Jurnal Ilmu Peternakan dan Veteriner Tropis diterbitkan oleh Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Papua. Jurnal ini merupakan media komunikasi ilmiah dibidang peternakan dan veteriner yang berupa hasil penelitian atau telaah pustaka (review) yang meliputi produksi ternak, nutrisi dan makanan ternak, sosial ekonomi peternakan, dan budidaya ternak/satwa harapan, kesehatan ternak dan hewan kesayangan, serta veteriner. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to assess cholesterol, uric acid and blood glucose levels in laying hens which are fed with the addition of betel leaf juice (Piper Bettle Linn). There were 16 chickens used in layer phase hens. The cage used is an individual cage equipped with a place for feeding and drinking water. The treatments in this study consisted of: (P0) commercial feed + 0 ml of betel leaf juice, (P1) commercial feed + 5 ml of betel leaf juice, (P2) commercial feed + 10 ml of betel leaf juice, and (P3) commercial feed + 15 ml of betel leaf juice. The variables observed were cholesterol, uric acid and blood glucose levels. The data obtained from the research results were analyzed using variance and continued with Duncan's multiple range test. The results showed that the administration of betel leaf juice had no significant effect (p <0.05) on cholesterol, uric acid and blood glucose levels in layer phase hens. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the administration of betel leaf juice does not affect the amount of cholesterol, uric acid, and glucose levels in layer phase hens, but these conditions are still in normal physiological conditions. Keywords: uric acid, layer hens, glucose, cholesterol ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tentang kadar kolesterol, asam urat dan glukosa darah ayam petelur yang diberi penambahan jus daun sirih (Piper betle Linn) pada level yang berbeda. Ayam yang digunakan sebanyak 16 ekor induk ayam petelur betina fase layer. Kandang yang digunakan yaitu kandang individu yang dilengkapi dengan tempat pakan dan air minum. Perlakuan pada penelitian ini terdiri atas: (P0) pakan basal + 0 ml jus daun sirih, (P1) pakan basal + 5 ml jus daun sirih, (P2) pakan basal + 10 ml jus daun sirih, dan (P3) pakan basal + 15 ml jus daun sirih. Variabel yang diamati adalah kadar kolesterol, asam urat, dan glukosa darah. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian jus daun sirih tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (p<0.05) terhdadap kadar kolesterol, asam urat dan glukosa darah ayam petelur fase layer. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian jus daun sirih tidak mempengaruhi jumlah kadar kolestero, asam urat, dan glukosa ayam petelur fase layer, namun kondisi tersebut masih dalam kondisi fisiologis normal. Abstract

Abstract This research was aimed to identifiaty qualitative and quantitative phenotypic polymorphism of Sikumbang Jonti Duck in Kecamatan Payakumbuh Timur Kota Payakumbuh Sumatera Barat. This research used 206 Sikumbang Jonti duck that were sexual maturity (22-48 weeks), divided of 50 males and 156 females. The qualitative traits observeted were head color, neck color, breaks color, back color, primary wings color, tail color, thigh color, bill color, and shank color. The quantitative traits observed were body weight (kg), beak width (cm), beak length (cm), neck length (cm), wing length (cm), femur length (cm), tibia length (cm), shank length (cm), back length (cm), number of primary wing feathers (strands), number of secondary wing feathers (strands), pelvic width (cm), and chest circumference (cm). The result showed that color of Sikumbang Jonti duck was dominated by white. Male Sikumbang Jonti duck had color head was white-black, and female had color head was white. In addition, the Sikumbang Jonti duck had green primary wing feathers like a beetle. The coefficient of diversity of the Sikumbang Jonti duck was low for beak width, tibia length (female), number of primary wing feathers, and number of secondary wing feathers, moderate value for body weight, beak length, neck length, wing length, femur length (female), length tibia (male), shank length, back length, perlvis width (females), and chest circumference (males), and high value for femur length (males). Keywords: Duck morphometric; Germplasm; Pattern color; Payakumbuh; Sumatera barat Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengindentifikasi keragaman fenotipe kualitatif dan kuantitatif itik Sikumbang Jonti di Kecamatan Payakumbuh Timur Kota Payakumbuh Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan 206 ekor itik Sikumbang Jonti yang sudah dewasa kelamin (22 – 48 minggu), terdiri dari 50 ekor jantan dan 156 ekor betina. Sifat kualitatif yang diamati adalah warna bulu head, warna bulu neck, warna bulu breaks, warna back, warna primary wings, warna tail, warna thigh, warna bill, dan warna shank. Sifat kuantitatif yang diamati adalah bobot badan (kg), lebar paruh (cm), panjang paruh (cm), panjang leher (cm), panjang sayap (cm), panjang femur (cm), panjang tibia (cm), panjang shank (cm), panjang punggung (cm), jumlah bulu sayap primer (helai), jumlah bulu sayap sekunder(helai), lebar pelvis (cm), dan lingkar dada (cm). Hasil menunjukkan warna bulu itik Sikumbang Jonti didominasi dengan warna bulu putih. Warna bulu kepala itik Sikumbang Jonti jantan berwarna putih-hitam, sedangkan itik Sikumbang Jonti betina berwarna putih. Selain itu, itik Sikumbang Jonti memiliki warna bulu sayap primer berwarna hijau seperti kumbang. Koefisien keragaman itik Sikumbang Jonti bernilai rendah untuk lebar paruh, panjang tibia (betina), jumlah bulu sayap primer, dan jumlah bulu sayap sekunder, bernilai sedang untuk bobot badan, panjang paruh, panjang leher, panjang sayap, panajng femur (betina), panjang tibia (jantan), panjang shank, panjang punggung, lebar perlvis (betina), dan lingkar dada (jantan), dan bernilai tinggi untuk panjang femur (jantan). Keragaman fenotipe kualitatif dan kuantitatif pada itik Sikumbang Jonti relatif seragam, kecuali pada fenotipe kuantitatif panjang femur pada itik Sikumbang Jonti jantan memiliki keragaman tinggi. Abstract

Abstract This study aims to improve the nutritional quality of venison floss by modifying the the technology process of floss making with adding red fruit oil (Pandanus conoideus L) and kebar grass extract (Biophytum petersianum) as a source of natural antioxidants. The results showed that the nutritional value of floss was influenced by the use of these herbal. Supplementation of antioxidant is to potentially extend the shelf-life of floss as indicated in decreasing the value of water activity (Aw) and thiobarburic acid (TBA). The Aw value decreased from 0.756 to 0.701, and TBA decreased from 0.139 to 0.055 mg/kg. The protein of floss increased from 33.20 to 35.60%. The result also showed that the content of antioxidant increased which is indicated by the increasing of beta-carotene content from 0.0087 mg /100 gram to 0.81 mg/100 gram. Results also showed that the use of red fruit oil extract and kebar grass extract decreased the content of saturated fatty acids, meanwhile in unsaturated fatty acids it increased arachidonic fatty acids. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas nutrisi abon daging rusa dengan memodifikasi proses teknologi produksinya dengan penambahan ekstrak minyak buah merah (Pandanus conoideus L) dan ekstrak rumput kebar (Biophytum petersianum) sebagai sumber antioksidan alami. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa nilai nutrisi produk olahan daging dipengaruhi oleh adanya penambahan senyawa antioksidan. Pemberian suplementasi bahan sumber antioksidan meningkatkan daya awet pada abon yang ditunjukkan dengan penurunan nilai aktivitas air (Aw) dan nilai thiobarburic acid (TBA). Nilai Aw abon menurun dari 0,756 menjadi 0,701, dan nilai TBA-nya menurun dari 0,139 menjadi 0,055 mg/kg. Nilai nutrisi terjadi pada nilai protein yang meningkat dari 33,20 menjadi 35,60%. Sebagai sumber antioksidan terlihat pada peningkatan kandungan beta-karoten dari 0,0087 mg/100 gram menjadi 0,81 mg/100 gram. Faktor penting lainnya dengan penggunaan ekstrak minyak buah merah dan ekstrak rumput kebar yakni adanya penurunan yang signifikan pada kandungan asam-asam lemak jenuh, akan tetapi pada asam-asam lemak tidak jenuh terjadi peningkatan pada asam lemak arakidonat. Abstract

