Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of financial condition, auditor's reputation, disclosure of financial statements, audit opinion of the previous year, supply chain strategy on going concern audit opinion. Sampling in this study was obtained using a purposive sampling method by focusing on banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the 2015-2018 period, so that a sample of 24 companies was obtained with 96 observations. The data analysis method used in this study was Warp PLS version 5.0. Based on the results of the analysis it is known that the variables of financial condition, auditor's reputation, disclosure of financial statements, and audit opinions of the previous year affect the going concern audit opinion. In addition, the supply chain strategy moderates the auditor's reputation for going concern audit opinion. The implication of this research is that investors are required to pay attention to negative signals when investing related to the sustainability of the company's life or in other words an early warning for investment decisions.

Abstract

Bus service is the most practical sustainable transport solution for National Park. Unfortunately, there are various kinds of difficulties that prevent sustainable transport from being perfectly running, which are basically from two birthplaces, the people and the facilities. Of these, the current investigation is conducted to study the supply chain strategy for achieving sustainable transport at National Park, Jerantut, Pahang Malaysia. This quantitative study conducted by using a survey questionnaire to different groups, i.e., local community and National Park visitors. The data analyzed using the descriptive statistics analysis, which consist of frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Also, this study uses graphical descriptive analysis. The results of the analysis show that the car is the most favourable method of transport followed by motorcycle. The reasons are not solely because of the lack of bus service. However, both local and tourist feel that they are more accessible, more comfortable and faster than the public bus. Thus, this study suggested that public transport facilities must be upgraded with better roads and better bus stops. Payment methods and tickets’ price is merely not a big issue for National Park. For promoting a sustainability issue, the National Park required more enhancements, not just the bus, the roads around also must be facilitated with more eco-friendly infrastructures to promote walking and cycling. Keywords— Supply Chain Strategy, Sustainable Transport, National Park, Tourist

Abstract

An Indonesian Cement Company is facing the number of product’s defects in the packing process more than 200.000 bags or sacs annually. It is estimated to cause losses more than one billion rupiahs  per year. Therefore, the Six Sigma method was proposed to solve this problem. This study was constitute a descriptive research; whereas based on its strategy, this study was constitute a case study; In addition based on time horizon, this study was constitute a longitudinal study. In the research used DMAIC processes, namely encompasses Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. The research’s results found that the existing process quality of cement packing in the company is out of control. So that the improvement process is needed by eliminating the causes of its. The main cause that must be a priority in its improvement is the machine (belt-conveyor) condition in the cement packing process. The main solution to prevent the occurrence of the main cause namely by checking the machine (belt-conveyor) before and after shift exchange by using a checksheet periodically. By implementing the Six Sigma method, it is hoped that the cement company can reduce or eliminate the existing waste estimated amount of  one billion rupiah annually

Abstract

A policy of high rice prices can increase paddy farm incomes but also cause a rise in rice expenditures for farm households. Such a policy is needed to stimulate production but can harm rice consumers, especially poor families. We surveyed 284 paddy farmers in Gantar Sub-District, Indramayu Regency, Indonesia to analyze the impact of increasing rice prices on farmers’ net incomes, including poor paddy farmers. We found that a price increase benefits farmer if the price transmission elasticity is more than 0.2 for non-poor paddy farmers or 0.6 for poor paddy farmers. A high rice price policy can benefit paddy farmers if there is good price transmission in the market. Good transmission requires a strong rice market efficiency channel.

Abstract

Purpose – The aim of this study is twofold. In academia, this study attempts to enrich the scarce empirical literature regarding Supply Chain Finance (SCF) adoptions. In practice, this study aims to support the buyers and suppliers in a supply chain that consider the application of blockchain technology in SCF, especially in emerging countries.Design/ methodology/ approach – Through a cross-industry survey, 152 responses from companies located in China have been collected to test the hypotheses empirically.Findings – The results show that buyer-supplier financing alignment could positively influence on the buyer-supplier financing performance in the context of Chinese companies. However, insufficient evidence exists to suggest a moderating effect of SCF challenges.Research limitations/ implications – Future study may identify the related challenges within the blockchain technology-driven SCF. An additional in-depth case study might be a desirable methodology to realize how Chinese companies implement SCF, and gain insights that are more practical. Another possibility is to generalize the research model to other emerging countries. Further, future research may also consider involving other participants within the supply chain to investigate the SCF issues in China.Practical implications – This paper implies that both buyers and suppliers could consider applying blockchain technology-driven SCF to enhance the financial performance in a supply chain. Additionally, when companies are implementing SCF, it is essential to maintain the long-term buyer-supplier relationship in order to improve the financing performance. Originality/ value – This study enriches the scarce empirical researches regarding SCF adoptions. Meanwhile, this study tries to shed light on the influence of buyer-supplier financing alignment on buyer-supplier financing performance, especially in the emerging country. Keywords – Supply chain finance, Finance collaboration, Finance performance, Challenges, China

Abstract

We study the selection of direct delivery / indirect delivery for LTL shipment in a two-echelon supply chain composed of a central distribution center (DC), an intermediate cross-docking center (XD) and customers, where the direct delivery is a shipment directly from the DC to customers, and the indirect delivery is a shipment to customers via the XD. We develop an optimization model that selects direct delivery / indirect delivery, taking into account the feature of volume discount. The volume discount is modeled as a nonlinear concave function and reformulated as MILP by a piecewise linearization technique. We propose a new analysis framework to account for the choice of direct / indirect delivery based on two indices, Distance-Ratio (DR), which is the ratio of the distance between direct and indirect delivery, and Demand Quantity (DQ). Based on this analysis, a heuristic solution using a support-vector-machine-based discriminant analysis model using the indices DR and DQ was proposed. In numerical experiments, the proposed heuristics were compared to the optimal solution for 100 randomly generated problem cases, and the error was shown to be within 0.8%.

Abstract

Abstract— Inventory management is vital in supply chain performance of a firm.  The inventory turnover ratio measures the number of times a company sells its inventory during the year. This study aims to determine the factors that directly affect the intention of turnover of lecturer’s with the dimensions of work-life balance, job satisfaction, work engagement, and organizational commitment. The research design is used a quantitative approach, survey method, stratified random sampling, with path analysis model. The results of the study indicate that work-life balance has a direct effect on job satisfaction, job satisfaction has a direct effect on work engagement, and job satisfaction through work engagement has an effect on organizational commitment. Job satisfaction through organizational commitment has an effect on turnover intention. This study is in accordance with the results of previous studies but with different indicators. Lecturers as a social human with collectivism culture as Indonesia needs policies in managing them without ignoring what they need in work, family, and personal in a global era, AEC, ICT, regulation changes, and competitiveness.
