Abstract

Most students still tend to assume that mathematics is a difficult subject to understand, and the lecture method still dominates the way teachers teach. To overcome this problem, one solution to increase student motivation is to use the Game-Based Learning (GBL) model with the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach. Combining the two can create a more effective and relevant learning model for students from diverse backgrounds. The study aims to analyze the increase in student learning motivation through the implementation of the CRT integrated GBL learning model. This research method is quasi-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Before and after learning, a motivation questionnaire with 20 statements was distributed to 19 students to measure their learning motivation. Learning took place over two meetings, during which students were actively involved in activities that introduced concepts gradually until they achieved the learning objectives. The data collected were then analyzed using the gain index (N-Gain) to assess the increase in motivation. The results of the study showed that the CRT-integrated GBL learning model is effective in increasing students' learning motivation because this approach not only offers games but also designs activities that guide students in gradually understanding concepts and achieving learning objectives.

Abstract

Education is guaranteed by the state to ensure continuity and accessibility for all learners, aiming to provide equal educational opportunities for all students, including those with Special Needs (SN). Inclusive education is a crucial step toward achieving this goal. However, limitations in resources and community support often hinder its implementation in primary schools. The objective of this research is to elucidate how the principles of inclusion are applied in Elementary School. This study employs a qualitative approach and a case study methodology. Data were collected through the examination of inclusive support facilities, documentation of the Individual Learning Program (ILP), and interviews with teachers, parents of SN students, and Special Assistance Teachers (SAT). The interactive model developed by Miles & Huberman was utilized for data analysis to identify patterns, themes, and systemic solutions. The findings indicate that the school has implemented an inclusive program by modifying the curriculum, providing teacher training, and collaborating with the local community. Nevertheless, challenges such as a limited number of SATs, inadequate facilities, and a lack of community understanding remain significant obstacles. Ongoing training for teachers, enhancement of facilities, and raising awareness about the importance of inclusive education are solutions being implemented. This research demonstrates that systemic policies supporting community collaboration and capacity building within schools are essential for creating an inclusive and sustainable learning environment.

Abstract

The problem that occurs in mathematics learning in grade V is the low metacognitive ability and numerical literacy of students. This happens because the evaluation given is still limited to memorizing formulas alone. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of ethnomathematics-based e-evaluation to improve students' numerical literacy and metacognitive abilities. The research model used is the ADDIE development model (analyze, design, development, implementation, evaluation). The subjects of this study were 35 grade V students. The data collection method used in this study was a questionnaire and test. The data collection instrument in this study will use a rating scale and a short essay test. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive and inferential statistics. Based on the t-test table on the metacognitive ability variable, it was found that the significance value (2-tailed) was 0.000. These results indicate that the significance value is less than 0.05 (significance level 5%) or p <0.05. This means that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Then in the numerical literacy variable, it was found that the significance value (2-tailed) was 0.000. These results indicate that the significance value is less than 0.05 (significance level 5%) or p <0.05. This means that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Based on these results, it can be concluded that ethnomathematics-based e-evaluation can be used in mathematics learning because it is effective in improving students' metacognitive and literacy abilities.
