Abstract

Educational efforts are planned to influence other people, both individuals, groups, and communities so that they do what is expected by educators. This study provides a problem definition for the object of the research problem on the Influence of Leadership Style and Motivation on Teacher Performance in Junior High Schools Jirak Jaya District Musi Banyuasin Regency. The method in this research is a quantitative method with a survey approach using the Cluster Random Sampling Area technique and data analyzed using the SPSS Software For Windows Version 21 assistance program. The result in this research there are significant influence of leadership style on the performance of Junior High School teachers in Jirak Jaya District and contributes 29.7%, the performance of Junior High School teachers based on effect of teacher work motivation in Jirak Jaya District and contributes 29.4% of the influence, and the performance of Junior High School teachers based on leadership style and work motivation in Jirak Jaya District and contributes 70.8% influence, and the rest is influenced by other factors not listed in this study.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of teachers classroom reinforcement on the students reading ability, determine the influence of motivation on the students' reading ability and to determine the influence of teachers' classroom reinforcement and motivation simultaneously on the studentss' reading ability. This research was conducted on SMAN 16 OKI. The sample consisted of 30 students who were divided into two classes, each classes consisted 15 students. Samples were taken by random sampling technique. The method used in this research is Expose Facto with simple regression and multiple regression. the result of  the influence coefficient between teachers’ classroom reinforcement and students’ reading ability showed that level of significant was 0.041 < 0.05. Consequently, is a significant influence of teachers’ classroom reinforcement on the elevenths grade students reading ability. A  The result of the influence coefficient between students' motivation and students' reading ability showed that level of significant was 0.036< 0.05. Consequently there is a significant influence of teachers' classroom motivation on the elevenths grade students' reading ability. The result of a  the influence coefficient between teachers' classroom reinforcement and motivation on the students' reading ability showed that level of significant was 0.046 < 0.05. Consequently, there are significant influences of teachers' classroom reinforcement and motivation on the elevenths grade students reading ability.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to find out and analyze the process of improving students’ motivation and speaking ability of the third year students package C of SPNF SKB Kab,. OKU by using WhatsApp Application. The method which used in this research is classroom action research where the researcher works together with the collaborator/other English teacher. This research was carried out by following Kemmis & Taggart action research procedure where it took place in 3 cycles. The result of this study found that there was improvement of students' speaking ability and motivation. The score of minimum completeness criteria of English lesson was 70. Finding in cycle 1 there were 15 students who pass the minimum completeness criteria or 50 % of students. Finding test in cycle 2 there were 20 students who pass the minimum completeness criteria or 66% of students and than the finding in cycle 3 there were 26 students who pass the minimum completeness criteria or 86% of students. There were improvement of students speaking ability from cycle 1 to cycle 2 gained improvement as 16% and from cycle 2 to cycle 3 gained improvement as 20%. The students' participation increased during the teaching learning process whereas it indicates the students' motivation had increased. Utami (2020) have researched about WhatsApp Application in blended learning where she found that WhatsApp application effective to use as a learning media in writing descriptive text and now the researcher found that WhatsApp application can use as a learning media to improve students’ motivation and students' speaking ability.

Abstract

This thesis was concerned with the Reading Habits In The Digital Age: Changes Trend and Behavior in Alpha Generation. The problem of this research was how could trends and behaviors in alpha generation change reading habits. The purpose of this study is to identify whether the alpha generation has the habit of reading in the digital age. The objective of this research was generation alpha especially students of Junior High School 11 Palembang, Seventh-grade. Based on the data taken from the students choose the answer based on their honest opinion. There were (13%) Fully Agree and (50%) Agree of 30 students were agree on reading habits and the use of technology for reading habits. And (4%) Highly Disagree and (33%) Disagree about reading habits and the use of technology so here the comparison was quite comparable to the reading habits of students using technology in this digital age. It could be can be concluded that the alpha generation has a habit of reading using technology that is included in the digital age such as using a handphone or laptop and reading habits have reading behavior in students.

