Abstract

Sharenting practices on family-vlogging YouTube channels have expanded the sphere of child-rearing from the private domain of the family into the digital public sphere. This study formulates ethical boundaries for sharenting among Muslim families by integrating the Islamic jurisprudence of ḥaḍānah, maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, and the Indonesian Child Protection Law. Content analysis was conducted on 40 publicly accessible videos purposively selected from four YouTube channels published between 2024 and 2026. A total of 152 scenes were subsequently assessed through doctrinal legal analysis based on maṣlaḥat al-maḥḍūn, the prevention of harm, maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, and statutory provisions concerning child protection. The study identifies three typological categories: documentary content comprising 75 scenes, emotional exposure comprising 47 scenes, and commercial content comprising 30 scenes. Documentary content carries the risk of creating a persistent and traceable digital record of children’s lives, whereas emotional exposure requires particular restrictions when children’s illness, fear, embarrassment, or private experiences are transformed into public narratives. Commercial content requires careful assessment of its benefits, the burden of content production imposed on children, and the availability of meaningful opportunities for children to refuse participation. This study positions the jurisprudence of ḥaḍānah as an evaluative framework, maqāṣid al-sharīʿah as an instrument for balancing risks and benefits, and the Child Protection Law as a positive legal framework. Its principal contribution lies in proposing precautionary guidelines and a pre-upload assessment mechanism without making determinations regarding specific legal violations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the public relations communication strategy of PTPN IV Regional 1 Medan in implementing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs in the fields of education, social welfare, and religion. The study also examines community responses to CSR communication and the obstacles faced by the Public Relations team in delivering CSR information to beneficiaries. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving public relations officers, company management, and community members who received CSR program benefits. The findings show that the CSR communication strategy implemented by PTPN IV Regional 1 received positive responses from the community. The messages delivered by the Public Relations team were considered clear, simple, and understandable because they explained the objectives, forms of assistance, target beneficiaries, and benefits of the CSR programs. Face-to-face communication was found to be the most effective channel, supported by social media, online publications, and activity documentation. The strategy also encouraged community participation, increased public trust, and strengthened the company’s positive image. However, several obstacles were identified, including uneven information distribution, differences in public understanding, limited digital access, low digital literacy, and internal coordination challenges. Overall, the study confirms that effective CSR communication requires clear messages, appropriate media selection, credible communicators, and participatory engagement with the community.

Abstract

The rise of digital fraud and cybercrime on social media in 2024 has become a serious threat to the economic stability and social security of Indonesian society. Phishing, fraudulent investment schemes, illegal trade, and the exploitation of personal data through digital platforms have become increasingly widespread, with more sophisticated and systematic modes of operation. This study aims to interpret Qur’anic economic verses through a thematic exegesis approach in order to identify theological and ethical foundations for addressing these problems. The method used is library research with a thematic exegesis approach (al-tafsīr al-mawḍū‘ī), which collects and analyzes Qur’anic verses related to economics, transactions, and business ethics. The findings show that the Qur’an provides a comprehensive conceptual framework through the principles of honesty (al-ṣidq), justice (al-‘adl), transparency (al-waḍāḥah), and the prohibition of fraud (al-ghish). Verses such as QS. al-Baqarah [2]: 188, QS. an-Nisā’ [4]: 29, QS. al-Muṭaffifīn [83]: 1–6, and QS. al-Anfāl [8]: 27 provide a strong moral foundation for developing spiritually based digital literacy. This study concludes that Qur’anic economic interpretation using a thematic exegesis approach offers a holistic solution by integrating the sacred dimension of religious texts with the profane dimension of contemporary digital realities, thereby fostering collective public awareness in combating digital crime through the strengthening of Islamic economic character.

Abstract

Basic Training (Latsar) for Civil Servant Candidates (CPNS) constitutes a strategic policy instrument designed to internalize the core values of the state civil apparatus in order to promote the continuous improvement of public service quality. This study aims to evaluate the sustainability of the implementation of the ANEKA core values—Accountability, Nationalism, Public Ethics, Quality Commitment, and Anti-Corruption—among alumni of the 2019 Batch of Group III CPNS Basic Training within the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of North Sumatra Province. Employing a qualitative approach grounded in Kirkpatrick’s training evaluation model at Level 3 (Job Behaviour) and Level 4 (Results), this study critically examines the strategic roles of coaches and mentors, as well as the use of information technology, in facilitating the transfer of training. The study involved 310 informants selected through purposive sampling, comprising Latsar alumni, colleagues, mentors or immediate supervisors, heads of work units, and coaches from the Medan Religious Education and Training Centre. Data were collected through in-depth structured interviews, participatory observation in public service units, and document analysis of actualization reports. Data were analysed using the interactive model developed by Miles and Huberman. The findings indicate that, although participants’ actualization performance during the training was assessed as highly satisfactory, the consistency and sustainability of its implementation declined significantly after the participants were formally appointed as full civil servants. This decline was attributed to weak post-training monitoring systems, limited continuous guidance from mentors, and the strong influence of conventional workplace cultures, particularly seniority. The optimization of information technology and the strengthening of organizational commitment were identified as key determinants in maintaining the sustainability of public service quality.