Abstract The best known broiler chicken meat product in urban communities is Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). Seeing the business opportunity, entrepreneurs in Kendari City tried to make fried chicken similar to KFC products by labeling Kendari Fried Chicken (Kendari-FC) at a relatively affordable price of Rp 8.000 per piece compared to the KFC price of Rp 15.000 per piece. This study aims to analyze the marketing prospects of Kendari-FC entrepreneurs in Kendari City. The location of the research was determined purposively with the respondents of the study being kendari-FC entrepreneurs in kendari city who were determined by census. The results showed that the income of Kendari-FC entrepreneurs in Kendari City averaged Rp 5.066.458 per month or Rp 168.882 per day with an average income of Rp 36.276 per head. Kendari-FC's marketing prospects have the potential to be developed especially in West Kendari District because the average revenue from sales of each tail is Rp 48.105.40 per head. Keywords: Income; Kendari-FC; Marketing Abstrak Produk hasil olahan daging ayam broiler yang paling dikenal masyarakat perkotaan adalah Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). Melihat peluang bisnis tersebut wirausahawan di Kota Kendari berupaya membuat ayam goreng yang mirip produk KFC dengan memberi label Kendari Fried Chicken (Kendari-FC) dengan harga relatif terjangkau yaitu Rp 8.000 per potong dibandingkan harga KFC Rp 15.000 per potong. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis prospek pemasaran wirausaha Kendari-FC di Kota Kendari. Lokasi penelitian ditentukan secara purposif dengan responden penelitian adalah wirausahawan Kendari-FC di Kota Kendari yang ditentukan secara sensus. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pendapatan wirausahawan Kendari-FC di Kota Kendari rata-rata Rp 5.066.458 per bulan atau Rp 168.882 per hari dengan pendapatan rata-rata Rp 36.276 per ekor. Prospek pemasaran Kendari-FC berpotensi dikembangkan terutama di Kecamatan Kendari Barat karena rata-rata pendapatan dari hasil penjualan setiap ekor sebesar Rp 48.105.40. Abstract

Abstract  The study aimed at finding out people’s response to and environmental impact of pig farms in Inden II village and the surrounding areas of Kenangan market of Ransiki subdistrict of South Manokwari district. It was descriptive study that used observation technique to generally describe the people’s response to the pig farm in Inden II village and the surrounding areas of Kenangan market of Ransiki subdistrict. Population and sample were classified into 2: pig farmers and those who were affected by the pig farm. The total number of the villagers of Inden II village and the surrounding areas of Kenangan market was 58 households, with the number of the pig farmers of 12 households so that there were 46 households of the population that did not do pig farming and were affected by the pig farms and recruited as respondents. The observed variables included people’s response to sub-variable of smell with following indicators: smelly (1) and smelly/long lasting (2); sub-variable of sound with following indicators: loud (1) and very loud/continuous (2); sub-variable of waste management with following indicators: feces were left unprocessed and scattered in various places, pig feed remnant and waste unprocessed and scattered; sub-variable of the number of pigs with following indicators: environment cleanliness (1) and riding or driving and walking comforts (2). They were measured using five points Likert scale: very annoying (5), annoying (4), annoying enough (3), not annoying (2) not very annoying (1). The results of the study showed that 58.69% of the people were very annoyed by the smell of the pig farms, 60.87% of them were very annoyed by the loud sound of the pigs, 45.65% of them were very annoyed by the continuous sound of the pigs, 47.83% of them were very annoyed by the number of the pigs that produced wastes affecting environmental cleanliness, and 45.65% of them were very annoyed by the feces of the pigs left unprocessed and scattered in various places. Keywords: Environmental impact; People’s response; Pig farm   Abstrak  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon masyarakat dari usaha peternakan babi terhadap