Abstract

Abstract Lima Puluh Kota District is one of the dominant food crop-producing provinces in West Sumatera. This activity produces an amount of waste. The research was conducted at 15 points in the sub-district Lareh Sago Halaban with a purposive sampling method and based on SNI 19-3964-1994. The results showed the pre-harvest waste generation was 12,024,480 tons/year or 168,255,706 m3/year, whereas the post-harvest waste generation was 1,283,828,005 tons/year or 17,664,025,689 m3/year. The pre-harvest waste compositions 46.835% agricultural waste, 25.194% rubbish, and 28.020% agricultural hazardous waste, though the post-harvest waste was 100% agricultural waste. Physical characteristics obtained 0.232 kg/L of pre-harvest waste and 0.052 kg/L of post-harvest waste. Chemical characteristics equally proximate analysis with water content 36.9538%, volatile content 61.0327%, ash content 1.4870%, fixed carbon 0.5265%, and the C/N ratio obtained 18.0797. The biodegradability fraction was 65,7044%. The potential for recycling the pre-harvest waste was 52.413%, while the post-harvest waste was 100%. The recommendations will probably give, like reducing waste from chemical fertilizer packaging with organic fertilizer, utilizing packaging waste as a substitute for polybags, processing plant waste into compost, and processing agricultural hazardous waste to third parties.Keywords: characteristic, composition, food crop waste, recycling potentials, waste generation

Abstract

Proyek pembangunan drainase di Perumahan Cengkong dilaksanakan CV. XYZ sebagai kontraktor yang handal. Untuk menyelesaikan proyek tersebut, CV. XYZ membutuhkan waktu penyelesaian proyek 60 hari kerja (2 bulan) dengan target 2 x 145,00 M3 dengan ketinggian drainase 0,90 m dengan melakukan analisis percepatan proyek dengan pendekatan CPM-PERT. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui waktu yang optimal dari proyek pembangunan Drainase sehingga meminimalisir keterlambatan proyek dan bisa dijadikan acuan dalam evaluasi tingkat efektivitas dan efisiensi penyelesaian proyek. Hasil analisis dari proyek pembangunan drainase di Dusun Cengkong III yaitu dengan menggunakan penerapan metode CPM pada penyelesaian proyek pembangunan drainase ini didapat suatu jalur kritis yaitu kode aktivitas A – B – C – D – F – G dengan perolehan waktu penyelesaian yang optimal yaitu selama 52 hari. Hasil ini menjadikan proyek lebih efektif karena estimasi awal yang ditetapkan oleh perusahaan dalam melaksanakan proyek pembangunan ini yaitu selama 60 hari tanpa menggunakan metode. Dengan menggunakan penerapan metode Program Evaluation and Review Technique didapat expected time dari proyek pembangunan ini yaitu selama 51,7 hari berdasarkan jalur kritis yang telah diketahui sebelumnya dari metode Critical Path Method. Pada kedua metode ini didapat waktu penyelesaian optimal yang sama apabila dibulatkan yaitu selama 52 hari, sehingga berdasarkan metode PERT probabilitas penyelesaian proyek pembangunan drainase dapat dilaksanakan yaitu sebesar 99,97%.

Abstract

AbstractNorth Aceh Regency has 12,750 ha of unused land that has the potential to become rice cultivation. This unused land becomes a paddy field because it has a large enough area and contains elements needed by rice plants. PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda carried out a program to improve sandy land into fertile rice fields called AMELASIR (Ameliorasi Lahan Berpasir) with a plot of 278 m2. This program is carried out by offering an ameliorant and intensive tillage. The ingredients added are PIM organic fertilizer, clay, manure, rice straw compost, Polivit PIM, and Urea PIM. The results of this program indicate an increase in rice yields from year to year. In the first planting season, the harvest reached 3 tons/ha, in the second planting season, it reached 3.45 tons/ha, and in the third planting season, the harvest reached 4.5 tons/ha. This area has an index of fauna biodiversity H’ 3,22 and flora biodiversity H’ 2,28. The conversion from unused land to paddy fields also increases biodiversity, attracting several fauna species, namely 12 birds, one reptile species, two mammal species, and 20 insect species. The AMELASIR program also causes the soil to become more fertile for some trees, so four species of trees, two species of poles, eight species of saplings, and 16 species of seedlings grow in the area.Keywords: amelioration, sand, paddy field, biodiversity, species

