Jurnal Ilmu Peternakan dan Veteriner Tropis diterbitkan oleh Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Papua. Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh penambahan ekstrak buah Noni (Morinda citrifolia) dalam ransum terhadap profil lemak pada ayam broiler. Sejumlah 200 ekor ayam broiler dengan bobot badan 245,67 ± 10,27 g, eksktrak buah Noni (EBN), ethanol absolute, kertas saring, spuit, vacum tainer, alkohol dan alat tulis digunakan pada penelitian ini. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan (masing-masing diisi 10 ekor). Perlakuan yang diterapkan meliputi Kontrol (+) = Ransum control/RK, Kontrol (-) = RK+Bacitracin 0,04%, T1= RK+EBN 0,04%, T2= RK+EBN 0,08%, dan T3= RK+EBN 0,12%. Parameter yang diukur meliputi kolesterol, trigliserida, high density lipoprotein dan low density lipoprotein darah. Data dilakukan uji Anova dan beda nyata Duncan pada taraf 5%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa penambahan EBN berpengaruh (p<0,05) terhadap kolesterol darah, trigliserida, high density lipoprotein dan low density lipoprotein. Penambahan EBN pada level 0,12% (T3) mampu menurunkan kadar kolesterol, trigliserida dan low density lipoprotein darah serta meningkatkan high density lipoprotein darah dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya. Simpulan adalah profil lemak darah yang ditambahkan EBN sampai level 0,12% (T3) mampu menjaga kesehatan tubuh.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pakan hasil integrasi rumput unggul - legume Clitoria tarnatea dan tanaman pangan pada sapi bali jantan penggemukan ditingkat peternak terhadap kadar urea, glukosa, dan hemoglobin darah. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan 8 ekor sapi Bali jantan bakalan pada kisaran umur 1 – 1,5 tahun dengan berat badan 101-134 kg, dengan rataan 114,25 kg dan koefisien variasi 6,12%. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode percobaan menggunakan rancangan bujur sangkar latin ganda (RBSL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 periode sebagai ulangan. Adapun perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah P0: pakan hasil integrasi rumput mulato + legum + jagung + kacang nasi + labu kuning, P1: pakan hasil integrasi rumput odot + legum + jagung + kacang nasi + labu kuning, P2: pakan hasil integrasi rumput Setaria + legume + jagung + kacang nasi + labu kuning, P3: pakan hasil integrasi rumput Brachiaria + legum + jagung + kacang nasi + labu kuning. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analysis of variance (ANOVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata P>0,05 terhadap kadar urea, glukosa dan hemoglobin darah sapi Bali jantan penggemukan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pemberian hasil integrasi rumput unggul - legume dan tanaman pangan memberikan pengaruh yang sama antar perlakuan terhadap profil metabolit darah sapi bali jantan penggemukan. Integrasi rumput unggul - legume dan tanaman pangan berpotensi untuk diterapkan pada daerah lahan kering karena mampu menyediakan pakan dengan biomassa yang cukup bagi ternak yang dibuktikan dengan profil metabolit darah ternak masih berada pada keadaan normal.

