Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the zero waste counseling program in improving public health within urban families, specifically in the context of the Kang Pisman program (Reduce, Separate, and Utilize). The research was motivated by the increasing household waste problem in urban areas, which directly impacts community health. A mixed methods approach was employed using an explanatory sequential design. Quantitative data were first collected from 40 respondents through  questionnaires,  followed  by  qualitative  data  through  interviews  and  observations  to strengthen the findings. The results indicate that the zero waste counseling program significantly improves public health, as shown by a correlation value of 0.7494 with a contribution of 59.6%. The program encouraged changes in knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to waste management, such  as waste separation, reducing  single-use plastics, and  reusing both organic and inorganic materials. However, several challenges remain, including limited supporting facilities, low participation among some residents, and persistent old habits. Overall, the study concludes that zero waste counseling is effective in fostering awareness and healthy living practices in urban families and has great potential as a sustainable strategy to enhance community health quality.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of Village-Owned Enterprises (Badan Usaha Milik Desa/BUMDes) in empowering rural communities through layer chicken farming in Giriasih Village, Batujajar District, West Bandung Regency. The research aims to analyze the impact of BUMDes on economic and social empowerment, the supporting and inhibiting factors, and the process of community empowerment through livestock activities. Employing a mixed-method approach with an explanatory sequential design, the research combined quantitative questionnaires (Likert scale) distributed to community members with qualitative data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that BUMDes significantly contributes to improving community welfare by providing training, funding, and operational support in poultry farming. Key supporting factors include strong community participation and available local resources, while inhibiting factors involve limited capital, fluctuating feed prices, and lack of managerial skills. The process of empowerment through BUMDes is manifested in collective planning, skill development, and enhanced community independence in agribusiness management. The study concludes that BUMDes plays a crucial role in fostering self-reliance, economic resilience, and sustainable rural development.

Abstract

Children's socio-emotional development is influenced by parental caregiving patterns, including democratic parenting styles. Many parents are inconsistent in applying caregiving patterns, sometimes influenced by their environment such as family, neighbors, or social media. Inappropriate caregiving leads to children having low self-confidence and difficulties in expressing emotions. This study was conducted to reveal the positive impacts of democratic parenting to encourage more effective caregiving. The research method used is a mixed-method approach with an explanatory sequential model, employing quantitative techniques through questionnaires and qualitative techniques through interviews, observations, and document studies, with a sample of 25 respondents. The results show that democratic parenting has a positive influence on children's socio-emotional development, enhancing their ability to manage emotions, understand feelings, and show empathy. These findings emphasize the   importance   of   consistently   applying   democratic   parenting   to   support   children's   socio - emotional development.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how the religious character of children is cultivated through the study of the Akhlak Lil Banin book at Pondok Pesantren Darul Inabah, located in Sukasari Village, Gununghalu District, West Bandung Regency. The background of this research is rooted in the urgent need for religious character education as a fundamental aspect in shaping children's personalities amidst the challenges of globalization and technological advancement, which often negatively affect moral values among the younger generation. The research adopts a mix methods approach with a convergent design, combining both qualitative and quantitative data collection. Data were gathered through direct observation of the religious study sessions and in-depth interviews with five key informants: a student, a teacher, a boarding school supervisor, a parent, and the head of the pesantren. Qualitative data were analyzed using the Miles & Huberman interactive model, while quantitative data were analyzed descriptively. The findings reveal that the study of Akhlak Lil Banin is conducted regularly and systematically,  using communicative  and  contextual  teaching  methods.  Religious  values  such  as honesty, politeness, responsibility, and discipline are instilled through habituation and role modeling. Students showed positive changes in behavior and increased religious awareness. The conducive pesantren environment also played a significant role in reinforcing these values in their daily lives. The study concludes that the Akhlak Lil Banin study program serves as an effective medium for instilling religious character in children and can be used as a model for character education in other Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of democratic parenting by parents in minimizing juvenile delinquency in RT 03 RW 04, Cicangkang Girang Village, Sindangkerta District, West Bandung Regency. The phenomenon of juvenile delinquency in this area appears in the form of undisciplined behavior, lack of responsibility, and a tendency to violate social norms. Through the application of democratic parenting, parents are expected to instill values of responsibility, discipline, and open communication within the family. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach involving 15 parents who have adolescent children, selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that democratic parenting is implemented through two-way communication, shared responsibility, and parental role modeling. This parenting style positively influences the reduction of juvenile delinquent behavior, as evidenced by improved discipline, adherence to social norms, and mutual respect within families. Therefore, the implementation of democratic parenting proves effective as a form of family-based education in preventing juvenile delinquency in community environments.

