Jurnal Ilmu Perilaku, with registered number ISSN 2581 0421 (online, is published by Department of Psychology Universitas Andalas. Jurnal Ilmu Perilaku publishes original articles on new knowledge and research or research application with current issues in Indonesian Psychology. All submitted manuscripts will be subjected to the peer review process following a thorough inspection by the editors. Jurnal Ilmu Perilaku publishes 5 -7 articles in each edition with 10 - 18 pages long for each article. One volume of Jurnal Ilmu Perilaku divided into two editions, which are published in the 1st and 2nd semester each year. Articles are written in Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian language) OR English. Abstracts must be in English. Publication in this journal is free of charge and all published papers are available online through open access.

Emotion Regulation is important for student social interactions. Inclusive school that facilitate diversity can increase the student conflict. Conflict occurs because of the lack of skill in managing emotion. Therefore, the teacher has a task to support the development of student emotional regulation. The purpose of this study was to empirically examine the role of teacher social-emotional skills on emotional regulation in students at inclusive schools. The participants of this study were 109 students aged 9-13 years from three different inclusive schools at Yogyakarta. The method that used is survey by directly distributing the scale. Student perception about teacher social-emotional skills was measured by Teacher Social and Emotional Practice - Student Perspectives, while emotion regulation is measured with emotion regulation scale. Simple linear regression analysis is used to measure the role of teacher social-emotional skills on emotion regulation. The results showed that student perception about teacher social-emotional skills play a positive role on emotion regulation in students at inclusive schools. The higher student perception about teachers’ social-emotional skill the higher students’ emotion regulation.

Variables of this study are mindfulness, self-compassion, and humor styles that are related to mental health, which are important and become the attention in the world. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of mindfulness and self-compassion in a single way or combine with humor styles. Sample consisted of 261 students from 447 populations and used quantitative approach. Results of the first phase using linear regression to see role of mindfulness toward humor styles stated that mindfulness did not play a role in affiliative humor, but there was a negative role between mindfulness on self-enhancing, aggressive, and self-defeating humor. The second phase using multiple linear regression to see role of mindfulness and self- compassion simultaneously with humor styles show there was a role for mindfulness and self- compassion towards affiliative and self-enhancing, in which self-compassion played a greater role. Whereas in aggressive and self-defeating, self-compassion had less role. Based on a review of the four humor styles, mindfulness and self-compassion have the most role in self-enhancing humor. Thus, researchers suggest students to improve their mindfulness and self-compassion by adding insight, training, and applying them in everyday life.

Innovative behavior has an important influence on the development, excellence, and success of an organization. Therefore, it is important to identify the antecedents of employees' innovative behavior. This study aims to investigate the moderating effect of ambidextrous organization culture in the relationship between leader autonomy support (LAS) and innovative behavior. Data were collected using an online survey (platform surveymonkey). Participants of this study were 117 employees in Jakarta with a tenure minimum of 1 year. Convenience sampling was used as the sampling technique. Data were analyzed by moderation model technique (PROCESS model 1) using Hayes PROCESS on SPSS software. Results showed that leader autonomy support significantly predict innovative behavior (b= 0.50, confidence interval [CI] [0.17, 0.83]). While ambidextrous organization culture significantly moderate the influence of leader autonomy support on innovative behavior (b=0.07, [CI][0.03, 0.12]). The results showed that ambidextrous organization culture moderated the correlation between LAS and innovative behavior. Leader’s support for employee’s innovative behavior should be strengthened and companies are expected to put more effort in understanding the role of situational factors (i.e., ambidextrous organizational culture) in employee’s innovative behavior.

he lack of media information about Schizophrenia in Aceh explains caregivers’ limited understanding of mental disorders. Research on patient discharge systems found that communication media about Schizophrenia were still limited, mostly in the form of posters, flyers, or booklets. There was no specific information about the mental illness needed by the family or caregivers after the patient's discharged from the hospital. This study aims to develop and test a communication medium that can support the recovery process of post-discharge patients from the Mental Health Hospital or Rumah Sakit Jiwa (RSJ) in Aceh. This action research was carried out through focus group discussions (FGDs), interviews, and surveys to health practitioners (mental health nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, community leaders) and family or caregivers of Patients with Schizophrenia (PWS). The study found that messages about Schizophrenia which are developed through a community-based approach are likely to be better accepted than the expert-led information.

The marital dissolution as a traumatic event for children and adolescents might yield different outcomes for each adolescent. Previous studies suggested that adolescents who have high resilience tend to experience positive changes / post- traumatic growth following traumatic events, which results in higher well-being. Hence, it is necessary to conduct research about resilience and post-traumatic growth as predictors of psychological well-being among adolescents who have been through their parents’ marital dissolution. The recent study aims to investigate the relations among those variables. A total of 56 participants (mean age: 15.27; 66.1% female) who lived in Semarang completed three measurements. Correlational, t-test, and path analysis were applied. The result suggests that both resilience and post-traumatic growth significantly and positively correlated toward psychological well-being. Furthermore, post-traumatic growth was found to have a significant partial mediating effect on the relationship between resilience and psychological well-being. These findings suggest that though promoting resilience could improve the psychological well-being of adolescents who have been through their parents’ marital dissolution, clinicians need to ensure that adolescents experience post-traumatic growth through cognitive therapy or counseling sessions to achieve better psychological well-being.