Abstract

Shrimp shell waste has not been widely used as an air pollutant adsorbent, most of the previous studies using chitosan adsorbent were not extracted from shrimp shell waste but from the fabrics chitosan powder directly. Therefore, this research combines the use of shrimp shell waste as an adsorbent to reduce CO levels from motorized vehicles. This study uses the observation method, namely direct research on the source of CO pollutants, especially motor vehicles. Tests on motorized vehicles took place with time variations of 10, 30, 50 minutes with variations in the mass ratio of chitosan of 1: 1 gram, 1: 2 gram, and 1: 3 gram. Extraction of shrimp shells into chitosan using deproteination, demineralization and deacetylation processes. In additon, the results of shrimp shell extraction in the form of chitosan were analyzed using Fourier Transform Infra-Red spectroscopy to determine the degree of deacetylation of chitosan. Furthermore, chitosan is used to reduce carbon monoxide levels from motorized vehicles by being glued to a test kit that has been made then plugged into the exhaust of a motorized vehicle and tested using a CO Analyzer. The results of the effectiveness test showed that the highest value was located in the 30-minute time variation, with the highest effectiveness value obtained at the 20th minute with a variation in the mass ratio of 1: 3 grams, which was 61.5%.

Abstract

Abstract Los Beef H. Jarkasih is an MSME engaged in beef trading. When the market management was successful, it turned out that there were complaints from butchers regarding their health. The initial assumption was that this was due to inadequate work facilities, such as meat cutting activities which were carried out in a standing position and carried out for a long period of time, namely 12 hours per day. This study aims to determine the risk of injury due to activities carried out by workers. The settlement method used is the Nordic Body Map and Rapid Upper Limb Assessment methods. Data collection is done by direct observation and in-depth observation when workers are carrying out work. The findings of the study showed that the NBM score was 46, which means the level of risk of injury is still low and no corrective action is needed. Then for the RULA score, which is 4, which means further research is needed and changes may be needed. Thus, it can be concluded that the posture of beef slaughter workers has a low level of risk and is not dangerous and workers do not need to improve their work posture.Keywords: work biomechanics, ergonomics, musculoskeletal disorders, NBM, posture, RULA

Abstract

Lingkungan kerja dapat diartikan sebagai lingkungan kerja secara keseluruhan, tempat orang melakukan aktivitas kerjanya, cara kerjanya, dan dampak pekerjaannya maka dari itu dapat dipastikan bahwa lingkungan kerja sangan berpengaruh pada proses produksi yang ada di suatu pekerjaan namun lingkungan kerja yang dimiliki CV Mulia Tata Sejahtera masih terbilang belum optimal sehingga mampu mempengaruhi produktivitas. Maka dari itu dilakukan analisis menggunakan metode 5S untuk  dapat mengoptimalkan lingkungan kerja menjadi lebih efisien dan meningkatkan produktivitas karena konsep 5S terbukti efektif untuk menghasilkan lingkungan kerja yang baik dan mampu meningkatkan suasana kerja dan meningkatkan output produktivitas. Berdasarkan pengolahan data didapatkan skor sebesar 44 dari 90 atau sebesar 48,89% sehingga dinyatakan bahwa lingkungan kerja di CV Mulia Tata Sejahtera dalam keadaan buruk selanjutnya dilakukan perbaikan kondisi lingkungan kerja untuk meningkatkan skor hingga mencapai kategori baik bahkan sangat baik. Adapun beberapa saran lanjutan untuk penelitian mendatang di antaranya memperbanyak referensi mengenai metode 5S dan disarankan dapat menggunakan metode yang lainnya.