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to determine the quantitative characteristics, the determinant of body size and shape, and the correlation of body measurements and the bodyweight of Bali and Simbal cattle in Renah Pamenang, Merangin District. The survey method was used along with purposive sampling, the samples were Bali and Simbal cattle aged I1 (Incicivus 1) and not in pregnant condition, with 60 cattle consisting of 30 males and 30 females. Observed data included: body weight, body weight gain, body length, shoulder height, chest circumference, chest weight, chest width, hip height, and canon circumference were analyzed using the t-test method. The principal component analysis was used to determine the determinant of size and shape of Bali and Simbal cattle followed by the regression and correlation analysis to determine the relationship and closeness of the relationship between body measurements with body weight. The result showed that the body weight, body weight gain, and body size of Bali cattle were significantly different (P <0.05) from Simbal. The body weight, body weight gain, and body size of Bali cattle were lower than Simbal cattle. The main characteristic of size in Bali and Simbal cattle was the Chest Circumference. The dominant characteristic of shape in Bali and Simbal cattle was shoulder height. The highest correlation between body measurements and body weight in Bali and Simbal cattle was the chest circumference. Keywords: Quantitative Characteristics; Bali Cattle; Simbal Cattle. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik kuantitatif, penciri ukuran dan bentuk tubuh, serta korelasi ukuran-ukuran tubuh dengan bobot badan sapi Bali dan Simbal di Kecamatan Renah Pamenang Kabupaten Merangin. Metode yang digunakan adalah survey dengan pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling, yaitu sapi Bali dan Simbal, umur I1 (Incicivus 1), dan tidak dalam keadaan bunting sebanyak 60 sampel yang terdiri dari 30 ekor jantan dan 30 ekor betina pada masing-masing bangsa. Data yang dihimpun meliputi : bobot badan, pertambahan bobot badan, panjang badan, tinggi pundak, lingkar dada, dalam dada, lebar dada, tinggi pinggul dan lingkar kanon dianalisis menggunakan uji-t. Analisis komponen utama digunakan untuk mengetahui penciri ukuran dan bentuk tubuh sapi Bali dan Simbal kemudian dilanjutkan analisis regresi dan korelasi untuk mengetahui hubungan dan keeratan hubungan antara ukuran-ukuran tubuh dengan bobot badan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bobot badan, pertambahan bobot badan dan ukuran-ukuran tubuh sapi Bali berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dengan Simbal. Bobot badan, pertambahan bobot badan dan ukuran-ukuran tubuh sapi Bali lebih rendah dibandingkan Simbal. Penciri ukuran pada sapi Bali dan Simbal adalah lingkar dada. penciri bentuk pada sapi Bali dan Simbal adalah tinggi pundak. Abstract

Abstract Weed is one of the plants that grow around rubber plantations that have the potential to provide forage for ruminant feed. This study aimed to explore the environmental conditions and identify the botanical composition of weeds under the shade of rubber trees in immature plants (IP) at PTPN IX, Getas Farm, Semarang, Central Java. Exploratory research was conducted to identify the botanical composition of weeds in three IP groups, such as 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6 years old. The composition of the weeds’ botany was divided based on the plants’ morphology into grass, legume, forbs, and browse. The environmental conditions data were analyzed using the ANOVA method and followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The botanical composition data were tabulated using a summed dominance ratio (SDR). The results showed the light intensity, wind speed, environment temperature, and weed botanical composition decreased as the rubber plants ages. The composition of rubber plantation weeds on IP 1-2 years old consisted of 32 species (5 kinds of grass, 4 legumes, 21 forbs, and 2 browse). The composition of weeds on IP 3-4 years old consisted of 15 species (8 kinds of grass, 2 legumes, and 5 forbs), while IP 5-6 years old consisted of 6 species (4 kinds of grass, 1 legume, and 1 forb). The dominant weeds of each IP were Calopogonium mucunoides, Cyrtococcum acrescens, and Cyrtococcum oxyphyllum, respectively. Based on the results of the study it was concluded that the area of IP 1-2 years old rubber plantation weeds has the highest botanical composition and potential as ruminant feed. Keywords: Environmental conditions; Immature plants; Rubber plantation; Weed Abstrak Gulma merupakan salah satu tanaman yang tumbuh di sekitar tanaman perkebunan karet yang berpotensi sebagai penyedia hijauan pakan ternak ruminansia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi kondisi lingkunganpertumbuhan gulma dan mengidentifikasi komposisi botani di bawah naungan pohon karet pada tanaman belum menghasilkan (TBM), di PTPN IX, Kebun Getas. Semarang, Jawa Tengah. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksploratif terhadap kondisi lingkungan dan identifikasi komposisi botani gulma pada 3 kelompok TBM yaitu umur 1-2; 3-4; dan 5-6 tahun. Komposisi botani gulma dibagi berdasarkan morfologi tanaman yaitu rumput, legum, forb, dan browse. Data kondisi lingkungan kelompok TBM dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan diuji lanjut menggunakan Duncant’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Data dominasi komposisi botani ditabulasi menggunakan summed dominance ratio (SDR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan intensitas cahaya, kecepatan angin, suhu lingkungan, dan komposisi botani gulma menurun seiring bertambahnya umur tanaman karet. Komposisi gulma perkebunan karet pada TBM 1-2 terdapat 32 spesies meliputi 5 rumput, 4 legum, 21 forb, dan 2 browse; TBM 3-4 terdapat 15 spesies meliputi 8 rumput, 2 legum, dan 5 forb, sedangkan TBM 5-6 terdapat 6 spesies meliputi 4 rumput, 1 legum, dan 1 forb. Gulma yang mendominasi masing-masing TBM yaitu Calopogonium mucunoides, Cyrtococcum acrescens dan Cyrtococcum oxyphyllum. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan gulma perkebunan karet lahan TBM 1–2 memiliki komposisi botani dan potensi tertinggi sebagai pakan ternak ruminansia. Abstract

