Abstract

This study aims to analyze the social-emotional development of early childhood and examine its implications for non-formal education. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research was conducted at TK Pertiwi Merauke, involving children aged 3–6 years selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and field notes, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that children's social-emotional development varies according to their age levels. Children aged 3–4 years tend to exhibit egocentric behavior, children aged 4–5 years begin to develop social interaction skills, while children aged 5–6 years demonstrate more mature abilities in empathy, cooperation, and emotional regulation. The development is influenced by several factors, including family environment, teacher roles, and peer interaction. The study reveals that non-formal education plays a strategic role in strengthening children's social-emotional development through contextual and continuous learning experiences within family and community environments. However, the integration between formal education and non-formal education is not yet optimal. Therefore, a holistic educational approach is needed through collaboration among schools, families, and communities to support optimal social-emotional development in early childhood.

Abstract

Community economic empowerment is an important strategy in improving welfare and independence based on local potential. Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) function as village economic institutions that manage resources and develop productive community businesses. In the context of tourism villages, BUMDes play a strategic role in integrating tourism potential with community economic activities. However, the implementation of empowerment through BUMDes still faces challenges, particularly in community participation, equitable distribution of benefits, and management quality. In addition, studies that specifically examine the process of community economic empowerment through BUMDes in tourism village contexts remain limited. This study aims to analyze the process of community economic empowerment through BUMDes Arya Kamuning in Kaduela Tourism Village, Kuningan Regency, as well as to identify supporting and inhibiting factors and the outcomes achieved. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method through interviews, observations, and documentation involving seven informants. The results show that the empowerment process is carried out through stages of awareness, capacity building, empowerment, and independence. BUMDes plays a role in creating business opportunities, increasing income, and strengthening community skills. Supporting factors include tourism potential and village government support, while inhibiting factors include limited human resources and fluctuating tourist visits. Overall, empowerment has a positive impact, although institutional strengthening and increased community participation are still needed.

Abstract

This research explores the life philosophy of the Miduana Indigenous community in Naringgul, Cianjur, as a form of enduring local wisdom. Through a qualitative case study, the research identifies how this community harmonizes Islamic teachings with ancestral Sundanese traditions. Key findings reveal that their "way of life" is integrated into ecological management, such as using traditional astronomy for farming and preserving "forbidden forests" (Leuweung Larangan). The study concludes that the resilience of Miduana’s culture amidst modernization is sustained by the moral authority of the Kasepuhan (elders) and early character education for the youth.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the suboptimal character development of first-grade students at SDN 1 Kalang, Seruyan Regency, characterized by low levels of honesty, courage, cooperation, and attentiveness during the learning process. The study aimed to enhance character education through the implementation of the traditional game Inting-Inting Domprak. The method employed was Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted over two cycles comprising planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were all first-grade students at SDN 1 Kalang. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and field notes, then analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. The results indicate that the traditional game *Inting-Inting Domprak* successfully improved student character across several aspects: honesty, intelligence, fairness, cooperation, assertiveness, imagination, ambition, courage, and attentiveness. At the class level, the percentage of students in the "Not Yet Developed" (BB) category decreased from 30.56% in Cycle I to 0% in Cycle II. Conversely, the categories of "Developed as Expected" (BSH) and "Developed Very Well" (BSB) increased, reaching a combined 94.44%. These findings demonstrate that traditional games can serve as effective learning media to foster student character through active, enjoyable, and meaningful learning experiences, while simultaneously strengthening the implementation of character education in primary schools.