dampak lingkungan di Kampung Inden II dan Sekitar Wilayah Pasar Kenangan Distrik Ransiki Kabupaten Manokwari Selatan. Jenis penelitian ini ialah jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan teknik observasi menjelaskan secara umum bagaimana respon masyarakat terhadap usaha peternakan babi di Kampung Inden II dan Wilayah sekitar Pasar Kenangan Distrik Ransiki. Jumlah populasi dan sampel dikelompokan menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu Masyarakat Peternak dan Masyarakat terkena dampak. Jumlah total masyarakat yang tinggal di Kampung Inden II dan wilayah sekitar pasar Kenangan yaitu sebanyak 58 Kepala Keluarga dengan jumlah peternak babi sebanyak 12 kepala keluarga sehingga jumlah populasi yang tidak beternak babi atau terkena dampak yaitu sebanyak 46 kepala keluarga sebagai responden. Variabel pengamatan yaitu Respon masyarakat terbagi atas subvariabel Penciuman (Aroma) dengan indikator berbau, berbau/tidak mudah hilang (2); Suara (Pendengaran) dengan indikator Sangat keras, Sangat Keras/Terus menerus; Penanganan Limbah indikator feses dibiarkan/tersebar diberbagai tempat, Sisa pakan dan sampah berantakan; Jumlah Ternak dengan indikator Kebersihan Lingkungan, Kenyamanan berkendara dan berjalan kaki. Pengukuran menggunakan skala Likert dengan kategori sangat terganggu (5), terganggu (4), cukup terganggu (3), tidak terganggu (2) dan sangat tidak terganggu (1).  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 58,69% sangat terganggu dengan bau yang ditimbulkan dari peternakan babi, 60,87% sangat terganggu dengan suara keras yang ditimbulkan, 45,65% masyarakat sangat terganggu dengan suara terus-menerus yang disebabkan oleh ternak babi, 47,83% merasa sangat terganggu oleh jumlah ternak yang mengganggu kebersihan lingkungan dan 45,65% masyarakat merasa sangat terganggu oleh feses yang dibiarkan dan tersebar diberbagai tempat. Abstract

Abstract This research aimed to identify the morphometrics characteristic and egg production of duck in the center farming area in Tolitoli Regency. There are four districts chosen as the research sample location, which are Dampal Selatan, Lampasio, Galang, and Dako Pemean. In each district, 250 female ducks were used. Parameters was observed is body weight, body length, pubis width, shank length, chest circumference, wings length, neck length, and egg production based on Hand Day Production. The correlation between morphometrics and HDP analyzed by IBM Statistic 25 software. The results showed that pubis width have a strong positive correlation with egg production (r value 0.37 – 0.45). The body weight have negative correlation with HDP (-0.31 to -0.22), chest circumference (-0.13 to -0.05), body length (-0.01 to 0.03), wing length (-0.12 to 0.03), neck length (-0.03 to 0.02), and shank length (0.02 to 0.03). The morphometrics characteristic and egg production in duck center farming area are uniform with an HDP at 63%. Keywords: Correlation; Duck; Egg; Morphometrics; Production Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik morfometrik dan produksi telur itik di sentra peternakan itik Kabupaten Tolitoli. Terdapat empat kecamatan yang dijadikan lokasi sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu Kecamatan Dampal Selatan, Lampasio, Galang, dan Dako Pemean dijadikan sampel penelitian. Masing-masing 250 itik betina yang digunakan. Parameter yang diamati yaitu bobot badan, panjang badan, lebar pubis, panjang shank, lingkar dada, panjang sayap, dan panjang leher serta produksi telur berdasarkan Hen Day Production (HDP). Hubungan morfometrik dengan produksi telur dianalisis menggunakan analisis korelasi menggunakan IBM Statistic 25. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lebar pubis memiliki korelasi yang positif dan cukup kuat dengan HDP dengan nilai korelasi antara 0,37–0,45. Bobot badan berkorelasi negative dengan HDP (-0,31 sampai -0,22), lingkar dada (-0,13 sampai -0,05), panjang badan (-0,01 sampai 0,03), panjang sayap (-0,12 sampai 0,03), panjang leher (-0,03 sampai 0,02), dan panjang shank (0,02 sampai 0,03). Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of the microbiological quality of broiler chicken meat that is marinated using pineapple extracts with different storage times at refrigerator temperature (180C). The stages of this research consisted of 2 stages, namely the first stage of making pineapple extract from fresh pineapples and the second stage was the marination process in which the broiler chicken meat samples were marinated using pineapple extract with a concentration of 30%. The experimental design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with one treatment factor (0 days, 3 days, 6 days, 9 days and 12 days) with each treatment repeated 4 times, in order to obtain 5 x experimental units. 4 = 20 experimental units. The microbiological analysis observed was the inhibition zone analysis and Total Plate Count (TPC). Giving marination with pineapple extract to the storage time of chicken meat has a significant effect on the inhibition zone. The highest zone of inhibition was 3.23 mm (for 6 days) while the lowest zone of inhibition was 2.21 mm (for 0 days). Provision of pineapple extract marination on the storage time of broiler chicken has a significant effect on the TPC. The highest TPC was 2.29 (for 12 days) while the lowest TPC was 0.30 (for 0 days). Keywords: Broiler chicken; Marination; Microbiological quality; Pineapple extract. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kualitas mikrobiologi daging ayam broiler yang dimarinasi menggunakan ekstrak buah nenas dengan lama penyimpanan yang berbeda pada suhu refrigerator (180C). Tahapan penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 tahapan yaitu tahap pertama pembuatan ekstrak buah nenas yang berasal dari buah nenas segar dan tahap kedua adalah proses marinasi dimana sampel daging ayam broiler dimarinasi dengan menggunakan ekstrak buah nenas dengan konsentrasi 30%. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan satu faktor perlakuan (0 hari, 3 hari, 6 hari, 9 hari dan 12 hari) dengan masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali, sehingga diperoleh unit percobaan 5 x 4 = 20 unit percobaan. Analisis mikrobiologi yang diamati adalah analisis zona hambat dan Total Plate Count (TPC). Pemberian marinasi dengan ektrak buah nenas terhadap lama penyimpanan daging ayam berpengaruh nyata terhadap zona hambat. Zona hambat tertinggi 3,23 mm (selama 6 hari) sedangkan zona hambat terendah 2,21 mm (selama 0 hari). Pemberian marinasi ekstrak buah nenas terhadap lama penyimpanan daging ayam broiler berpengaruh nyata terhadap TPC. TPC tertinggi 2,29 (selama 12 hari) sedangkan TPC terendah 0,30 (selama 0 hari). Abstract

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect of different basal diet and feed additive on the percentage of carcass and component parts of broilers. This research has been conducted for four months (June to September 2020) at State Polytechnic of Agriculture Kupang. A total of 264 one-day old chicks were distributed to 24 pens (11 birds/pen).The experiment was designed using a 2 x 4 factorial design with 8 tretment combinations and three replications for each treatment. The treatments were control (0% sago) (P0), control (0% sago) + avyzime 0,10 % and phyzyme 0,05% (P1), control (0% sago) + allzime 0,05% (P2), control (0% sago) + synbiotic probio FMplus 40 mL/L drinking water (P3), Diet containing 10% sago (P4), Diet containing 10% sago + allzyme 0,10 % and phyzyme 0,05% (P5), Diet containing 10% sago + allzyme 0,05% (P6) and Diet containing 10% sago + synbiotic probio FMplus 40 mL/L drinking water (P7). The result shows that type of basal diet (TBD) and feed additive (FA) affect (P < 0,05) the carcass weight but it did not afect (P>0,05) carcass percentage of broiler chickens. Except for thigh, TBD did not affect (P>0,05) on component parts of carcass. Feed additive had no effect (P>0,05) on carcass component, with the exception of thigh. Interaction between TBD x FA was significant (P<0,05) only for weight and percentage of carcass and back percentage of broilers. Broilers fed basal diet A plus Allzyme SSF-E had lower weight and percentage of carcass and also back percentage than other treatment diets. To sum up,, 1) basal diet B produced higher carcass weight than basal diet A; 2) supplementation of Allzyme SSF-E on basal diet A reduced the weight and percentage of broiler carcass.