Abstract Amorphophallus companulatus (AC) is a plant from the Araceae family that contains high metabolizable energy and an alternative feedstuff for livestock. This study aimed to investigate the effect of feeding diet containing AC on slaughter weight, carcass weight, and abdominal fat of broiler chickens. The feeding trial lasted for 35 days. For the sample, 112 broiler chicks, all a day old (DOC) were used. The research had 4 treatment groups and 4 replications with 7 birds per replication. The four treatments were P0 (Control ration without AC); P1 (rations containing 5% of AC); P2 (rations containing 10% of AC); P3 (rations containing 15% AC). Slaughter weight, carcass weight, and abdominal fat weight data were analyzed by variance analysis and followed by Duncan's multiple range test with a confidence level of 0.05. The addition of AC tubers affected the slaughter weight, carcass weight, and abdominal fat weight of broiler chickens. The slaughter and carcass weight in chickens fed with the control ration was significantly (P <0.05) higher than the chicken fed with rations containing AC. The abdominal fat weight was significantly (P <0.05) higher in chickens fed with control rations compared to those fed with AC rations. In conclusion, AC tuber meal in the ration can reduce the slaughter weight, carcass weight, and abdominal fat weight of broiler chickens. Abstrak Amorphophallus companulatus (AC) merupakan Araceae yang mengandung energi metabolisme yang tinggi dan sebagai bahan pakan alternatif bagi ternak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh penggunaan AC dalam ransum terhadap bobot potong, berat karkas, dan lemak abdominal ayam broiler. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 35 hari. Seratus dua belas ekor ayam broiler umur sehari digunakan dalam penelitian. Ada 4 kelompok perlakuan dengan 4 ulangan masing-masing 7 ekor ayam per ulangan. Keempat perlakuan tersebut adalah P0 (Ransum kontrol tanpa AC); P1(ransum yang mengandung 5% AC); P2 (ransum yang mengandung 10% AC); P3 (ransum yang mengandung 15% AC). Data berat potong, berat karkas dan berat lemak abdominal dianalisis dengan analisis varians dan dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan pada tingkat kepercayaan 0,05. Pemberian umbi AC berpengaruh terhadap berat badan akhir, berat karkas dan berat lemak abdominal ayam broiler. Berat badan akhir, berat karkas pada ayam yang diberi ransum kontrol secara nyata (P <0,05) lebih tinggi daripada ayam yang diberi ransum mengandung AC. Bobot lemak abdominal secara nyata (P<0,05) lebih tinggi pada ayam yang diberi ransum kontrol dibandingkan yang diberi ransum AC. Kesimpulannya, tepung umbi AC dalam ransum dapat mengurangi berat badan akhir, berat karkas dan lemak abdominal ayam broiler. Abstract