Abstract

Kramat Village faces a significant decline in the fisheries sector due to the development of the JIIPEindustrial area, which has impacted fishermen's income and compelled housewives to seek alternativesources of livelihood. This community service activity aimed to empower housewives throughtraining on mangrove potential recognition and product innovation design based on local resources.The methods used included pre-test, material presentation, product design practicum sessions,post-test, and appreciation. The activity was attended by 12 target participants at Kramat Village Hall.The material covered identification of safe-to-process mangrove species, processing techniques, andproduct innovation design through group discussions. The training activity demonstrated animprovement in participants’ understanding of mangrove potential, reflected in their increased abilityto identify safe mangrove species and design local resource–based product ideas, as indicated by therise in average scores from 80.8 in the pre-test to 90.8 in the post-test. All participants were able toidentify at least three types of mangroves that can be processed and design innovative product ideas ingroups. This activity serves as the initial step for sustainable entrepreneurship development forhousewives in Kramat Village to improve family welfare independently and competitively through theutilization of local mangrove potential.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low level of discipline among students at PAUD Baitul Ilmi in Bekasi Regency. This study aims to determine the application of democratic guidance patterns in developing discipline attitudes in early childhood at PAUD Baitul Ilmi in Bekasi Regency. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research approach. Data collection methods used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the application of democratic guidance patterns on the development of children's discipline has a positive impact on children's behavior, which is characterized by an increased ability to obey rules, take responsibility for shared activities and facilities, and the courage to express opinions and control behavior.

Abstract

This research aims to implement a learning model based on the case method and team-based projects in the Indonesian Language course to assess student competencies. The study applies a quantitative approach with a descriptive method, which seeks to provide a real picture of students' soft skills and hard skills. The research population consists of semester 1 students at Poltekkes Mataram, with data collection techniques including document study, questionnaire completion, and observation. The emerging data will be developed into self-assessment and peer-assessment instruments. The research instruments are designed based on aspects of soft skills and hard skills within the case method and team-based learning model, using a Likert scale to evaluate Poltekkes Mataram students' competencies. The results show that hard skills are higher, with an average score of 86 categorized as very good, covering data collection, report preparation, academic writing, data visualization, and referencing skills. Meanwhile, soft skills average 83.9, categorized as good, encompassing five key aspects: communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership.

Abstract

The Independent Internship Program at Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang, conducted at PKBM Nurul Islam, is part of a government initiative to foster self-reliance and economic empowerment among learners through a three-month entrepreneurship program. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the entrepreneurship program in developing 4P marketing strategies within the independent internship framework. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving PKBM administrators, entrepreneurship tutors, and learners as subjects. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the program—executed through planning, implementation, and evaluation phases—successfully enhanced the participants' basic understanding of 4P marketing strategies. However, implementation still faced challenges regarding product packaging, pricing, distribution, and digital promotion. The study recommends strengthening entrepreneurship education to make it more practical and offers a novel contribution by examining the implementation of 4P marketing strategies through independent internships within the PKBM setting.

Abstract

Studi ini meneliti implementasi program pengembangan kepemimpinan melalui pendidikan kepanduan bagi anak di Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak Kelas II Bengkulu (LPKA) di Bengkulu, Indonesia. Meskipun pengakuan terhadap potensi rehabilitatif pendidikan nonformal semakin meningkat, penelitian yang mengeksplorasi bagaimana pendekatan pembelajaran pengalaman terstruktur, khususnya metode kepanduan, dapat mengembangkan kompetensi kepemimpinan pada anak yang terlibat dalam sistem peradilan masih terbatas. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dengan enam partisipan (kepala pengembangan, instruktur kepanduan, dan partisipan anak), dan analisis dokumentasi. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa program kepanduan beroperasi melalui perencanaan sistematis yang melibatkan penilaian kebutuhan dan koordinasi pemangku kepentingan, implementasi mingguan yang menekankan metode pembelajaran pengalaman (belajar sambil melakukan, kegiatan berbasis tim, dan pengembangan keterampilan progresif), dan evaluasi berkelanjutan yang memantau perubahan perilaku dalam disiplin, tanggung jawab, kerja sama, dan kepercayaan diri. Program ini mengintegrasikan prinsip-prinsip kepanduan Baden-Powell dengan siklus pembelajaran pengalaman Kolb, menciptakan peluang terstruktur bagi kaum muda untuk berlatih kepemimpinan melalui rotasi peran tim, tantangan di luar ruangan, dan pencapaian berbasis keterampilan yang dilacak melalui sistem Syarat Kecakapan Umum (SKU). Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam atribut kepemimpinan peserta, khususnya dalam disiplin diri, kerja tim, pengambilan keputusan, dan pengaturan emosi. Studi ini berkontribusi pada literatur yang terbatas tentang intervensi pendidikan nonformal dalam koreksi anak dengan menunjukkan bagaimana program kepanduan yang disesuaikan secara budaya dapat berfungsi sebagai alat pengembangan karakter dan kepemimpinan yang efektif. Temuan ini memiliki implikasi penting untuk merancang program rehabilitasi yang mempersiapkan anak yang terlibat dalam sistem peradilan untuk reintegrasi masyarakat yang sukses.