Culture Fair Intelligence Test (CFIT) is a popular nonverbal intelligence measuring instrument used for psychological examination purposes. The figural form of a test with multiple choice as in CFIT can increase the chances of guessing behavior performed by the test subject. Guessing behavior will increase when subjects are encouraged to work on as many uncertain questions as possible whether they know the answer to the question. This behavior can affect the validity of test results in distinguishing quality and under-qualified test subjects. Until now, research related to CFIT psychometric properties is still limited. This study aims to evaluate the validity of CFIT by analyzing the guessing behavior using the Item Response Theory (IRT) method. The sample of this study was 1,955 participants and the results showed that based on IRT 3 PL modeling, the items in the CFIT 3A are still feasible to use. However, CFIT 3A contains items with an unacceptable guessing rate, 12% of the total number of items. The result of model fit test using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) method as an additional analysis shows that validity construct of CFIT 3A is good. It is expected that the results of the study can provide up-to-date information on the quality of CFIT 3A items and become a reference for other relevant research in the future.

The increasing use of social media is followed by the rising spread of fake news. This phenomenon often occurs among middle adults, who usually share the news they receive without knowing the credibility of the news. Looking at the news features is one way to judge its credibility. This study aimed to identify the effect of news’ features, especially the news platform, and supporting data on the news credibility perception in middle adults. This study used an experimental approach with a factorial design. The participants in this research were 120 middle-aged social media users who were assigned randomly in four conditions, namely news with supporting data via Whatsapp, news without supporting data via Whatsapp, news with supporting data via Kompas website, and news without supporting data via Kompas website. The data were collected using an online survey and were analyzed using ANOVA. This study found that there was no significant effect of supporting data and news platforms on news credibility perception in participants. This means that they tend to perceive the credibility of the news without considering the existence of supporting data or reliable news platforms. Adults need to be more careful in believing the news and consider the important aspects that characterize credible news.

Ibu yang bekerja seringkali merasakan parenting stress, terlebih lagi jika tidak dikelola dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran self-compassion dan dukungan sosial terhadap parenting stress pada ibu yang bekerja. Pengambilan data dilakukan secara daring dengan total sebanyak 120 partisipan. Skala penelitian yang digunakan adalah skala self-compassion, parenting stress dan skala dukungan sosial. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan metode purposive sampling dan menggunakan teknik analisis regresi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa self-compassion dan dukungan sosial memiliki pengaruh secara simultan terhadap parenting stress pada ibu yang bekerja. Dengan demikian, peneliti menyarankan kepada ibu yang bekerja agar dapat memiliki self-compassion dalam dirinya, serta memperkuat dukungan sosial agar mampu mengurangi kemungkinan parenting stress terjadi.

Abstract. Communication with parents is one of several factors related to adolescents’ life satisfaction. Parental work pressures that hinder parents from communicating with adolescents can be reduced through online communication. The purpose of this research was to examine the role of online parent-child communication in life satisfaction among adolescents with working parents. A total of 106 adolescents aged 10-15 years with working parents participated in this research. Parent-child online communication was measured using a modified version of Online Parent-Child Communication, while Life Satisfaction was measured using the Satisfaction with Life Scale Adapted for Children. The results showed parent-child online communication had a significant and positive effect on life satisfaction among adolescents with working parents. In addition, this research also found a significant and positive effect between parent-child online communication and life satisfaction of male and female adolescents with working parents. Therefore, parents should optimize online communication with their adolescents when they are working because online communication gives an impression of parental support, which contributes to increasing adolescents’ life satisfaction.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi kondisi stres mahasiswa melalui desain penelitian cross-sectional survey. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah 111 mahasiswa program studi sarjana. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan open-ended questionnaire, perceived stress scale-10, dan brief COPE questionnaire. Data kualitatif dianalisis dengan analisis tematik. Data kuantitatif dianalisa dengan One-Way ANOVA dan Multiple Regression. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa: 1) permasalahan kehidupan kampus, perasaan dan pikiran negatif, serta permasalahan relasi merupakan situasi sulit yang dihadapi oleh mahasiswa; 2) sebanyak 49,5% mahasiswa menunjukkan tingkat stres pada kategori rendah dan 50,5% mahasiswa menunjukkan tingkat stres pada kategori tinggi; 3) strategi koping dapat memprediksi stres secara signifikan; dan 4) strategi koping jenis positive reframing dan active coping dapat memprediksi penurunan stres, sedangkan strategi koping jenis self-blame dan self-distraction dapat memprediksi peningkatan stres. Intervensi psikologis yang berkaitan dengan strategi koping aktif dan berpikir positif diperlukan untuk membantu mahasiswa menghadapi permasalahan akademik, emosional, dan sosial.
