Abstract

Research Objective: Family developmental tasks during the school-age period include supporting children’s intellectual growth, independence, and socialization outside the home. For children with special needs, family support is particularly important because social interaction may be affected by communication, behavioral, or adaptive difficulties. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between family developmental tasks in school-age children and the socialization skills of children with special needs at SLBN 01 North Bengkulu. Methodology: A quantitative analytic study with a cross-sectional design was conducted at SLBN 01 North Bengkulu in January 2026. The study involved 26 parents of children with special needs selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires measuring family developmental task achievement and children’s socialization skills. The data were analyzed using univariate analysis and the Chi-Square test with a significance level of 0.05. Results: Most respondents were female (69.2%). Family developmental tasks were fully achieved by 18 respondents (69.2%), and good socialization skills were reported in 17 children (65.4%). Bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between family developmental tasks and children’s socialization skills (p < 0.001). Conclusion: The achievement of family developmental tasks is significantly associated with better socialization skills among children with special needs. Strengthening family-centered support, parental guidance, and school-family collaboration is recommended to improve social development outcomes.

Abstract

Research Objective: This study aimed to identify the root causes of medical record-number duplication and synthesize evidence-informed continuous-improvement recommendations. Methodology: A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted in Google Scholar in June 2026 using combinations of “medical record duplication,” “Electronic Medical Records (EMR),” and “continuous improvement.” Articles published between 2022 and 2026 were screened using predefined eligibility criteria. Of 7,580 records identified, 11 articles were included and analyzed through qualitative thematic coding and narrative quality appraisal. Results: The evidence was grouped into five interrelated dimensions: human resources, systems and technology, processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies and governance, and infrastructure. Human-resource factors were the most frequently reported, while system limitations, weak identity-verification procedures, limited governance, and infrastructure disruptions also contributed to assigning more than one medical record number to the same patient. The findings were mapped to PDCA, Kaizen, data cleansing, and Master Patient Index (MPI) strategies. Conclusion: Medical record-number duplication is a multidimensional patient-safety and data-quality problem. The proposed continuous-improvement framework should be interpreted as an evidence-informed synthesis that may help healthcare facilities reduce new duplication and strengthen patient-identity management; its effectiveness requires local implementation and evaluation.

Abstract

Research Objective: This study aimed to describe user satisfaction with electronic medical record (EMR) implementation across the five End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) dimensions and to identify commonly reported implementation barriers. Methodology: A structured descriptive literature review was conducted using Google Scholar in April 2026. Searches combined the terms “electronic medical record” OR “rekam medis elektronik,” “End User Computing Satisfaction” OR “EUCS,” and “hospital” OR “rumah sakit.” Indonesian-language, full-text hospital-based studies published from 2022 to 2026 were eligible. Of 1,600 records identified, 5 studies met the criteria and were narratively synthesized. Results: The included studies generally reported favorable satisfaction across content, accuracy, format, ease of use, and timeliness. Nevertheless, recurring concerns were reported for ease of use and timeliness, including difficult workflows, unstable networks, server disruption, system errors, limited user skills, and duplicate data entry. Conclusion: The reviewed evidence suggests that EMR user satisfaction is associated with both system characteristics and implementation conditions. Improvements should prioritize usability, network and server reliability, workflow simplification, and periodic user training.

Abstract

Research Objective: This study aimed to examine changes in back pain levels and sleep quality following pregnancy exercise among third-trimester pregnant women. Methodology: This quantitative study used a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted in the working area of Cikoneng Health Center, Ciamis Regency, and involved 33 third-trimester pregnant women selected through purposive sampling. Back pain was assessed using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), and sleep quality was measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) before and after four structured pregnancy-exercise sessions over one month. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results: Before the intervention, most respondents experienced moderate back pain and poor sleep quality. After the intervention, most respondents reported mild or no back pain, and sleep quality improved. The pretest-posttest differences were statistically significant (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Pregnancy exercise was associated with reduced back pain and improved sleep quality in this single-group preliminary study. The findings support its potential use as a complementary non-pharmacological approach in antenatal care, while controlled studies are still needed.

Abstract

Research Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of modified lavender aromatherapy on labor pain among women in the active phase of the first stage of labor at the PONED Room of UPTD Karangnunggal Public Health Center, Tasikmalaya Regency, in 2026. Methodology: This study used a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a two-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 50 primiparous women divided into two intervention groups: inhalation–massage lavender aromatherapy and inhalation–warm compress lavender aromatherapy. Pain intensity was measured before and after the intervention using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate statistical tests. Results: The results showed a decrease in labor pain intensity after both interventions. Both the inhalation–massage lavender aromatherapy group and the inhalation–warm compress lavender aromatherapy group demonstrated significant differences between pretest and posttest pain scores. Lavender aromatherapy provided relaxation effects and reduced pain perception through stimulation of the limbic system and gate control mechanisms. Conclusion: Modified lavender aromatherapy is effective in reducing labor pain during the active phase of the first stage of labor. Both intervention methods may be used as complementary non-pharmacological approaches in midwifery care to improve maternal comfort during labor.

Abstract

Research Objective: This study aimed to examine changes in the severity of emesis gravidarum before and after inhaled peppermint aromatherapy among first-trimester pregnant women in the working area of the Purbaratu Public Health Center, Tasikmalaya City. Methodology: A pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was used. Twenty participants with complete paired data were analyzed. Emesis gravidarum severity was measured using the Pregnancy-Unique Quantification of Emesis and Nausea (PUQE-24) questionnaire before and after inhalation of two to three drops of peppermint essential oil administered once daily for three consecutive days. Paired Sample t-test analysis was used after the normality assumption was met. Results: The mean PUQE-24 score decreased from 9.50 (SD = 1.235) before the intervention to 3.30 (SD = 1.128) after the intervention, with a mean reduction of 6.20 points (p < 0.001). Conclusion: In this small uncontrolled study, inhaled peppermint aromatherapy was associated with a significant reduction in emesis gravidarum scores. The findings provide preliminary support for its use as a complementary approach, but controlled studies and continued maternal safety monitoring are required before routine implementation.