Abstract

This research analyzes the social tensions experienced by traditional fishermen in Serdang Bedagai Regency due to fisheries modernization. Modernization including new fishing technologies, large capital influxes, and regulatory changes are changing resource access, social structures, and work norms in coastal communities. Using a critical qualitative approach through interviews, participant observation, and policy analysis, this study found several forms of tension: competition between traditional fishermen and capital operators, shifts in social hierarchies due to unequal access to technology and capital, intra-community conflicts regarding profit sharing, and the marginalization of local knowledge in fisheries policy. Modernization provides efficiency benefits and increased income for some fishermen, but increases vulnerability for those who are unable to adapt. Recommendations include inclusive policies such as contextual technology assistance, access to micro capital, recognition of traditional fishermen's rights, and increased community participation in policy formulation to ensure fair modernization.

Abstract

In the era of digital disruption, brand reputation has become a highly fragile intangible asset, susceptible to negative sentiments. This phenomenon demands a transformation in the role of social media agencies, shifting from mere content promoters to guardians of corporate image. This study aims to analyze the digital marketing strategies implemented by Fedia Creative, a social media agency, in managing and maintaining client brand reputation. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection was conducted through participatory observation and in-depth interviews with key informants selected via purposive sampling, including the Head of Digital Marketing, Social Media Specialist, and Content Creator. Data analysis follows the interactive model by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The primary focus of this research highlights the agency's functional shift from offensive strategies (brand awareness) to defensive strategies (reputation guarding). The findings are expected to delineate Fedia Creative's working mechanisms, ranging from strategic content planning and audience interaction management to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for crisis communication mitigation. This research provides a theoretical contribution regarding an agency-based reputation management model that is adaptive to the dynamics of algorithms and digital audience psychology.

Abstract

The development of e-economy platforms in 2025 has brought significant transformation to the Islamic banking industry, particularly regarding the determination of fees and profit margins, which often gives rise to legal controversies. This article analyzes Qur’anic economic interpretation through a thematic exegesis approach to determine the legality of administrative fees, provision fees, and profit margins in digital transactions within Islamic banks. Using the thematic exegesis method (al-tafsīr al-mawḍū‘ī) with an integrative-economic approach, this study examines Qur’anic verses related to muamalah, usury (riba), and transactional justice. The findings show that several fee-setting practices in Islamic banks on e-economy platforms require recontextualization based on maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, particularly in protecting wealth (ḥifẓ al-māl) and life/welfare (ḥifẓ al-nafs). This study concludes that the legal determination of fees and margins must consider the principles of mutual assistance (ta‘āwun) and justice (‘adl), while avoiding hidden elements of riba, gharar, and ḍarar within digital transaction structures. These findings provide a theological foundation for contemporary fatwas and Financial Services Authority regulations related to Islamic fintech.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of Islamic values in the film Pantaskah Aku Berhijab through Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis, focusing on the concept of hijab as a symbol of self-protection from sexual violence among students. The study is motivated by the increasing number of sexual violence cases, the importance of Islamic value-based media literacy, and the influence of film as a medium in shaping students’ perspectives and character. This research employs a descriptive qualitative interpretive approach, with data collected through observation of film scenes, documentation, and interviews. The data were analyzed using Roland Barthes’ semiotic theory, which includes denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings. The findings show that the film represents the hijab as an Islamic identity that functions not only as a means of covering the body, but also as a symbol of spiritual transformation, religious awareness, and the formation of Muslim women’s identity. In addition, the hijab is represented as a symbol of self-protection encompassing moral, psychological, and spiritual dimensions, without positioning it as the sole factor in preventing sexual violence. The film also represents Islamic moral values, such as preserving personal honor (hifz al-‘ird), mutual respect, maintaining boundaries in social interactions, responsibility, empathy, and the formation of healthy relationships as part of efforts to prevent sexual violence. This study concludes that Pantaskah Aku Berhijab serves as an educational medium capable of representing Islamic values contextually and contributing to the strengthening of character education, media literacy, and students’ awareness of the importance of preserving personal honor and building healthy social relationships based on Islamic teachings.

Abstract

This study discusses the dress code: Muslim fashion trends in modern times. The purpose of the author's research on Muslim fashion trends in modern times is to provide practical information on how to dress properly in modern times as a Muslim woman based on the Qur'an and Hadith and to add to the scientific treasury in the field of good dress codes in modern times. The type of research the author uses in this study can be said to be normative research or in other words library research. The approach and type of normative research that the author means is that the object of study being studied includes basic rules or norms of Sharia law. The author's approach is normative, namely the author tries to answer and explain what is available from applicable legal standards, then analyzes based on the theory used in referring to the Qur'an and Hadith. The results of the author's research on Muslim fashion trends in modern times are that it is not permissible to wear clothes that form the curves of the body so that women's genitals are visible, even to the point that their skin color is visible. The author quotes Sheikh al-Albani as saying, "The purpose of Muslim clothing is to avoid seduction. This goal can only be achieved if women wear loose clothing. Tight clothing, even though it covers the skin, still reveals the curves of the body, either completely or partially. This still tempts men's gaze and is undoubtedly damaging. Therefore, Muslim clothing should be loose (not tight).
