Abstract

--- Industry 4.0 is emerging as one of the most modern supply chain and manufacturing practices. Unfortunately, there are many challenges at organizational, legal, strategic and technological fronts which are barring implementation of industry 4.0 in manufacturing sector of Thailand. Such challenges can potentially be coped through supply chain agility and subsequently supply chain resilience as both provide enough sustainability to overall organization that can take care of implementation of Industry 4.0. This study has been conducted to determine the impact of supply chain agility on organizational, legal, strategic and technological challenges in the way of implementation of industry 4.0. Furthermore, mediating role of supply chain resilience has also been checked in relationship between agility and challenges. A questionnaire survey has been used to collect the data from Thailand’s manufacturing sector employees and the same data was then analyzed through structural equation modeling for hypotheses testing. Results have interpreted significant impact of agility on challenges in implementation of Industry 4.0 while mediating role of resilience have also been flagged significant in respective relationship. Novelty in this research was testing agility and resilience as predictors to resolve challenges for Industry 4.0. This study will help different sectors of economy in a successful transition towards Industry 4.0.

Abstract

Supply chain managers often apply aggregate planning techniques to develop make or buy decisions or even make for stock versus make to order scenarios for example. These scenarios often contain combinations of inventory holding vs capacity installed. Many supply chain managers have used ‘what-if’ decisions to develop supply chain scenarios to help them determine optimum results in terms of low cost and improved customer service. This study aims to create eight scenarios of varying inventory replenishment policies for one fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) organisation. The aim is to provide the supply chain manager with alternative options for lower inventory and yet be able to service the FMCG businesses at lowest cost. The results show that this allows supply chain managers to pick the scenario that optimises an organisation’s resources and competitive strategy.

Abstract

Abstract- The level of revisit intention in hotel resorts in Indonesia has increased from 2017 to 2018. From the data of the Indonesia tourism ministry, the last 10 months hotel occupancy rates in Indonesia have increased significantly compared to the year of 2017, but in the West Java region there is a phenomenon of fluctuation hotel room occupancy, especially in resort types, this is related to the rise and fall of brand image and perceived value. The arrangement of vacationer goal image has been looked into in the course of recent decades and is viewed as a standout amongst the most vital regions or research in image showcasing. It's important builds comprise of the image psychological and full of feeling image alongside its general image which has all the more as of late been incorporated and connected to the intellectual impacts of occasion decision and attitude. This study tests quantitatively whether attitude becomes intervening between brand image and perceived value towards revisiting intention, using a partial least square method to analyze data, a survey with questionnaires on 100 consumers of resort hotels in Bandung City by considering the supply chain management. The result showed that consumer attitude in Bandung City is not significant as an intervening role for brand image perceived value and revisit intention.

Abstract

Green logistic considers those actions which can minimize the ecological impact of logistics activities. The purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of green logistics activities on the circular economy indicators of ASEAN. This study has considered four ASEAN members including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore, from 2000 to 2015 with yearly observations. For analyzing the relationship between selected factors of green logistics activities and circular economy, three panel models under the title of ordinary least square OLS, fixed effect and random effect was applied. The main findings of the study show that there is significant influence of Transportation and communication (TC) on recycling rate of selected economies under all three panel models. However, the factor of mining, manufacturing, and construction has shown their significant and positive impact on the recycling rate in ASEAN. Similarly, the effect of TC on specific waste streams is found to be significant and negative under all panel estimators. Further, the factor of MMC is significantly and positively influencing on contribution of recycled materials to raw material demands in selected regions. However, trade of recyclable raw materials has shown an adverse influence from TC under full sample of the study. The findings of the study would be of significant support to the policymakers and various stakeholders in ASEAN economies while exploring the relationship between green logistics activities and selected indicators of circular economy. To the best of author’s knowledge, there has been a dearth of research studies specifically with empirical findings, examining the association between green logistics and circular economy. Therefore, this research could be assumed as tentative addition to the literature of economics.  However, present study has some limitations which could be addressed in future studies. First, study has considered limited number of logistic indicators for analyzing their impact on the circular economy. Second, application of some advanced panel models like GMM is missing which may provide some different findings in future research. Third, only four ASEAN members are selected from the entire population. It is suggested that future studies can also conduct a cross-sectional or time series analysis on a similar topic too.