Abstract

Research Objective: Anxiety commonly occurs among primigravida women as childbirth approaches. This study aimed to examine the association between husband support and anxiety levels among third-trimester primigravida women in the working area of Purbaratu Public Health Center. Methodology: This quantitative study used a cross-sectional design and total sampling of 30 eligible participants. Husband support was measured using a modified Guttman-scale questionnaire, while anxiety was assessed using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). Descriptive analysis and the Fisher-Freeman-Halton exact test for a 2 × 3 contingency table were used, with Cramér’s V reported as an effect-size measure. Results: Most respondents received husband support and experienced mild anxiety. Husband support was significantly associated with anxiety level (p = 0.001), with a Cramér’s V of 0.66, indicating a strong association in this sample. Conclusion: Husband support was associated with lower anxiety levels among third-trimester primigravida women. Because the study was cross-sectional, the findings do not establish causality. Involving husbands in antenatal education may support maternal psychological preparedness for childbirth.

Abstract

Research Objective: This study aimed to identify disaster-emergency documentation requirements and develop a conceptual mobile electronic medical record prototype for Sumber Waras Hospital, Cirebon. Methodology: An exploratory qualitative case study was conducted using one purposively selected key informant, the Head of the Medical Record Unit. Data were collected through an in-depth interview, direct observation, and document review. Method triangulation was applied by comparing findings across the three data-collection methods. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, translated into functional and non-functional requirements, and developed into a high-fidelity Figma prototype using a design thinking approach. Results: The analysis identified requirements for disaster-specific registration, rapid triage documentation, temporary identification of unidentified patients, simplified emergency clinical recording, offline data capture, role-based access control, reporting, and proposed synchronization with the hospital information system. These requirements were represented in the conceptual E-Merge prototype, which includes login, dashboard, disaster-patient registration, emergency documentation, patient search, reporting, and disaster-map modules. Technical implementation, interoperability testing, and multidisciplinary usability evaluation were not conducted. Conclusion: E-Merge provides a preliminary conceptual design for disaster-specific mobile medical record documentation. Its usability, security, offline synchronization, and interoperability with the hospital information system and SATUSEHAT require further multidisciplinary testing before implementation.

Abstract

Research Objective: Static reports may limit rapid interpretation of healthcare utilization data. This study aimed to develop a prototype interactive Tableau dashboard for visualizing BPJS Kesehatan sample visit data in Tasikmalaya City during 2024 and to describe visit patterns according to month, sex, age group, and diagnosis. Methodology: This descriptive quantitative study used anonymized secondary BPJS Kesehatan sample visit records from January to December 2024. Data preparation included duplicate checking, missing-value assessment, standardization of date and demographic variables, and verification of diagnosis codes using the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision. The cleaned data were imported into Tableau and displayed through summary cards, monthly trend charts, demographic visualizations, diagnosis charts, and interactive filters. Dashboard totals were cross-checked against descriptive calculations from the final dataset. Results: The final analytic dataset contained 889 participant visits. The dashboard displayed visit patterns by month, sex, age group, and diagnosis. December had the highest number of visits, with 210 visits, while January had the lowest, with 39 visits. Female participants accounted for a greater proportion of visits than male participants. Higher visit frequencies were observed in selected productive-age and older-adult groups. Fever, classified under ICD-10 category R50, was the most frequently recorded diagnosis, with 59 visits. Conclusion: The prototype dashboard provides an interactive presentation of BPJS Kesehatan sample visit data and facilitates descriptive exploration of temporal, demographic, and diagnostic patterns. Because the dashboard was developed using historical sample data and was not evaluated through formal usability testing, its findings should not be interpreted as representing all BPJS utilization in Tasikmalaya City. Future development should include automated data updating, end-user usability testing, and integration with more complete service-utilization data.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease with a high prevalence in Indonesia and remains a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. The increasing number of hypertension cases at Selajambe Public Health Center highlights the importance of evaluating antihypertensive drug utilization to ensure rational and appropriate pharmacotherapy. Objectives: This study aimed to describe the utilization of antihypertensive drugs by patient characteristics, drug classes, drug types, active ingredients, dosages, dosage frequency, and treatment patterns at Selajambe Public Health Center, Kuningan Regency, in 2025. Methods: This descriptive observational study employed a quantitative approach using retrospective data obtained from medical records. A total of 146 hypertensive patients were selected from a population of 230 patients using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed descriptively and presented as frequency distributions and percentages. Results: Most patients were aged over 60 years (56.16%) and female (72%). Monotherapy was the predominant treatment pattern (75%). Calcium Channel Blockers (CCBs), particularly amlodipine, were the most frequently prescribed antihypertensive drugs (75%), followed by Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitors (ACEIs), namely captopril (20%), while combination therapy accounted for 5% of prescriptions. Amlodipine was predominantly prescribed at doses of 5 mg (45%) and 10 mg (29%), whereas captopril, an Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitor (ACEI), was prescribed at 12.5 mg (26%). Most antihypertensive medications were administered once daily. Conclusion: Antihypertensive drug utilization at Selajambe Public Health Center was predominantly based on CCB monotherapy with amlodipine, which is consistent with current hypertension treatment recommendations, particularly for elderly patients, indicating that single-drug therapy remains the primary treatment approach
