Abstract

Various competencies that students need to master in an effort to strengthen competitiveness, especially in the field of human resources in the 21st century. Learning media integrated with technology is one of the important learning resources to support the learning process. The lack of innovation in the use of learning media that is integrated with technology makes it less optimal for the achievement of learning objectives and mastery of competencies by students. This study aims to identify the need for opportunities for developing instructional media that are integrated with flipbook-based technology in the hope that it can increase students' opportunities in improving scientific literacy skills. This research is a qualitative research with a survey method. Data collection techniques using observations and needs analysis questionnaires. The quantitative data from the questionnaire were then analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques using percentages that were displayed in a table. The research subjects took senior high school students in grades one and two, with a total of 70 students. The results of this study indicate that 35.7% of students stated that teachers still use Microsoft Powerpoint media and 27.1% of printed teaching materials. The results also showed that students had positive perceptions of the opportunities for developing and utilizing flipbooks as a medium for digital learning. Through the results of this research, it can become the basis for educators in developing and implementing flipbook-based digital learning media to facilitate the learning process.

Abstract

The implementation of online learning tends to make students bored if they only use learning media in the form of videos taken from YouTube and assignments given by the teacher through Google Classroom and Whatsapp groups. The limited ability of teachers to use digital learning media is the cause of the monotony of learning media during online learning. The purpose of this study is to describe the design and validity of the learning media application being developed. This development research applies the ADDIE model. Data collection was carried out by using a questionnaire method with a questionnaire instrument. The data analysis used qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis methods. The subject of this development research is learning media in the form of an android application. Furthermore, the subject matter is reviewed by expert validators, learning design experts, media experts. Finally, the students conducted trials individually and in small groups. The results of data analysis based on media validation by material experts obtained a score of 92.8% with very good qualifications, learning design experts got a score of 87.5% with good qualifications, learning media experts got a score of 85% with good qualifications. The results of individual trials on 3 students obtained a score of 90.1% with very good qualifications and tests through small group testing on 9 students obtained a score of 90.9% with very good qualifications. Based on the results of the analysis of product test data by experts and the results of testing on students, it is concluded that this research learning media is valid and suitable for use in learning by grade VI students.

Abstract

The inadequate condition of the laboratory, facilities, and infrastructure is the main obstacle to the lack of practicum activities. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of discovery-based virtual laboratory learning in improving science process skills of students. This type of research is a one-group-pretest-postest design research. Population and sample taken were students who took Basic Chemistry II course. The data collection method was carried out in a documentary manner and data analysis was in the form of calculating the percentage increase in science process skills and the criteria for the effectiveness of N-Gain. The results obtained were discovery-based virtual laboratory learning that succeeded in improving students' science process skills. Science process skills with high criteria increased by 91% and in the moderate category by 9%. Based on the N-Gain calculation, discovery-based virtual laboratory learning obtained an average percentage of effectiveness of 66% so it can be concluded that discovery-based virtual laboratory learning is quite effective in improving student science process skills. Through discovery-based virtual laboratory learning, student science process skills are more easily developed so that learning becomes more meaningful.

Abstract

Diving training at Basarnas is constrained by distance so that it has an impact on the performance of employees' duties as individuals. This study aims to develop a flipped classroom for diving environment training for rescuers and obtain results to assess their feasibility. This study produces a research design and learning development with steps and procedures, namely using a multimedia-based learning design with stages ranging from assessment and needs analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The techniques used to analyze the data are qualitative and quantitative analysis. The development steps taken refer to the web-based learning design combined with the PEDATI model at the design stage. The feasibility test is obtained based on the assessment of experts including material experts, learning design experts and media experts as well as testing for users to get suggestions for improvement. From the results of this study, it was found that the evaluation of training material experts with a total percentage value of 94.79%, expert validation of learning design 90.27%, and validation by instructional media experts 90.38%. The results of the individual one-to-one test are concluded to be very valid and can be used without revision, and for tests in small groups the average assessment is very valid without revision. It can be concluded that Flipped Classroom learning is suitable for use in diving environment training using cooperative learning.

Abstract

The learning strategy applied so far is still not optimal to develop students' thinking skills. Learning that includes problem solving skills to students as teacher candidates have not yet substantially implemented. This research aims to find learning methods that can improve students' thinking skills as teacher candidates, especially problem solving skills. This research was conducted using a descriptive type of general survey method. Using Slovin formula and 5% error, a sample of 340 students was proportionally selected from 2289 students as a population. Data collection using a problem solving skills questionnaire that rearranged based on the concept of the simplexity thinking process Basadur. However, this study shows that there are significant differences (p<0.05) from problem solving skills based on the level of satisfaction of teacher candidates to the learning methods implemented by lecturers. However, there were no significant differences in problem-solving skills based on course, gender, middle school background, and year of admission (p>0.05) after analyzed with one-way ANOVA. This study shows that satisfaction with learning is in line with the problem-solving skills of teacher candidates. Therefore, it is important for institutions that produce vocational teacher candidates to teach problem solving skills and maintain their level of satisfaction in the learning process.

Abstract

The students' difficulty understanding lecture material is due to the lack of learning media that can help students learn independently. This study aims to develop a learning video tutorial based on the Screencastify screen record. This type of research is developmental research. The development model used is the Plomp development model. The development of the learning model is divided into three stages, namely the initial research, the prototype production, and the model assessment stage. The technique of collecting data in this research is observation and interview. The instrument used to collect data was a questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out to know the feasibility or validity of the product being developed. Media testing uses expert judgment. The validity measurement uses the Likert scale. The results of the validity and practicality of the validators were carried out by using the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) test using the SPSS program. The results showed that the educational statistics tutorial videos were classified as valid for all categories and very practical, with a score of 85.5 based on students' answers as respondents. It can be concluded that the learning video developed is valid so that it is feasible to be applied in the learning process.
