Abstract

Amid the widespread dissemination of digital information, elementary school students' ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating information and making ethical decisions remains a critical challenge that is often overlooked in conventional curricula. This study aims to map students' judgment profiles in validating information, identifying information bias, and making ethical decisions in authentic real-life contexts. Using a descriptive-exploratory design with the Many-Facet Rasch Model (MFRM), this study involved 26 sixth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using an essay-based Situational Judgment Test (SJT) designed to measure the dimensions of information literacy, logical bias detection, and moral reasoning. Wright Map analysis revealed an asymmetrical developmental pattern: students demonstrated strong cognitive resilience in identifying health-related hoaxes and hyperbolic advertising, yet exhibited considerable vulnerability in detecting gender bias and information manipulation in digital marketplace contexts. Furthermore, students showed ambiguity in decision-making when confronted with peer pressure. These findings suggest that students' critical judgment remains fragmented by cultural hegemony and prevailing social norms. This study highlights the need for pedagogical transformation through the integration of case-based learning that explicitly develops students' capacity to deconstruct social biases, thereby fostering the development of critical, ethical, and responsible digital citizens.

Abstract

The problem in this research lies in the suboptimal teaching readiness of prospective elementary school teachers in the digital era. This condition results from a lack of integration among material mastery, educational technology competency, and professional attitudes in pedagogical practice. This research aims to analyze, evaluate, and test. The influence of material mastery, educational technology competency, and professional attitude on teaching readiness and the moderating role of Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK). This study is quantitative and employs a causal-correlational design. The subjects were 355 elementary school student teachers, who also served as trial subjects through saturated sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used multiple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results showed that all three variables simultaneously had a significant effect on teaching readiness, while they partially varied in their influence. PCK was shown to significantly moderate and strengthen the relationships among variables and to increase the model's predictive power. The conclusion of this study confirms that teaching readiness is not only determined by competency mastery, but by the integration of competencies through PCK. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of strengthening PCK in the education of prospective teachers.

Abstract

Increasing competition between handmade batik (batik tulis), printed batik products, and modern textile products has led to a decline in the sales performance of Batik Tulis Najma. This condition highlights the need for a deeper understanding of cultural factors that contribute to shaping customer satisfaction in culture-based small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This study aims to analyze, evaluate, and examine the influence of authenticity, cultural value communication, and cultural education on customer satisfaction at Batik Tulis Najma. This study employed a quantitative approach using an explanatory survey design. The research participants consisted of 106 customers of Batik Tulis Najma, while the research instrument was piloted on 30 respondents. Data were collected through a survey method using validated Likert-scale questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with the assistance of the software SmartPLS 4. The findings reveal that authenticity has a positive and significant effect and emerges as the most dominant factor in enhancing customer satisfaction. Cultural value communication was also found to have a significant positive influence on customer satisfaction. Meanwhile, cultural education does not directly affect customer satisfaction but exerts an indirect influence through strengthening perceptions of authenticity and the communication of cultural values. The study concludes that customer satisfaction in culture-based batik industries is largely determined by customers' perceptions of product authenticity and the ability of business owners to effectively communicate the cultural values embedded within their products.

Abstract

Elementary school students' moral awareness still needs to be strengthened so that character values are not only understood cognitively but also reflected in daily behavior. One cause is the implementation of character education, which is often not fully integrated into learning, school culture, and the family environment. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Kindness strategy as an integrative model in character education to build students' moral awareness in elementary schools. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design involving principals, teachers, students, and parents who were selected purposively. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies using observation guidelines, interview guidelines, and school documents as research instruments. Data analysis was conducted using coding techniques including open coding, axial coding, and selective coding to generate main themes. The results showed that the implementation of the Kindness strategy took place through the integration of values in learning, habituation in school culture, and reinforcement through role models and collaboration with families. This strategy was able to encourage the internalization of students' moral values through repeated social interactions and a conducive environment. The study concluded that the Kindness strategy is an integrative and contextual character education model in building students' moral awareness. These findings provide implications for the development of more holistic and sustainable character education policies and practices in elementary schools.

Abstract

The Society 5.0 era requires Indonesian language learning to focus not only on language proficiency but also on strengthening digital literacy as a multidimensional competency. However, in educational practice, digital literacy is often treated as a complementary element rather than being fully integrated into the learning process. This study aims to analyze the strategies for implementing digital literacy in Indonesian language learning that are relevant to the demands of the 21st century and the Society 5.0 era. This research employed a qualitative approach using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) design. The research subjects consisted of 10 scholarly articles on digital literacy in Indonesian language learning published between 2021 and 2025 and retrieved from Google Scholar, with no trial participants involved. Data were collected through document analysis using an article extraction and analysis sheet covering research objectives, methods, implementation strategies, and findings. Data were analyzed through the stages of identification, screening, selection, data reduction, synthesis, and thematic interpretation. The findings indicate that the implementation of scientific debates, interactive digital media, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and ethics-based digital literacy training can enhance students’ language skills, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and digital responsibility. Nevertheless, the implementation remains constrained by limited infrastructure, unequal access to technology, and varying levels of teachers’ digital competence. The study concludes that digital literacy should be integrated as an essential component of Indonesian language learning rather than merely serving as a supporting tool. The implications highlight the need for policies and learning strategies that strengthen teachers’ digital competencies and foster adaptive, critical, and responsible learners.

Abstract

In vocational education, the transmission of historical and cultural values is often sidelined by priorities focused on technical competence, creating a disconnect between students and their cultural identities. This study examines how integrating Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) into Project-Based Learning (PjBL) enhances the creativity and cultural awareness of vocational students. The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) involving 40 students across two reflective cycles. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, project assessments, and student reflection sheets. Analysis used a descriptive-qualitative approach which comprised data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing complemented by a comparative analysis of results between cycles. The findings indicate that Cycle 1, which utilized digital design platforms, successfully fostered technical engagement but failed to capture the philosophical depth of the cultural heritage. Consequently, Cycle 2 shifted the learning focus toward immersive experiential strategies, connecting students directly with artisans to facilitate authentic cultural transmission. The findings reveal a profound transformation: students evolved from passive reproducers of digital motifs into active cultural agents capable of reinterpreting traditional philosophies into innovative physical products. The study concludes that the synergy between PjBL and CRT is a powerful strategy for bridging tradition and modernity, strengthening both creativity and cultural resilience among vocational students. The implications of this study indicate that integrating CRT into PjBL can develop technical competence, creativity, and cultural literacy.
