Objective measures included cognitive test scores on counseling material, while subjective measures assessed participants' self-perceptions of their microskill. Results indicated a significant improvement in counseling microskill post-training, with objective and subjective measurements showing increased scores. The subjective analysis yielded a significance value of .000 (p<0.05) with a negative t-value of -12.345, while the objective analysis also showed significance at .000 (p<0.05) with a negative t-value of -10.822. These findings suggest that peer counseling training effectively enhances counseling microskill among university students.

Abstract

Adaptive performance reflects an individual's ability to adapt to changes in the work environment. Although the Adaptive Performance Scale (APS) has been widely used, no version has been adapted into Indonesian. This study aims to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Adaptive Performance Scale (APS), developed by Charbonnier-Voirin & Roussel (2012) and adapted for use in Indonesia, as a tool for measuring individual adaptive performance within an organizational context. This research was conducted in two studies. In study 1, the translation process and content validity testing involved 4 translators, 5 expert reviewers, and 7 laypeople. Meanwhile, study 2 involved 322 employees in Indonesia (134 males; 188 females) aged between 18-58 years (mean age = 28.9 years; SD = 8.1), using purposive sampling technique. The entire adaptation process referred to the International Test Commission (ITS) Guidelines for Test Adaptation. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was utilized to evaluate the measurement model. The results demonstrated that the APS fulfilled the model fit criteria as a multidimensional construct comprising five factors. The APS also demonstrated good reliability. Overall, this study shows that the APS is valid and reliable, making it suitable for measuring adaptive performance in Indonesia.

Abstract

The post-pandemic work culture has undergone significant changes, particularly in work arrangements, with Generation Z being the most affected as they enter the workforce. Amidst the shift, a new phenomenon called Quiet Quitting emerges, threatening the workforce’s productivity through its detrimental effects. This study examined the relationship between job flourishing and quiet quitting tendency among Generation Z employees in Indonesia. Grounded in Social Exchange Theory, the research argues that higher levels of job flourishing are associated with a lower tendency to engage in quiet quitting. A quantitative approach was employed, using purposive sampling and online questionnaires. This study collected 166 respondents from Gen Z employees across Indonesia. The results revealed a significant negative association between job flourishing and quiet quitting. Among the dimensions of job flourishing, emotional well-being was found to have the strongest effect on reducing the quiet quitting tendency. These findings offer valuable insights for organisations and policymakers in developing strategies to foster job flourishing as a means to mitigate quiet quitting and enhance workforce productivity.

Abstract

Indonesian researchers often use translation of a scale before conducting further studies. The process is mainly conducted by back-translation procedures. However, the procedure also has limitations to validate the result; hence, the present study aims try to do an alternative approach to translate the scale, i.e., collaborative/ iterative. By utilizing data from two studies (study 1, 99 respondents; study 2, 124 respondents) on Indonesian students studying outside Indonesia and in Indonesia, the present study uses a T-Test Independent sample to analyze it. The scale is revised of Penn Inventory of Scrupulosity (PIOS-R), which is used to recognize Obsessive-compulsive disorder symptoms with a religius theme. As expected, the results show that the scale's translation is not different from the original version; specifically, the PIOS-R score between the two versions of the scale, English and Indonesia, has no statistical difference. The translation process supports the arguments that explain the collaborative/iterative approach is able to provide a good translation.

Abstract

Despite three years of implementing the Law on Sexual Violence Crimes (UU TPKS) in Indonesia, the number of sexual violence cases remains high, leading this study to focus on wives experiencing domestic sexual violence who choose not to pursue legal action. Employing the empowering photovoice method, which allows participants to share their experiences through photos and narratives, this research reveals the types of sexual violence experienced and their reasons for remaining in abusive relationships. The findings reveal four categories of sexual violence: physical/non-physical sexual harassment, sexual torture, and marital rape. Wives choose to stay due to fears concerning their children's future and the belief in the "obedient wife" ideal. This study highlights the prevalence of domestic sexual violence despite the enactment of the UU TPKS.

Abstract

Empathy is a change in emotional state that results from reflecting on the emotional state of others and experiencing an emotional quality similar to the emotions experienced by other people. The Light-Moran Positive Empathy Scale (PES-15) was developed to measure positive emotional responses to others’ emotional expressions. This study aims to adapt Light-Moran PES-15 and test the validity and reliability of the Indonesian version of Light-Moran PES-15. A total of 101 Indonesian students participated by completing the Indonesian version of Light-Moran PES-15. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Cronbach’s alpha, corrected item-total correlation, and CFA. The Cronbach's alpha result = 0.89 with each dimension being 0.79 and 0.83. Item-total correlation = 0.39 – 0.72. CFI = 1.00, TLI = 1.00, NFI = 0.981 RMSEA = 0.00. This shows that this measuring instrument can be trusted and is able to measure the level of positive empathy with the Indonesian student population. This study provides an important contribution to the development of empathy measurement tool in Indonesia.
