The population of the study were humanitarian organizations in Jordan. Sampling consisted of searching from different websites, forums, and the ministry of planning and International Corporation. The analysis and result part indicated that the interviews conducted from the case studies were similar in result. The result was similar because the barriers identified were similar. Abstract

Abstract— The Economic development increasingly requires sustainable supply chains of goods and services at the regional, national and global levels. Labor markets are as important as building the supply chain infrastructure; unbalanced labor market negatively affects supply chains by making them experience significant difficulties in hiring personnel necessary to ensure supply-chain sustainability. In turn, the labor market and its balance are influenced by a number of factors which are not fully reflected in available studies. This confirms the relevance of the present research. The purpose of the study is to investigate factors affecting labor force in the supply chain. Based on the comparative, didactic and descriptive analysis of regional and national demographic and socio-economic indicators, labor market indicators of the Turkestan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan as an indicative region, the study of national and international legislation, practices and literature related to supply chains and the labor market, the following results were obtained. The region is dominated by agricultural and industrial supply chains with a significant prevalence of the former. Despite the enormous agro-industrial, transport, resource, mineral and raw material, climatic, educational and labor potential of the region, the development of the region, the creation of new and development of existing supply chains are significantly hampered by a number of reasons, including inefficient and low-productivity agriculture, technological backwardness, and immobility of material and technical resources. Common factors affecting the labor surplus of a region (country) have been identified in the study based on the example of the given region. The major factors are a high natural and mechanical population growth rate; high growth rates of human resources that outstrip the growth rate of jobs; prevailing rural population; a deeper crisis in traditional industries and decreased enterprise demand for the labor force. The research methods and results will allow scientists and public officers to apply the information to design national and regional programs aimed at developing regions, creating regional, national and global supply chains, labor market development, including solving the problems of its imbalance and labor surplus.

Abstract

Abstract- This conceptual paper is aimed to explore critical factors of the Islamic supply chain for their economic impact in the region of Indonesia. The variable used in this study is the strategy of Halal supply chain and optimizing the potential of economy. The data analysis used was qualitative descriptive. The results of the research carried out were the supply chain strategy carried out by the Halal management institution in Palembang, namely by establishing halal strategy collection units which were placed in several government agencies such as government agencies and companies as well as cooperating with banks, government officials, and religious leaders. The strategy for halal supply chain can be done by OPZ, LAZIS or BAZIS through the payment system, among others; supports from government and private; halal hub; differentiation between Muslim and non-Muslim suppliers; halal  control  and  labeling; also be paid through Islamic banking services. We highlighted that in fulfilling the orders from customer, complete segregation between halal and non-halal products throughout the supply chain is strictly required. The manufacturing flow management is about physical handling of the products that must be controlled from the origin to the consumption points. In addition, procurement also plays an important role in the supply chain, which is according to Tieman et  al. (2012), to define and manage the upstream supply chain networks.  It  covers  purchasing  strategy,  selection  of  suppliers,  ordering, evaluating suppliers, and determining the specification

Abstract

ABSTRACTSupply Chain Management has been an iatrical part of the business world for as long as we can remember. As we move forward from the industrial revolution to the digital information era the importance of the supply chain process has become more and more vital for business sustainability. As the supply chain process of a business becomes more structured over time it incorporates not only process and efficiency, but it also relies on entrepreneurship and networking skills of the business operators. This chapter looks into the case of Bangladesh through an empirical study which was done on 4 growing sectors, namely Real Estate, Furniture and the IT sector. The research data is an attempt to shed some light into a gap in literature regarding supply chain process and how SC is used to tackle business challenges, from the perspective of a nation which has recently been announced as a developing nation. The primary research under consideration looks into four highly potential sectors of Bangladesh. The authors have chosen to go for face-to-face interviews of over 575 business owners/CEOs/Managing Directors to get a detailed perspective of the business challenges they face from their business inception till date and how they use their entrepreneurship skills and the power of networking to mitigate those challenges. The sampling technique chosen was stratified random sampling as there were four different industries with small medium and large companies, all of which have their own business dynamics. Multistage regression analysis was used to decipher the data and bring out a clear picture of how networking is used by these owners to build up their supply chain networks. The study identifies, that in the case of Bangladesh, despite the fact that there are not much institutional support, the courts system remaining a bottleneck due to a combination of red tape and hence not much enforcement of contracts and a shadow of corruption in every sector at every level driving up operational costs; businesses in Bangladesh have continued to expand relying on brand value reputation, reliance of professional networks, to some extent a competitive bidding process and the sheer determination and Entrepreneurs skills of Bangladeshi business owners. The success of certain industries are primarily due to the contribution of human capital where the business owners’ ability to give the business his or her life and make it a successful venture on communication and networking has propelled us towards a steady growth.Key Words: Networking, Entrepreneurship skills, Business Challenges

Abstract

The study is planned to examine the impact of innovation on the SC performance of Indonesian manufacturing firms. Addition to that the study has examined the mediating role of innovation performance and SC performance in the relationship between the innovation ad SC performance of Indonesian textile manufacturing firms. 63.7% response rate was obtained for this survey. The influence of innovativeness on SC integration and SC performance has been empirically tested. The concept of innovativeness has emerged over some recent years and not much applied in the SC context. Therefore, there is a need for manufacturers to focus on innovativeness for improving SC integration and SC performance. There is rare evidence about the direct influence of innovativeness on SC performance. Innovativeness is an ability, which is based on action. Therefore, it cannot directly influence the performance of the SC. There is a need for carrying out practical operations, including SC integration   for improving SC performance. This research is first of its nature in trying to explore the relationship in an integrated manner. Managers in the SC are assisted through innovativeness to improve information development and latest technologies. In this way, effectiveness of services and efficiency can be improved using innovation in business operations.

Abstract

Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is a project method like none other since it emerged as a method that emphasizes on the integration of all aspects involved in the construction project. This paper is theory based and the objectives are to explore the concept of IPD by synthesizing the existing definitions, describing its principles, comparing its delivery phase with other primary project delivery methods, namely Design-Bid-Build (DBB), Construction Manager at Risk (CM at Risk), and Design-Build (DB), and describing the challenges of its implementation under several issues, such as organizational, financial, legal, and technological aspects. Even though in principle, carrying out IPD is able to bring success to a construction project, its implementation in the construction industry is challenging. Therefore, this study has suggested that the development of new ideal project delivery methods is a necessity in order to overcome the existing issues in project delivery methods, toward achieving project success.