Escherichia coli producing ESBL in humans, animals and the environment trigger the emergence of antimicrobial resistance. This study analyzes the potential risk factors in commercial chickens as an infectious factor for the ESBL-producing Escherichia coli as an effort to prevent and control the wider spread of Escherichia coli-producing ESBL events. This study was a descriptive analytic epidemiological study with a cross-sectional study design. Sampling using stratified random sampling by taking as many as 5 samples per commercial chicken farm in Blitar District. Data collection is done by direct interviews with farmers based on a questionnaire and field observations and inspection of livestock, supplemented with supporting documentation. Primary data were obtained through a questionnaire and direct observation of the research object to determine risk factors that could affect the Escherichia coli producing ESBL that were resistant to antibiotics in commercial chicken in Blitar District. Escherichia coli is a commensal bacterium that is naturally present in the chicken digestive tract. The existence of the highest ESBL producing Escherichia coli was 45.56% in the type of partnership farming. Risk factors with the highest association strength on risk factors for partnership type (OR = 11.02, CI 95% = 5.84-20.77), the presence of antibiotic administration programs (OR = 6.76, 95% CI = 2.05-22.22), broiler chicken species ( OR = 5.34, 95% CI = 2.76-10.32), and the purpose of using antibiotics as prevention (OR = 3.55, 95% CI = 1.86-6.74). Efforts to prevent and control the ESBL-producing Escherichia coli in commercial poultry can be done by increasing surveillance of antibiotic use, in this regard it is necessary to supervise animal health personnel in the management of livestock raising for the correct use of antibiotics in commercial chicken farms.

Abstract

Abstract This research evaluated wuluh starfruit (Averrhoa bilimbi L) solution as a marinade on the sensory quality of goat meat. This research was designed using the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which consisted of 4 treatments: 0, 30, 60, and 90% wuluh starfruit solution. The observed variables in this research were taste, color, aroma, texture, and acceptability. The data were analyzed using the Non-Parametric Kruskal-Wallis test. The results showed that the usage of wuluh starfruit solution up to 90% as a marinade for goat meat had an average score of taste, color, aroma, texture, and acceptability which are not significantly different (P>0.05) compared to the control. It means that the sensory quality of marinated meat was relatively similar to the control. It can be concluded that wuluh starfruit solution up to 90% concentration can be used as a marinade to preserve the sensory quality of goat meat. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan larutan belimbing wuluh sebagai bahan marinasi terhadap kualitas sensoris daging kambing. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan: 0, 30, 60 dan 90% larutan belimbing wuluh. Peubah yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah rasa, warna, aroma, tekstur dan daya terima. Data dianalisa menggunakan uji hedonik Kruskal-Wallis. Hasil analisa data menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan larutan belimbing wuluh hingga 90% sebagai bahan marinasi daging kambing memiliki rerata skor rasa, warna, aroma, tekstur dan daya terima yang tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05) dibandingkan kontrol. Artinya, daging yang dimarinasi memiliki kualitas sensoris yang relatif sama dengan kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa larutan belimbing wuluh hingga 90% dapat digunakan sebagai bahan marinasi untuk mempertahankan kualitas sensoris daging kambing. Abstract

Abstract The aim of this study was to determine the diversity of KUB chickens raised by farmer households in Indramayu Regency in the implementation of the 2019 BEKERJA program. The BEKERJA program is carried out in 8.189 farmer households by providing 50 DOC, chicken feed during 5 weeks, maintenance support facilities include feed tray, drinking bottles, brooder cages, cables, lights, and cage subsidy for 4 weeks chickens. The parameters observed were the number of chicken mortality, age of first egg laying and the number of egg production for the first time. The observations showed that the mortality of KUB chickens increased at 3 months of raised, which was caused by the sale and slaughter of chickens and the mortality of chickens due to improper raise management. Hens that lay eggs early in the District of Anjatan and District of Bongas 7.066 and 1.041, respectively. The results of the study showed that there was diversity at the beginning of egg-laying chicken due to improper feeding management, but KUB chicken had the potential to be developed as an egg and meat producer in Indramayu Regency. Keywords: BEKERJA Program; Diversity at the beginning of egg-laying chicken; KUB chicken Abstrak Kajian bertujuan untuk mengetahui keragaman ayam KUB yang dipelihara oleh RTM di Kabupaten Indramayu dalam pelaksanaan program BEKERJA tahun 2019. Program BEKERJA melibatkan 8.189 RTM dengan memberikan bantuan 50 ekor DOC ayam KUB, pakan selama 5 minggu pemeliharaan, bantuan sarana prasarana pemeliharaan meliputi tray tempat pakan, botol tempat minum, kandang brooder, kabel, lampu, dan bantuan subsidi kandang untuk ayam umur 4 minggu. Parameter yang diamati adalah jumlah kematian ayam, umur bertelur pertama kali dan produksi telur pertama kali. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa kematian ayam KUB meningkat pada 3 bulan usia pemeliharaan, yang disebabkan oleh penjualan dan pemotongan ayam serta kematian akibat manajemen pemeliharaan yang kurang tepat. Jumlah produksi telur pertama kali di Kecamatan Anjatan dan Kecamatan Bongas masing-masing sebesar 7.066 butir dan 1.041 butir. Hasil kajian menunjukkan adanya keragaman pada awal bertelur ayam yang diakibatkan oleh manajemen pemberian pakan yang tidak tepat, namun ayam KUB berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai penghasil telur dan daging di kabupaten Indramayu Kata kunci : Ayam KUB; Keragaman awal bertelur; Program BEKERJA

