Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical connection abilities of students who have high, medium and low categories of ability in completing linear programming material. This type of research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were Mathematics Education students of Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai University in semester V of the 2022/2023 academic year. The research instrument consisted of a mathematical connection ability test and interview guidelines. The results of the study, students who have high category abilities are able to meet the mathematical connection ability indicators and can solve the problems given well. Furthermore, students who have moderate category abilities show a lack of understanding of the mathematical connection ability indicators, have not been able to have skills between concepts in mathematics, students who have moderate category abilities have difficulty in making mathematical models from the problems given. Students who have low ability categories, cannot meet the mathematical connection ability indicators, and cannot master concepts in mathematics, and also have difficulty in making mathematical models from the problems given. Conclusion, students with high ability can meet the indicators of mathematical connection ability and solve problems well, while students with medium and low ability have difficulty in understanding and comprehending mathematical concepts, as well as in creating mathematical models from the problems given. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the use of the number board method in improving the multiplication skills of grade III students at SD Negeri 6 Tangan-Tangan. The research method used was an experiment with a sample of 15 grade 3 students. The data collection techniques used were pre-test and post-test, and data analysis was carried out using the Paired Sample Test to compare the differences in scores before and after the intervention. The post-test results showed a significant increase in students' scores in mastering multiplication material after the application of the number board method. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of the number board method significantly improves students' abilities in multiplication material at SD Negeri 6 Tangan-Tangan. Abstract

This study aims to describe students' ability in solving story problems of fractional operations in terms of gender differences. This type of research is qualitative research conducted in class VII A of SMPN 15 Palu. The researcher chose 2 informants as test and interview subjects, namely one female student with high ability and one male student with high ability. The results of this study are 1) female students with high ability are able to understand the problem well, can compile a solution plan by providing detailed statements and are able to implement the solution plan and re-check the correctness of their explanations with different steps. 2) male students with high ability experience delays in understanding story problems are able to compile a solution plan but are less careful in implementing the solution plan. However, at the re-checking stage, male students are able to test the explanation with different steps so that they can correct their mistakes and find the right answer. The conclusion of this study is that there is a difference in the ability to solve story problems on operations regarding fractions between female and male students, female students with high ability can understand the problem, make a solution plan, and recheck the explanation well, while male students with high ability experience delays in understanding the problem, are less careful in implementing the plan, but can correct mistakes and find the right answer when checking again. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop student worksheets using a valid and practical Indonesian realistic approach and to determine the mathematical problem-solving abilities of junior high school students. This study is a development research using the 4D development model. The subjects in this study were students of SMP Negeri 13 Lubuklinggau class VII in the 2023/2024 academic year. Based on the results of the development research, it can be drawn that the results of the LKS developed were based on the validation of the validation questionnaire by the language validator. While for media validation, it is also in the valid category. For the practicality LKS developed, it is in the practical category based on the assessment of the practicality questionnaire given to students in small groups, namely 80.05% and based on the teacher's practicality assessment, it is in the practical category with a practicality percentage of 80%. Based on the test results given to 28 students of grade VII, data was obtained that for indicator number one, namely understanding the problem, it has a percentage of 66% included in the high category, for indicator number two, namely the indicator Determining the right plan, it has a percentage of 58% included in the sufficient category, for indicator number three, implementing the plan, it has a percentage of 53% included in the sufficient category, for indicator number four, it has a percentage of 51% included in the sufficient category. In conclusion, the LKS developed using the PMRI approach is declared valid both in terms of development and media, practical and able to meet the specified indicators. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of sharia insurance and sharia financing institutions on Indonesia's economic growth and to analyze the influence of conventional insurance data and conventional financing institutions both partially and simultaneously through empirical studies with a quantitative approach. Using an associative research method with a quantitative research approach. Multiple linear regression analysis OLS is used as a data analysis method. The data used comes from the official websites of OJK and BPS in the form of quarterly data for the period 2015-2022. The findings show that sharia and conventional insurance products and financing institutions each have an influence on Indonesia's economic growth. Insurance products and financing institutions are one type of investment. Where investment can increase economic growth because through investment it will increase production capacity. Sharia and conventional IKNB are a collection of financial institutions that are able to act as intermediaries for collecting and distributing capital so that they can help the economy and thereby increase Indonesia's economic growth. Conclusion, sharia and conventional insurance products and financing institutions play an important role in increasing Indonesia's economic growth, because both are forms of investment that can increase production capacity and help collect and distribute capital, which ultimately supports the running of the economy. Abstract