Abstract

Abstract In Papua, especially in the Arfak Mountains, one of wild animals that commonly used as a non-animal protein source is frogs. Although it has been consumed by local people for generations, there is no representative information on the characteristics of Arfak frog meat. This study aims to determine the body weight and weight of carcass of Arfak frogs (Rana arfaki) comsumed by the Moiley communtiies in the Arfak Mountains. In addition, this study also attempts to reveal the physical quality and processing techniques of consumed Arfak forg meat. We used descriptive method with observation techniques in the field. The results show that an average body weight of Arfak frogs consumed in Mbenti is 2.53 ± 0.81gr, with an average of carcass percentage 46.77% and non-carcass percentage 53.23%. The physical quality of the meat is, fresh and looks intact, the color of flesh and muscles is white to yellowish white, has a distinctive aroma, and elastic texture as well as strong muscles. The pH value of fresh meat is an average of 7.03. Various meat processing techniques are practiced including fried, stir-fry, grilled and smoked, and pickling/smoked is more preffered bacuse it is easy and the meat can keep longer as a source of food for household animal protein. Keywords: Arfak; Cosnsumption; Meat; Quality; Rana arfaki Abstrak Di Papua khususnya di Pegunungan Arfak, salah satu jenis satwa yang dimanfaatkan masyarakat sebagai sumber protein hewani non-ternak adalah katak. Meskipun telah dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat lokal secara turun temurun, sampai saat ini belum tersedia informasi yang representatif tentang karakteristik daging katak Arfak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bobot badan dan berat karkas katak Arfak (Rana arfaki) yang dikonsumsi masyarakar Moiley di Pegunungan Arfak. Selain itu juga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas fisik dan teknik pengolahan daging katak Arfak yang dikonsumsi. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan teknik observasi atau pengamatan langsung di lapangan. Rataan bobot badan katak Arfak (Rana arfaki) yang dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat di Mbenti yaitu 2,53 ± 0,81gr dengan rataan persentase karkas yaitu 46,77% dan persentase non-karkasnya sebesar 53,23%. Kualitas fisik daging katak Arfak yaitu memiliki karakteristik segar dan tampak utuh, warna daging dan otot putih hingga putih kekuningan, memiliki aroma khas, dengan tekstur elastis serta memiliki otot kuat. Sedangkan nilai pH daging katak Arfak segar yang dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat yaitu rata-rata adalah 7,03. Teknik pengolahan daging yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat beragam antara lain goreng, tumis, bakar dan asap. Cara asar/asap lebih disenangi karena mudah dilakukan dan dapat memperpanjang masa simpan daging sebagai cadangan sumber pangan protein hewani rumah tangga. Abstract

Abstract Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera Lam) is one of the potential local feed ingredients of broiler rations due to its nutrient contents such as carbohydrate (57,01%), crude protein (30,30%), crude fat (2,74%) as well as a source of vitamin C, carotenoids and flavonoids. This study aimed to determine the effect of using different levels of Moringa oleifera Lam leaf meal (MOLM) in basal ration on plasma metabolites, including total cholesterol (TCHO), triglycerides (TG), glucose (GLU), and total protein (TP). The research design of this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and five replications. The treatments were 4 levels of MOLM (0%, 5%, 10% and 15%), in basal ration. The parameters measured were TCHO, TG, Glu, and TP of in blood plasma. The results showed that inclusion of MOLM up to 15% of in basal ration very significantly (P<0.01) lowering levels TG and decreasing Glu. However, the inclusion of MOLM had no effect (P>0.05) on TCHO and TP. It is concluded that moringa leaf flour addition to the basal ration up to 15% could be used to decrease plasma metabolites especially TG and GLU in broiler chickens. Key words:Broilers; Moringa oleifera meal; total cholesterol, triglycerides, glucose and total protein Abstrak Daun kelor (Moringa oleifera Lam) merupakan salah satu bahan pakan lokal yang berpotensi dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan penyusun ransum ayam ras pedaging karena mengandung nutrisi yang tinggi diantaranya karbohidrat (57,01%), protein kasar (30,30%), lemak kasar (2,74%) dan sebagai sumber vitamin C, karotenoid serta flavonoid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan beberapa level tepung daun kelor dalam ransum basal terhadap plasma metabolit ayam ras pedaging yang meliputi total kolesterol (TCHO), trigliserida (TG), glukosa (Glu) dan total protein (TP). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan terdiri dari 4 level tepung daun kelor di dalam ransum basal yakni 0%, 5%, 10% dan 15%. Parameter yang diukur meliputi TCHO, TG, Glu dan TP pada plasma darah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan tepung daun kelor hingga 15% dalam ransum berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) menurunkan kadar TG dan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) menurunkan Glu. Akan tetapi, pemanfaatan tepung daun kelor hingga 15% tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap TCHO dan TP. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah penggunaan tepung daun kelor dalam ransum basal hingga 15% dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menurunkan plasma metabolit khususnya TG dan Glu pada plasma darah ayam broiler.