Thus, the library user survey has been conducted during the past few years. However, the study unable to place the correct position of library services. In order to determine in greater detail how the users perceived the various services offered by the PPAK, KANO model instrument was used. To achieve this objective, a set of questionnaire was prepared consisting of 50 items, and distributed to 500 respondents. Among these questionnaires, the valid numbers only 265 or 53%. Two hundred and thirty five was rejected because of filled out incompletely. At the first stage, the data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science Package (SPSS). Then, the second stage Microsoft excel was employed to categorize the Kano s classification. The seven dimensions quality (easy to access, service is compatible, effectiveness of services, efficiency of services, service is reliable, provide right services, and the competency of staff) services taking from ALUS model were employed. Then, the users perception was analyzed and compared. Service quality requirements were classified into five Kano s classification attractive, must-be, one-dimensional, indifferent and questionable/reverse. The study found that PPAK service quality classified in Indifferent . Proposed for further research also discussed.

Abstract

Abstract- The oil and gas industry is involved in a global supply-chain that includes domestic and international transportation, ordering and inventory visibility and control, materials handling, import/export facilitation and information technology. Thus, the industry offers a classic model for implementing supply-chain management techniques. In a supply-chain, a company is linked to its upstream suppliers and downstream distributors as materials, information, and capital flow through the supply-chain. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the role of supply-chain management in the oil and gas industry. The challenges of a growing innovative economy impose the need to consider the context of the analyzed area with the characteristics of a mono-raw oil and gas group in a sparsely populated territory by supply chain strategy. The paper considers the key factors for reducing costs and increasing the company’s profits in managing supply chains: demand management, efficient distribution of petroleum products among customers, better transportation scheduling, warehouse management, and quality and timeliness of information through the automation of the supply chain. Revising the ways to expand the production capabilities will ensure the achievement of sustainable development of the Atyrau region not only in the medium but also in the long-term perspectives when oil is replaced by other sources, which will make the region less attractive for investors. Results show that implementation of supply-chain management in the oil industry can help to reduce costs, increase the company’s profits in managing supply, and manage the planning of deliveries.

Abstract

In the context of a need to expand the export potential of greenhouse vegetables of Uzbekistan, the goal of this research was to develop an approach to determining development strategies for greenhouse businesses in Uzbekistan on the international vegetable market. By means of correlation and regression analysis and a method of expert assessment, a system of indicators has been determined that quantitatively and qualitatively defines the competitiveness of Uzbek greenhouse businesses on the international vegetable market. A data array has been formed by standardized values of indicators for Uzbekistan in 2012–2018 aggregated annually (the time series was seven observations). The analytic hierarchy process by [1] and Fibonacci numbers have been used to develop models for comparative assessment of competitive advantages and to calculate an integrated index of countries’ competitiveness on the global greenhouse vegetable market. Based on the indices of competitiveness and world vegetable prices, a matrix of countries’ strategies on the international vegetable market has been formed. This matrix has testified that greenhouse businesses in Uzbekistan are positioned in a trade-off area with an overcharging strategy. The results obtained have allowed the authors to identify key threats to the sales of vegetables and to develop practical recommendations for expanding the export potential of greenhouse businesses in Uzbekistan on the international vegetable market.

Abstract

Natural fibre is an environmentally friendly raw material that has a great potential to develop, and is abundantly available in nature [1]. Currently, the growth of natural fibre processing industries in the world has been increasingly important [2]. Processing of abundant natural fibre in both upstream and downstream productions requires effective and collaborative supply chain management in terms of information sharing. Thus, an intelligent system would be implemented in supply chain management from upstream to downstream. Based on review of 46 scientific papers discussing on types of natural fibre, process, technology, and methods, as well as application areas of natural fibre in downstream industries. According to review on different aspects in 55 scientific papers, there were 5 aspects mapped, i.e. supply chain analytic, value chain, performance, collaboration, big data, and decision support system. A concept of 4.0 industry underlies utilization of opportunities for application of supply chain analytic [3]. Upcoming research opportunities include mediating relationship in supply chain network by utilizing Internet of things (IoT) and Big data (BD), in a collaborative relationship to use information sharing. The most possibly contributing research is the development of collaboration between supply chain and genetic algorithm [4]. Integration between production and inventory planning becomes an approach that utilizes Particle swarm optimization (PSO) by developing production planning [5], and production and inventory planning [6]. There is a research opportunity in the design of intelligent supply chain for natural fibre agroindustry by implementing IoT and BD as a tool in supply chain analytic, collaboration through Collaboration prediction forecasting and replenishment (CPFR) that occurs between stakeholders with the aim of improving agroindustry supply chain performance in production integration material and inventory, and performance measurement by integrating the Value chain operation reference (VCOR) model developed in supply chain analytic.