This study aims to describe the errors made by students in solving problems on the material of circle equations based on Newman's Error Analysis (NEA) reviewing gender differences. This type of research is Descriptive research with a qualitative approach conducted in class XI MIA 2 Madrasah Aliyah Alkhairaat Kalangkangan. This study uses a test and interview method. The subjects of the study were 36 students of class XI MIA 2 who were given a classification test to obtain data on high-ability students. Choosing 2 informants as test and interview subjects, namely one female student with the most errors and one male student with the most errors. The results of this study are (1) reading error; 2) understanding the problem (comprehension error); 3) transformation error (transformation error); 4) process skills error; 5) error in writing the final answer (encoding error). Conclusion, the teacher's ability to identify errors made by students is very important to support the improvement of the learning process. The errors found include errors in reading questions, understanding problems, and mathematical process errors that include transformation errors, process skills, and writing final answers. Teachers need to pay more attention to the early stages of understanding questions and ensure that students can master the skill process correctly in order to reduce errors in calculations and writing final answers. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to produce learning instructional trajectories (LIT) on material opportunities using the PMRI approach. This study uses a design research method. This study was conducted through three stages, namely preliminary experiments, design experiments and retrospective analysis. The study was conducted at SMK Negeri 2 Tugumulyo involving 6 students of class X ATP 5 in cycle 1 and 20 students of class X ATP 4 in cycle 2. Video recordings, observations, interviews, documentation, pre-tests and post-tests from pilot experiments and teaching experiments that will be analyzed by means of validity and reliability. The results of the instructional trajectory learning show that with the PMRI approach students can better understand the concept of opportunity, expected frequency, mutually exclusive and non-mutually exclusive opportunities using the context of the spinner game and can apply these concepts in solving problems in everyday life. Conclusion, the PMRI approach makes students better understand mathematical problems that are brought into everyday life problems. Keywords: PMRI, Design Research, Learning intructional trajectory

Abstract

This study aims to provide a description of students' mathematical literacy skills when working on SPLDV story problems seen from Adversity Quotients. The method applied in this study is a qualitative description. The subjects in this study included 20 students of class VIII A of SMP N 3 Ngawen. There were 3 students representing each type of Adversity Quotients. The instruments applied in this study were in the form of an AQ questionnaire, SPLDV story problems, and also interview guidelines. The results of this study on the climber subject already had good mathematical literacy because they succeeded in working on all indicators of mathematical literacy. The champers subject was already good in mathematical literacy, it was just that the champers subject needed more time than the climbers subject to understand the questions given. The champers subject was more quickly satisfied with his work than the climbers subject. While the quitter subject had a very low level of mathematical literacy because this subject had given up. The conclusion of this study is that climbers subjects have good mathematical literacy, champers subjects are quite good but need more time and are easily satisfied, while quitters subjects have low mathematical literacy because they have given up. Abstract

This study aims to describe the profile of algebraic problem solving of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Sigi in terms of learning style. The method used in this study is qualitative research. The results of this study describe the profile of algebraic problem solving of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Sigi based on learning style. Subjects with a structured learning style (SV) explain information in depth and in an organized manner, plan problem solving by changing verbal sentences into mathematical sentences, and re-check their reasons carefully. Subjects with a more open learning style (SA) explain information longer, plan and solve problems in a similar way, but do not check their explanations, resulting in errors. Meanwhile, subjects with a less structured learning style (SK) write information in a less organized manner, but still plan and solve problems with the right steps, and re-check the results. Overall, this study shows that learning style influences the way students understand, plan, and re-check algebraic problem solving. Keywords: Algebraic Form, Learning Style, Problem Solving.

Abstract

This research develops learning materials in the form of e-comics by utilizing ethnomathematics from Makassar culture, namely Jalangkote on social arithmetic material at the elementary school level with a self-paced instruction model. This research aims to explore how local cultural narratives can enrich mathematics content observing the feasibility and attractiveness of learning media. The research method employs the ADDIE Model, which is a three-stage process that encompasses design, development, and evaluation, for Research and Development (R&D). The development stage of this research is comprised of three phases, namely: (1) designing initial products (design) in the form of making storyboards and designing image designs for e-comic displays with Adobe premiere pro; (2) Development of initial products (development) in the form of validation evaluations by experts, which include the feasibility of material, media, and language, to ascertain the feasibility of the media being developed; and (3) perfecting initial products by making improvements to social arithmetic learning e-comics based on expert input. The results of this study have developed digital comics (e-comic) with an ethnomathematics approach on Social Arithmetic material for elementary school students declared valid according to expert standards. E-comic facilitates a more active learning experience with learning materials in an interesting and contextual environment. Keywords: e-comic, ethnomathematics, social arithmetic, learning media
