Abstract

Traditional Balinese houses in tourist areas are transforming, whereas, on the other hand, Balinese have tried to maintain the identity of the traditional houses to attract tourists. This transformation is a paradoxical phenomenon in which people have transformed their houses to gain economic benefits from tourism. The absence of an appropriate transformation model, which can be used as a guide for the community in utilizing houses in tourism economic activities, allows for the filtration of the tourism function into traditional spatial and cultural spaces. Therefore, this study is urgent to be carried out to maintain the potential of the house as a cultural tourist attraction while at the same time gaining economic benefits. To achieve this goal, a tiered method was developed starting from baseline data collection, an inventory of the texture and character of changes in traditional houses. A more in-depth exploration of traditional house changes using samples based on stratified random sampling and interviews will reveal and create traditional house change innovations. It is continued with the creation of design innovations in the traditional house transformation model. Finally, an analysis was carried out on creating design innovations to transform traditional houses into tourist facilities without abandoning the meaning and values of a traditional house.

Abstract

One of the weaknesses of concrete is that it has a very small tensile strength, which makes it brittle. Normal concrete has a tensile strength of 9-15% of its compressive strength. To increase the tensile strength of concrete, it is necessary to add fiber. The types of fibers that can be used in concrete can be either natural fibers or non-natural fibers. Various alternatives can be made as an effort to improve the quality of concrete. One of them is by utilizing weeds or weeds into useful materials. One of these disturbing plants is the water hyacinth plant, which is quite abundant and grows very fast. Water hyacinth plants consist of stems, leaf petals, which are rich in fiber, which allows it to be used as an alternative additive in concrete mixtures for construction. The purpose of this research is to try to apply water hyacinth fiber (SEG) 0,75% in high performance concrete (HPC) to determine the effect of the ratio of water hyacinth fiber twisted length on the compressive strength and split tensile strength of high performance concrete with several variants fiber lengths of 2 cm, 1,5 cm and 1 cm. The results showed that the decrease in the compressive strength of water hyacinth fiber-rolled concrete for variations of 2 cm, 1,5 cm and 1 cm were respectively 10,76%, 14,16%, and 18,76% of the reference concrete compressive strength of 45,42 MPa and the highest splitting tensile strength of concrete is in the 1 cm fiber length variation of 3,65 MPa which is 9.89% of the concrete compressive strength of 36,90 MPa. The modulus value decreases with the variation in the length of the fiber strand.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine how much influence EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) added to Laston AC-BC has on Marshall characteristic values. The Marshall test carried out will produce stability values at the optimum asphalt conditions that meet the 2018 Highways specifications. The stability value will be used to analyze changes in the characteristics of the Laston AC-BC (Asphalt Concrate – Binder Course) mixture after adding a mixture of EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) . To determine an aggregate gradation in the AC-BC mixed layer, coarse aggregate is used in the form of crushed stone with a maximum size of ” while for fine aggregate it is a mixture of crushed stone, stone ash and sand. The additive or modifier used is EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) polymer. Next, to obtain good asphalt concrete, the gradation of the aggregate must meet the general specifications of Bina Marga 2018 which have been determined through SNI-ASTM-C136-2012. In making the test object, ± 1200 gram of aggregate and asphalt are needed so that the specified height of the test object will be produced. Through the analysis of the aggregate sieve, the weight of the aggregate required for the test object can be calculated. Modification of asphalt with EVA aims to determine the stiffness and properties of asphalt in resisting loading with a certain penetration value so as to produce a Penetration Index value which will affect the characteristics of asphalt against weather changes. Research and knowledge related to the addition of a mixture of EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) to asphalt can be further developed so that it can be implemented on types of road pavements with higher traffic density conditions.

Abstract

A loss insurance model of risk for agricultural commodities that considers maximum daily rainfall and maximum daily temperature is introduced in this paper. This model requires bivariate distribution of maximum daily rainfall and maximum daily temperature in a specific region. Characteristics of particular agricultural commodity is also needed in the region where the two variables are being insured. The bivariate distribution and commodity characteristics are combined to obtain exit. exit is a benchmark value that causes the total crop failure and gives full benefit claim to policyholder. The case study was demonstrated by using data on maximum daily rainfall and temperature in Dramaga Bogor from September to December during 38 years (1984-2021) . Data was collected from Jawa Barat Climatology Station. Frank Copula is better to represent the bivariate distribution of data. Furthermore, two scenarios had given the premiums as IDR 2 482 925 per hectare and IDR 1 495 660 per hectare. This crop insurance model based on maximum daily rainfall and maximum daily temperature index could be the basis for the next developing of crop insurance model.
