Abstract

One of the problems that often occurs in densely populated settlements is fire disasters which can cause material losses and also cause casualties. Dense settlements in Pannampu Village areas that have a high frequency of fire occurrences. The purpose of this community service activity is to disseminate community preparedness and direct fire prevention in dense residential areas. The partner areas in RW 04 Pannampu Village, Tallo District, Makassar City. Data collection techniques are observation, documentation, and interviews. The data analysis techniques are descriptive qualitative analysis, quantitative and spatial analysis. The data collected is used in the preparation of directives in the form of socialization and discussions with the community, community leaders and the academic community. The results of service activities produce 5 factors that affect the level of fire vulnerability in a settlement, namely building density, building materials, road width, affordability of water sources and fire stations. There are also 6 scenarios of evacuation routes from 4 points of vulnerable locations to Temporary Evacuation Places (TES), and 4 fire extinguishers that can be used as a basis for consideration in choosing the right evacuation route. Adaptive and curative efforts are in the form of developing disaster response groups as preparation management in dealing with fire disasters. The socialization results showed a significant level of change by the community where the level of interest in community participation and understanding of the concept of handling fire hazards increased. Before the activity was carried out, the level of understanding of the concept of fire disaster management/mitigation was 35.5%, but after the socialization activity was carried out it increased to 75.8%. Thus there is an increase in public understanding of 40.3%. This shows that the output of the socialization of community preparedness for fire disasters was successful.

Abstract

The partner of this community service activity is Islamic Boarding Schoo of Tahfidzul Qur'an of Miftahul Jannah Putri in Pamanjengan, Moncongloe, Maros Regency. This boarding school guides 10 students from underprivileged families. The partner's main problem is the difficulty in meeting water needs for daily needs because there is no clean water service available through the network of Regional Drinking Water Companies and limited groundwater production from existing bore wells. Therefore, the boarding school manager and students tries to get ground water by developing the addition of groundwater wells as seen from the results of the pre-test. This boarding school has an area of 800 m2 making it possible to develop a better groundwater borehole. However, there are concerns about its success because several well drillings that have been carried out in its vicinity have not succeeded in obtaining water of the quality and quantity as expected. Therefore, this groundwater well development activity is carried out in stages based on a groundwater science approach which includes the stages of surface mapping, geoelectrical measurement, groundwater drilling, well construction and pumping. Drilling was carried out to a depth of 60 meters. The drilled well was pumped at a flow rate of 0.40 liters/second (1,440 liters/hour) and reached steady state at a water table drop of 1.60 meters. Thus, this community service activity was declared successful in accordance with the output target with the availability of groundwater production wells of good quality and sufficient quantity to meet the needs of the boarding school. The post-test results show that the existence of the well gives confidence that water needs will be met with additional groundwater drilled wells from this activity.

Abstract

Brick is a type of building material that functions as a wall. The processing of bricks requires land: a place to store the material, process, print, dry, burn, and store the bricks that have been burned and are ready to be marketed. The layout of the brick processing is not organized and the condition of the brick processing site (Bantilan) is very standard which uses makeshift construction. This activity aims to increase public awareness of the need for planning a building construction system for processing bricks to support the economy of the community. This stage of community empowerment involves the community directly in gathering information: identification of areas, needs, habits, and activities. The results of this community service show that the level of community understanding before the implementation of Bantilan construction 62% often experienced damage due to strong winds and material damage. A community empowerment level of 75% will participate in the process of implementing the Bantilan construction concept. The community satisfaction rate of 82% provides a sense of comfort and security in producing bricks. Community satisfaction with the construction concept of brick processing buildings, which is more efficient and effective as well as improving the economy of the brick processing community in the village of Kalase'rena.

Abstract

Wooden boat construction in a traditional boatbuilding group in Tanah Beru, Bulukumba district, continues to meet domestic and foreign orders. After construction, the craftsmen did not re-measure the hull so the boat’s characteristics were not well documented. This may be due to not being well understood how important these measurements are. This activity aims to introduce craftsmen to an easy way of measuring boat hull using a total station. The main dimensions of the boat that became the object of socialization were the deck length, breadth, and height of 37.75, 10.15, and 3.85 m, respectively. At the implementation stage, pre-test and post-test were conducted in the form of a questionnaire to determine the extent to which the program was successful. Among six participants of the socialization, there were two participants (33.33%) who understood the six definitions of the ship’s main dimension, namely the distance between perpendicular (LBP), length of waterline (L1), draft (T), deck length (L2 ), width of waterline (BWL) and overall width (B). While the other participants did not fully understand it. There was even one person who did not understand all of it. After socialization was carried out, 66.67% fully understood it. The measurement results show that the width and height of the built ship are 10.38 m and 4.00 m, respectively. These sizes are 0.20 and 0.15 m larger than the designed dimension.

Abstract

Based on the regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs number 79 of 2018 requires that all Regional Public Service Agencies (BLUD) including Puskesmas must develop a strategic plan as an administrative requirement for the establishment of BLUD. Several strategic changes have taken place since the creation of the Puskesmas strategic plan in Maros Regency including the Covid-19 pandemic until the publication of the Maros Regency Health Office Strategic Plan for the 2021-2026 period which must be a new reference for all UPTD health offices including puskesmas to develop a new strategic plan. Therefore, training was carried out targeting the improvement of knowledge and skills of health workers at the puskesmas in preparing strategic plans BLUD Puskesmas in accordance with the characteristics of the population, health problems faced, as well as policies and targets set by the Maros Regency government and the Health Office. The implementation was carried out within a period of 2 days in August 2022 with the Training of Trainer (ToT) method. Based on the results of the training evaluation, the presentation of the materials presented was able to be clearly understood by the trainees. This can be seen from the average level of knowledge of the participants (42 participants) before the training was only 39.7% and increased to 47.7% after the training related to the preparation of strategic plans BLUD Puskesmas, so it is expected to improve the quality of Service and performance BLUD Puskesmas.
