Abstract

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of the TPACK types which include TPACK-IK, TPACK-TK, TPACK-VK, and TPACK-V on students' technological literacy abilities. This type of research is pure experimental research. The research design used was pretest-posttest with nonequivalent groups. The population in this study amounted to 272 students. The sample of this study included 30 students in class A, 31 students in class B, 29 students in class C, and 30 students in class D. The data collection technique used in this study is the test. The research instrument used was the question sheet. The results showed that based on the results of the paired t test, it was found that there was a difference in the average pretest and posttest scores in the experimental group I with a P value of 0.001, the experimental group II with a P = 0.026, and control I with a P = 0.034. Whereas in the control group II there was no difference in the average pretest and posttest scores with P = 0.283. Based on these data the treatment with TPACK-IK gave the best results on students' technological literacy skills. Meanwhile, based on the Two Way Anova analysis, it shows that Fcount > Ftable with an acquisition score of 9.456 > 4.03 with P <0.05. The data shows that the four types of TPACK are able to differentiate students' technological literacy levels.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze primary school students' mathematical literacy (ML) in solving multiple-solution (MS) problems. We call students ML to solve MS with MS-ML. The research subjects are students from grade four in a Sidoarjo, East Java primary school. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. The instruments used were an MS-ML test and an interview. Interviews were conducted with several students who were selected through the MS-ML category. There are three indicators of MS-ML: the formulating stage, the employing stage, and the interpreting stage. The results of the analysis showed that there were appropriate and inappropriate MS-ML categories. Most students are in the inappropriate MS-ML category. Many students struggle to formulate, employ, and interpret the correct divergent solution. We suggest that one familiarize oneself with divergent ML-MS-based problem-solving in learning and teaching, namely building ML problem-solving with multiple solutions or MS strategies.

Abstract

The development of macromedia flash-based interactive multimedia aimed to increase students’ scientific literacy in the natural science subject material especially the characteristics of living things. This study used a 4D development model and employed a pretest-posttest control group design. The research data included the results of the validity, effectiveness of using macromedia flash-based interactive multimedia, and increasing students' scientific literacy after using macromedia flash-based interactive multimedia. The subjects of this study were fourth grade students at MI Muhammadiyah 1 Payaman, Lamongan. The validity consisted of material validity, design validity, and learning media validity from two experts. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of the media was perceived from the results of limited and field trials, as well as t-test and N-Gain test to investigate an increase in students’ scientific literacy. The product was tested on fourth grade students in science subjects. The results showed that the percentages of the validity test of learning materials, media design, instructional media were 98%, 945%, 91.25% respectively with very valid categories. The result of the t-test was 0.001 <0.05 with the N-Gain test results of 73.44%, meaning that there was a significant difference and an increase in students’ scientific literacy. It can be concluded that macromedia flash-based interactive multimedia is very suitable and effective as a medium for teaching natural sciences in elementary schools.

Abstract

This type of research is ex post facto research. The calculation of the sample size uses a table by Stephen Isaac, which is calculated by the Krecjie and Morgan formula (1970). From a sample of 330, a sample of 172 is needed (with a 5% error chance). Data analysis techniques are used using descriptive statistics and parametric statistics. The results of the analysis show that the effect of PLP 1 on microteaching, as seen in Pair 1, is 6.632 with a significance level of 0.000 (p value <0.05), then H0 is rejected and Ha is tested. The effect of microteaching on PLP 2 is seen in pair 2, where the t value is 1.126 with a significance level of 0.262 (p value> 0.05), then H0 is accepted. Ha is not tested. The effect of PLP 1 on educational practice is seen in pair 3, where the t value is 8.465 with a significance level of 0.000 (p value <0.05), then H0 is rejected and Ha is tested. The effect of microteaching on educational practice is seen in pair 4, where the t value is -4.287 with a significance level of 0.000 (p value <0.05), and H0 is rejected. Ha is tested. The effect of PLP 2 on educational practice is seen in pair 5, and the calculated t value is 10.749 with a significance level of 0.000 (p value <0.05), so H0 is rejected. The alternative hypothesis is tested.

Abstract

Abstract: Quantum learning is very popular in educational field. It can be implemented easily in elementary school. It will be more interesting when it is collaborated with an application as a learning media. This study aims to investigate the design of quantum learning which is collaborated with Si Raca app and to investigate students’ motivation and reading achievements in it. This study is classroom action research that involves 24 students in the first grade of SD Islam Darussalam Kedungrejo, Sumberrejo, Bojonegoro Regency, East Java. This study utilizes research instruments in form of observation sheets which implement the aspect of ARCH and reading tests with indicators of fluency, accuracy, pronunciation, and intonation. Research procedures are started from analyzing problems, designing actions, implementing actions, and reflecting. The data is analyzed using likert scale and it is calculated using simple formula. Moreover, it is consulted with interval scores. Results of study show that the quantum learning collaborated with Si Raca app in early reading is designed using innovative and interactive approach which implements the syntax of TANDUR. There are 50% of students who improve their motivation and reading achievements very well. It can be concluded that Si Raca app has important role in quantum learning. This application is a learning media which is useful for students in improving their motivation and reading achievements.

Abstract

Writing skills is critical not only in school, but also in everyday life, that can be accomplished by combining learning media with local resources such as Punokawan wayang figures. This study is objectively focused at comprehending exploratory studies to and characterizing the presence of picture story textbooks linked to writing skills based on Wayang punokawan, as well as conducting a requirements analysis of the picture story book textbooks used. This study a qualitative study which technically used content analysis to collect the data. The presentation of data analysis used an informal presentation method, namely the presentation of data in the form of formulations based on the collection of words. The methods comprised an in-depth interview with key informants; field survey at the location and documentation study. The results of this study obtained that planning for the preparation of textbook guides with the characters of puppet-servants to be used by teachers when teaching. Implementing writing theories, as well as drawing characters in line with the prepared literacy; supervising the implementation process related to learning writing skills, telling stories according to teacher and student handbooks, as well as modules and companion books used during learning.

Abstract

Science textbooks are widely available and accessible in elementary schools, often at no expense to students. However, evaluating and comparing their effectiveness with a visually engaging alternative, such as a fun thinkers book model that incorporates numerous illustrations, is necessary. Elementary school students exhibit a strong favor for images over text. This study aims to assess students' comprehension abilities utilizing the fun thinkers book and traditional science textbooks. This study employs a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The data collection method employed a test instrument to assess knowledge and practices related to waste management with an environmental theme. Data analysis employed an independent sample t-test to assess the statistical significance difference between the experimental and control groups. The findings indicated that the students who utilized the fun thinkers book exhibited a better understanding of waste management than those who relied on the textbook. Including pictures in the fun thinkers book enhanced the learning engagement of elementary school students, resulting in a higher level of comprehension than students who used the textbook alone.
