Abstract

The consequences of learning and the longer duration of time compared to in-service teacher professional education programs have not received adequate attention from several related parties. In fact, these two things can be supporting factors for pre-service teacher professional education students to be able to successfully complete their studies. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of resilience of professional teacher education (PPG) students. This research is a case study. The subjects of this research involved pre-service students at a private educational university, especially those from the guidance and counseling study program. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews with 7 pre-service teacher professional education students selected based on the characteristics and objectives of the case study. This study is found that the implementation of pre-service teacher professional education for students is very difficult and quite emotionally draining, so that students are required to have good academic resilience. Moreover, in the three dimensions of academic resilience that researchers studied, the average resilience of Pre-Service Teacher Professional Education students is manifested in several activities such as: going for a walk, doing a hobby, confiding in a partner or colleague, crying, and being grateful to manage feelings of stress and negatives emotions that often appear.

Abstract

Family is the safest place for children, but often, some children feel the opposite. Ironically, the family is sometimes a place where violence occurs, which is often known as domestic violence. This violence does not only happen to wives but can also happen to children and even teenagers, both men and women. Adolescents who experience violence in the family will have poor physical and psychological health, making it difficult for them to forget or even forgive the events they experienced. This research aims to determine the relationship between forgiveness and psychological well-being, especially for adolescent victims of domestic violence. The type of research used is quantitative with a correlational design. A total of 42 teenage victims of domestic violence became participants using purposive sampling techniques. The measuring tool in this research is the Enright Forgiveness Inventory. The research results show that there is a significant positive correlation between forgiveness and psychological well-being in adolescent victims of domestic violence. These results indicate that forgiveness is one of the factors that influences the psychological well-being of adolescent victims of domestic violence. This means that when there is an increase in forgiveness, psychological well-being will increase, and vice versa.

Abstract

Blind people who have special needs show that limitations in moving and motor skills require self-confidence in playing music through the practice process. This study aims to analyze the process of achieving self-efficacy in blind students, by describing the process of achieving self-efficacy using Bandura's theory, namely cognitive processes, motivational processes, affective processes, and selection processes. The four processes of achieving self-efficacy show events that occur in individuals that influence situations such as emotional conditions that prioritize themselves rather than the influence of others. This study uses a qualitative approach to case study design with data collection techniques through semi-structured interviews and data analysis using thematic analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the self-efficacy of blind students is born from the support of parents and the campus environment. Parental support is a motivation for him to take music courses. Meanwhile, the campus environment makes him feel that he has social support and success in learning. The findings of this study can be a guide for music educators, music therapists, and policy makers in developing better inclusive music programs to increase confidence in playing music.

Abstract

Sexual harassment can have long-term negative effects on victims, one of which is a decrease in self-compassion. A decline in self-compassion may hinder the achievement of individuals’ developmental tasks. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of feminist counseling services using expressive writing techniques to enhance self-compassion among students who are victims of sexual harassment. The research employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design. The study population consisted of 60 students who had experienced sexual harassment. The data collection instrument used was a self-compassion scale developed by Kristin Neff and translated by Sugianto et al. The sample consisted of six female students with low levels of self-compassion who were selected using purposive sampling techniques. These six students received feminist group counseling interventions using expressive writing techniques over five sessions. Data were analyzed using the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The analysis yielded a Z value of -2.207 and an asymp. sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.027, which is lower than the alpha level of 0.05, indicating a significant increase in scores before and after the intervention. Therefore, it can be concluded that feminist group counseling with expressive writing techniques is effective in enhancing self-compassion among students who are victims of sexual harassment.