Abstract

Schools as an educational institution face two demands, namely the demands of the community and the demands of the business world, the researcher wants to find out more about how the implementation of Principal Leadership Management in Quality of Learning at the 34 Banyuasin III State Elementary School. The research used descriptive qualitative research method. Qualitative method used to analyze data in the form of information, such as observations, documentation, using two ways of thinking and for the informant were administrative staff at the 34 Banyuasin III State Elementary School. From the results of this study, it was found that the principal always distributes educators in accordance with the fields they are skilled in and assigns tasks to education personnel in accordance with their disciplines. In relation to the world of education, learning facilities can be positioned as part of supporting student success which is called student learning achievement.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to find out the teachers and students perceptions and the challenges that faced by the teachers and students in teaching and learning by using Bilingual Education Program at Senior High School of Sumatera Selatan Palembang. This study applied qualitative descriptive method. The population of this study was 4 science and math teachers and 25 of 10th grade students. The data were collected by using close- ended questionnaire and interview. The results showed that Bilingual education program is a good program. There were so many benefits for the teachers and students. This program required the teachers and students to speak English even the subject are mathematics and science. Bilingual was giving the chance for the teachers and students to get new experiences. The teachers and students reported to having limited English skills and particularly in terms of scientific terminology.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to find out and analyze the process of improving the motivation and listening ability of the eleventh grades students by using Smart App Creator in the Management Program at SMK Negeri 3 OKU Selatan. The method which used in this research is classroom action research where it took place in 3 cycles. The result of this study found that there was improvement of students’ listening ability and motivation. The score of minimum completeness criteria of English lesson was 70. In listening test cycle 1 there were 10 students who pass the minimum completeness criteria or 33,3% of students. In listening test cycle 2 there were 18 students who pass the minimum completeness criteria or 60% of students and in listening test of cycle 3 there were 26 students who pass the minimum completeness criteria or 86% of students. There were improvement of students listening ability as 52.7% where from cycle 1 to cycle 2 gained improvement as 26,7% and from cycle 2 to cycle 3 gained improvement as 26%. The students’ participation increased during the teaching learning process whereas it indicates the students’ motivation had increased. Faqih, (2021) have researched about Smart App Creator as a learning media where he found that smart app creator effective to use as a learning media of poetry lesson and now the researcher found that smart app creator can use as a learning media to improve students’ listening ability and motivation.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to describe how the students use the journalist questions technique in writing ability in narrative text and to describe the students’ responses produced in the class, the researcher would use written responses. This study used qualitative research, related to collect and analyse the data in the various forms, especially non-numeric forms. The researcher chosed this approach because the study's objectives include demonstrating knowledge of detailed and in-depth sample evaluation as well as class XI students at Senior High School PGRI 2 Palembang. The result showed that the narrative text was an idea from the students to understand and how to use journalist questions in writing with narrative text. The result showed that the 11th graders have a positive response towards the use of journalist questions in writing ability with narrative text. As a results of the students’ responses produced in the class, the researcher found that students showed a range of behaviors that demonstrated their writing ability in narrative text and evaluation of the texts as well as of their responses. The class had a relatively sufficient feedback which provided. Students demonstrated a high comprehension from the text. The amounts of tasks in the text clearly aimed to reach the goal. Students’ responses in written form also showed that they were trained to be more capable in writing.

Abstract

This thesis is concerned with the inquiry on the correlations among students’ learning motivation, parents' involvement, and English speaking skill of the eighth grade students at SMP IT Islahul Ummah Prabumulih. The problem of the study is to investigate the correlation among students’ learning motivation, parents’ involvement, and English speaking skill. The total number of the population were 69 students. The sample for this study was 69 students. Data were collected by adopting a questionnaire for students’ learning motivation, parents’ involvement, and test for English speaking skill. Data were analyzed by using r-Product Moment and Multiple Regression. Finding show that there are correlations among learning motivation, parentss'involvement, and English speaking skill. The data analysis shows that R_yx1x2 = 0.978 with r^2=0.757 and p-Value is 0.000. This value is lower than 0.05. This is significant. So, Ha is accepted while Ho is rejected. Therefore, there are significant correlation among students' learning motivation, parents' involvement, and English speaking skill. Conclusions suggest that there are significant correlations among students'learning motivation, parents' involvement, and English speaking skill of the eighth grade students of SMP IT Ishlahul Ummah Prabumulih.

Abstract

The aimed of this research was to find out the effect of Round Robin Brainstorming in solving students’ speaking anxiety. the writer compared level of students’ speaking anxiety and students’ speaking ability to find out the effect of Round Robin Brainstorming before and after being taught by Round Robin Brainstorming. The researcher took one class as the sample that consist of 30 students from X Multimedia 2 of SMK Muhammadiyah Pagaralam. The data was collected by using two instruments. The first is a speaking test to measure students' speaking ability, The second instrument used was a questionnaire sheet (FLCAS) consisting of 33 items that adopted from Horwitz et al (1986) with scoring Likert’s scale and analyzed manually used Oetting’s scale to categorize students’ speaking anxiety levels. The result showed that there was significant progress in the students’ speaking ability and students’ speaking anxiety was reduce after being taught by using round robin brainstorming strategy.