Abstract

Dams are infrastructure that have potential hazards if they are not monitored and maintained. The potential hazard of a dam can be identified through a risk assessment. Risk assessment can consist of risk analysis and risk evaluation. The Palasari Dam, the Gerokgak Dam and the Benel Dam were built to be used to supply water to the northern part of Bali Island. This study aims to determine the level of risk posed by the three dams. Dam risk assessment in the study used the modified ICOLD method and the Andersen modified method. The results of the risk assessment are the basis for consideration in determining maintenance and repair priorities. The results of the dam risk index assessment study, using the Andersen modification method, Palasari Dams, Gerokgak Dams, and Benel Dams have a "Satisfactory" classification based on the safety value of the dam. Whereas with the modified ICOLD method the Palasari Dam and the Gerokgak Dam has a "High" risk classification, and the Benel Dam have a "Medium" risk classification.

Abstract

Stillage merupakan produk samping dari proses distilasi pada industri pembuatan etanol. Bahan baku etanol dapat berasal dari proses fermentasi tetes tebu yang telah dicampur dengan ragi dan bahan penolong lain. Tetes tebu merupakan hasil samping dari pemurnian gula tebu pada industri gula. Pemanfaatan produk samping proses industri merupakan suatu upaya untuk mengurangi buangan ke lingkungan serta memberi nilai tambah dengan memproduksi hasil yang lebih bernilai ekonomi. Namun demikian, stillage apabila terbuang ke badan air permukaan dapat membahayakan kehidupan biota perairan. Hal ini dikarenakan stillage memiliki kandungan organik yang tinggi dengan kadar Kebutuhan Oksigen Kimiawi dapat mencapai 90.000 mg/L. Stillage juga mengandung kalium, fosfor dan sulfat yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pupuk alternatif pada perkebunan tebu. Artikel ini mendiskusikan altenatif pengelolaan stillage pada industri etanol. Alternatif pengelolaan yang disajikan merupakan hasil temuan nyata di lapangan, namun angka-angka yang digunakan dalam analisis merupakan nilai asumsi. Simulasi pemilihan dilakukan dengan menggunakan perhitungan Net Present Value (NPV) yang dipadukan dengan model Pohon Keputusan, serta dilanjutkan dengan uji sensitivitas model Pohon Keputusan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa alternatif terpilih dengan menggunakan perhitungan NPV dapat dipertajam dengan memasukkan beberapa kemungkinan kejadian yang mempengaruhi pelaksanaan alternatif pengelolaan. Selanjutnya, penggunaan uji sensitivitas dapat memberikan gambaran bagi pengambil keputusan terkait potensi risiko dari setiap alternatif pengelolaan.

Abstract

AbstractThe management of the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) system by PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda was previously still used to fill out KPI forms and required a process of collecting supporting documents. This impacts the assessment process's duration and the error in inputting values in the scoring system. So, we need an employee performance appraisal system that can improve time efficiency and the accuracy of the assessment. PT PIM innovated an Efficient and Transparent Integrated Employee Performance System Management program, which aims to measure employee performance which is the basis for competency improvement, career planning, and development, calculation of remuneration, awarding achievement incentives and achieving company performance targets. PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda first implemented this innovation in 2021, which began with the preparation of individual KPI contracts, socialization of individual KPIs, and employee training. The implementation of the program at PT PIM has been running since 2022. The environmental impact caused by the generation of waste is reduced by an absolute value of 0.525 tons and cost savings of IDR 10.080.000.Keywords: management, KPI, efficient, transparent, paper waste

Abstract

Areca nut (Areca catesyu Linn) contains chemical compounds that are beneficial to health, namely tannins, alkaloids, fats, essential oils, water, and a little sugar. The tannin content in areca nuts reaches 17%. Separation of tannins in areca nuts is done by an extraction method using ethanol as a solvent. This research focuses on optimizing the effects of areca nut particle size (40–120 mesh) and ethanol solvent concentration (20–80%) on the tannin yield (%) using Design Expert 13, Response Surface Methodology (RSM), and Central Composite Design (CCD). The results showed that the influence of the two variables and their interactions was very significant. Optimal conditions were obtained with a particle size of 120 mesh, a 50% ethanol solvent concentration, a 16.7% pectin content, and a desirability of 0.92
