Abstract

Volleyball is a team game played by two teams with six players in each team. It is played by volleying the ball back and forth over the net and each team tries to quickly drop the ball into the opponent's court with a perfect ball bounce. Mastery of technique, physical ability, good tactics and mentality, as well as cooperation are needed to win the game. The aim of this observation was to measure Body Mass Index (BMI) and nutrition in Sky Club volleyball athletes. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, qualitative descriptive aims to systematically explain events that are currently occurring by emphasizing the disclosure of data based on facts obtained from the field. The results of this observation show that the Sky Club volleyball athletes have an average Body Mass Index (BMI) value in the Normal criteria. This shows that the Langit volleyball athletes do not have problems with nutrition, because they have a good diet and balanced training patterns. If it is not balanced with a programmed diet and exercise pattern, growth, in this case Body Mass Index (BMI), will be disrupted. The nutritional status of athletes at Club Langit is good, there are only a few athletes whose nutritional status is not normal, and this can all be influenced by several factors such as meal portions, lack of nutrients (carbohydrates, protein, fat, etc.) and inappropriate training. to the needs of athletes. Coaches must pay more attention to providing training progress to athletes, so that there are no more problems with nutritional status to improve the performance of Club Langit athletes. The Body Mass Index results at the Langit club were 71.47% in the Normal category and this is quite a good result. This correlates when the athletes do the vertical jump, they will be very light when doing it.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an increase in learning outcomes of Physical Fitness for Coordination in Class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Palembang after the implementation of the traditional game of running beams. Therefore, this study is expected to help solve the problems experienced and describe how much the learning outcomes of coordination and balance of movement increase through the traditional game of running beams. The method used in this study is action research. The population used was class VIII.3 students of SMP Negeri 3 Palembang. The sample used was 31 students using the population sampling technique or the entire population used as a sample. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets and data on the results of Learning Coordination and Balance of Movement in Physical Fitness which were carried out through learning outcome tests. The results of data processing and data analysis showed an increase in learning outcomes of Coordination and Balance of Movement in Physical Fitness for the first cycle increased by 58% and the second cycle increased by 90% from the data of 31 students. So the increase in data from the first and second cycles increased by 32%.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an innovative and structured training model for the basic underhand pass technique in volleyball using target media as a training aid. The research subjects were adolescent athletes from PBV Tunas Inti Sriwijaya who are currently undergoing a development program. The method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model approach, which consists of five stages: Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. During the development stage, validations were conducted by volleyball technique experts and media experts to assess the feasibility of the product. The validation results showed that the developed training model was highly valid, with an average score of 96.66%. Furthermore, small-scale and large-scale trials were conducted on different groups of athletes, and the results indicated a practicality level of 90.00%, categorized as highly practical. The resulting product consists of a training manual and a training model video that incorporates target media exercises to improve the accuracy of direction and control in underhand passing. This training model has proven effective in enhancing basic technical skills, athlete motivation, and engagement during training sessions. Therefore, the product can serve as an effective and innovative alternative solution for coaches and clubs in designing more systematic and enjoyable training programs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of touching cones training on the reaction speed of futsal goalkeepers at SMA PGRI 2 Palembang. The research method used was experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 6 active goalkeepers. The training program was conducted over 16 sessions, with a frequency of 4 times per week and a duration of 120 minutes per session. The instrument used was a visual reaction test measured using a digital stopwatch. The pretest results showed an average reaction time of 0.385 seconds, while the posttest results improved to an average of 0.22 seconds. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test indicated that the data were normally distributed (p > 0.05). The hypothesis test using the t-test resulted in a t-value (tcount) of 17.23369 and a t-table value (ttable) of 2.571 at a 5% significance level, meaning tcount > ttable, so the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This indicates a significant effect of touching cones training on improving the reaction speed of futsal goalkeepers. The training has proven effective in enhancing visual response speed to stimuli, which is crucial for goalkeeper performance. This research may serve as a reference for coaches in designing reaction-based training programs for futsal goalkeepers.

Abstract

Maximal oxygen volume (VO₂Max) is a major indicator of aerobic capacity and cardiovascular health. At the age of 30 years, there is a gradual decline in cardiorespiratory function if not balanced with adequate physical activity. Swimming training is categorized as a low-impact aerobic activity that involves many muscle groups simultaneously and has the potential to increase VO₂Max in non-athlete populations. This study aims to evaluate the effect of 30-minute swimming training on increasing VO₂Max in 30-year-old non-athlete individuals. The design of this study was a one-group pretest-posttest with a quantitative approach. A total of 20 male subjects aged 30 years (±1 year), who were physically inactive and had no history of chronic disease, participated in a swimming training program for six weeks, three times a week, each for 30 minutes. VO₂Max was measured using a multistage fitness test (beep test) before and after the intervention. Statistical analysis used a paired t-test with a significance level of p <0.05. The results showed a statistically significant increase in VO₂Max (mean pretest = 35.2 ± 3.4 ml/kg/min; posttest = 39.1 ± 3.6 ml/kg/min; p < 0.001), indicating a positive adaptation to aerobic training in water. Regular 30-minute swimming training has been shown to be effective in increasing VO₂Max in non-athlete 30-year-old individuals. This training can be recommended as an efficient and low-risk fitness strategy for the productive age group.

Abstract

Leg muscle power and reaction speed are important components in athlete performance, especially in sports that require explosive movements such as sprinting, jumping, and rapid changes of direction. The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of a combination of plyometric and agility ladder training on increasing leg muscle power and reaction speed, especially in futsal players. Both types of training are theoretically capable of increasing explosive ability and motor response speed. The method used was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test and post-test design. The results showed that there was a significant increase in both physical variables studied. These findings support the use of combined training as an efficient method for developing the physical condition of futsal athletes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of Tabata Training on improving athletes’ physical fitness, assessed through VO₂max, muscular fitness, and body composition. A quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. The subjects consisted of 20 athletes futsal female aged 18 to 23 years who participated in a six-week training program. Data were analyzed using statistical tests to determine differences between pre- and post-intervention measurements. The results indicated that Tabata Training had a significant effect on increasing VO₂max, muscular strength and endurance, as well as reducing body fat percentage. In conclusion, Tabata Training can be considered an effective method for enhancing athletes’ overall physical fitness.
