untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi, khususnya dalam mata kuliah analisis real.Kata Kunci :Augmented Reality; Interval; Pemahaman