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to observe the properties of eggs produced based on laying age and different feed compositions. This research was conducted in September 2017 at Cahaya Mario Group Farm, Puncak Mario, Sidenreng Rappang Regency, South Sulawesi. The materials used in this research were; 45 Lohman-strain layers, a digital scale with 0,001 g sensitivity, calipers, needle scales with 0,1 g sensitivity, buckets, feedlots, water containers, plastic bags, plates, and cleaning tools. Randomized Block Design was applied in this work which consisted of 3 different feed types and 3 different age groups of layers with 3 replications. The parameters measured in this study consisted of the egg's exterior and interior qualities. Based on statistical analysis, feed types and age groups showed no significant effect on the external quality of the eggs namely the egg’s shell thickness as well as no significant effect on eggs weight. The egg’s shell thickness varied from 0.42 to 0.44 mm. Interior quality, especially yolk color, was significantly influenced by age groups. The egg’s viscosity was significantly influenced by different feed types. Keywords: Egg properties; Egg viscosity; Yolk color; Lohman-strain; Layer. Abstrak Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengobservasi karaktersitik telur berdasarkan umur ayam dan perbedaan komposisi ransum yang diberikan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di bulan Agustus hingga September 2017 bertempat di Farm Cahaya Mario Group, Puncak Mario, Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang, Sulawesi Selatan. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu : ayam Lohman sebanyak 45 ekor, timbangan digital dengan kepekaan 0,001 g, jangka sorong, timbangan jarum dengan kepekaan 0,1 g, ember, tempat ransum, tempat minum, plastik, piring dan alat kebersihan. Tiga (3) jenis ransum diberikan pada tiga (3) kelompok umumr ayam yang berbeda dengan replikasi sebanyak tiga (3) kali, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK). Parameter yang diukur pada penelitian ini terdiri dari kualitas eksternal telur, dan kualitas interior telur. Berdasarkan hasil analisis sidik ragam, jenis ransum yang digunakan dan variasi umur tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kualitas eksternal seperti pada berat telur dan tebal kerabang. Nilai tebal kerabang berkisar antara 0,42 - 0,44 mm. Kualitas interior telur secara signifikan dipengaruhi oleh kelompok umur yang berbeda untuk warna yolk dan terdapat perbedaan signifikan jenis ransum terhadap viskositas telur. Abstract

Catch fish that are not used as food can be processed into fish flour. The purpose of this study was to analyze fish meal from several types of fish found on the coast of Merauke RegencyThis test is carried out to see the physical and chemical quality.. From the research results of this study obtained the physical quality of fish meal can be which is categorized, both in mixing feed food and storage namely: the average density of 0.58 gr / cm3, surface area 53.88 cm2, pH 6.25, threshold power 1.15 m / sec and stack angle 27.260C, average ash content of 6.31%, protein 65.46%, fat 5.46%, crude fiber 0 and water content an average of 6.32%, These results indicate the quality of fish meal is included in standard I based on the quality of SNI 2013 as feed material. Eight (8) types of fish meal that have low economic value and potential to be developed as feed ingredients include Kaca fish (Kurtus gulliveri, Pasir fish (Platycephalus endrachtensis), Bete-Bete fish (Rhinoprenes pentanemus), Duri Herkules fish (Arius sp), and Duri putih fish (Arius leptaspis).
