Abstract

This study investigated the conformity of breaststroke swimming technique in 8-12-year-old students at SD Islam Al-Azhar 14 Semarang, recognizing that efficient technical mastery is crucial for optimal swimming performance and minimizing water resistance. Initial observations indicated common errors in breaststroke mechanics, particularly concerning body position and arm/leg movements during the start glide. This quantitative descriptive study involved 15 students from the swimming extracurricular program. Data were collected via video recordings of their breaststroke movements, subsequently analyzed using Kinovea software version 0.9.5 to objectively measure kinematic parameters, specifically arm and leg angles during the start glide phase. The results revealed an average arm angle of 131.4° (± 1.1°) and an average leg angle of 123.6° (± 1.2°) during the glide. These findings indicate that most students had not yet fully achieved the ideal streamline position, essential for maximizing glide efficiency. The observed deviations underscore the critical need for targeted coaching that provides specific, continuous visual and kinesthetic feedback. The study concludes that most students have not yet fully achieved the ideal streamline position crucial for minimizing drag and maximizing glide efficiency.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning basic volleyball passing techniques using the playing method on physical education learning outcomes in grade IV students at SDN Dukuh 08 Pag. Learning basic passing techniques with the play method is an active approach that involves students in game activities that are fun, directed, and in accordance with motor development. This method not only focuses on mastering movement techniques, but also fosters motivation, cooperation, and coordination of students' movements. The learning outcomes of physical education in this study include cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains, especially in volleyball upper and lower passing skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental methods and posttest-only control group design. The research sample consisted of 60 grade IV students who were divided into two groups: the experimental class that received learning using the play method, and the control class that received conventional learning. The data collection instrument used an observation sheet consisting of 6 aspects and 18 indicators of upper and lower passing techniques, with an assessment scale of 1–5. The validity of the instrument was consulted with a physical education expert, but the reliability was not tested. Data analysis was carried out using normality tests, homogeneity tests, independent sample t-tests, and effect size calculations with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 27 software. The results showed that the data was normally distributed (Sig. > 0.05), but not homogeneous (Sig. < 0.05). The t-test showed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes in the upper passing (t = 13.675) and lower passing (t = 11.500) results. The calculation of effect size shows a very high influence. Thus, learning basic volleyball passing techniques through the playing method has been proven to have a significant effect on students' physical education learning outcomes

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between exercise habits and stress levels in non-sports study program students at Universitas Negeri Semarang. The study used a quantitative design with a descriptive correlational approach and a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 50 active students of the Faculty of Medicine who were selected purposively. Data was collected through an exercise habit questionnaire (IPAQ-SF) and a Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), then analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. The results showed that most respondents had moderate (80%) and high (20%) physical activity levels, without a low category. The average stress score was 20.12, indicating a moderate category, with 50% of students experiencing moderate stress and 28% experiencing high stress. There was a strong and significant negative relationship between total physical activity and stress levels (ρ = -0.804; p <0.01), especially heavy activity which showed a stronger correlation (ρ = -0.825; p <0.01). In contrast, moderate activity and walking did not show a significant relationship with stress. This study concluded that the intensity of physical activity, especially vigorous exercise, plays an important role in reducing stress levels of non-sports students. These results are expected to be the basis for campuses in designing mental health programs based on physical activity.

Abstract

With the accuracy of jump serves among male volleyball players of the SBV Popsi Sragen Club. Technical execution in volleyball, particularly the jump serve, requires not only physical skill but also psychological readiness and sensory-motor awareness. Anxiety may interfere with motor coordination and focus, while concentration and kinesthetic perception play key roles in movement control and targeting accuracy. This research employed a quantitative correlational method, involving 20 male players selected through a total sampling approach. Instruments included the Sport Competition Anxiety Test (SCAT) for measuring anxiety, a grid concentration test to assess attention focus, and a kinesthetic perception test based on position-matching tasks. Jump serve accuracy was evaluated through practical testing using a scoring system targeting specific court zones. Data analysis using Pearson Product-Moment correlation revealed significant relationships between anxiety, concentration, and kinesthetic perception with jump serve accuracy (p < 0.05). These findings emphasize the importance of integrating psychological and perceptual training into volleyball coaching programs to improve service performance.
