Abstract

This research is based on the lack of students critical mathematical thinking skills in solving surface area and side volume problems flat prisms and pyramids. This research aims to test whether there are differences significant application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with a STEM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) on critical thinking skills mathematics for junior high school students. This type of research is quantitative research with an experimental method of pretest-posttest control group design. The research population was class VIII students SMP Negeri 4 Tuban with a research sample of class VIII-B students (experimental class) and class VIII-F (control class) which was selected using a random sampling technique. Technique data collection is a test of critical thinking. From the results of data analysis using the t-test it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the application of the PBL model with STEM approach to critical thinking skills in mathematics in class VIII junior high school students Negeri 4 Tuban.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research was conducted to determine the increase in interest and learning outcomes in Physics for class Data collection methods use observation, tests and practicum methods. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. In cycle 1 to cycle 2, the percentage of students whose interest was sometimes in all indicators continued to decline, namely the indicator of attention (35.14% - 27.02% - 2.70%), the indicator of interest (24.32% - 21.6%, - 0%), happiness indicator (29.72% -24.3%,- 0%). Student learning outcomes also increased after the action was taken. The percentage of students who have not completed has decreased from the initial condition (72.97% - 51.3% - 13.51%) for knowledge scores, (51.35% - 32.43% - 10.81%) for skills scores, a decrease in the predicate moderately (70.27% - 48.65% -10.81%) for affective value. The percentage of students who have completed has increased from cycle 1 to cycle 2 (27.03% - 48.6% - 86.49%) for knowledge scores, (48.65% - 67.57% - 89.19%) for skill scores and an increase in good and very good scores (29.73% - 51.35% - 89.19%) for affective scores. Thus the hypothesis of this research is proven. Actions are said to be successful if at least students have an interest percentage greater than 80% for all indicators. And the average score of students at the end of the cycle, the percentage who obtained a score above the KKM had reached greater than 80% for all knowledge, skills and affective scores. So, this PTK was declared to have succeeded in increasing interest and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This article discusses the impact of spelling errors on adolescent self-image on social media platforms. The main issues involve the influence of speech errors upon the level of self-confidence, feelings of shame or inferiority, as well as the perception of others in the social media environment. Using qualitative methods, namely interviews and observations, the study aims to thoroughly investigate the impact of spelling errors on adolescent self-image. Others see it, which affects social interactions and relationships on social media. One of the real results of this article is increased attention to the correct use of language in social media and a better understanding of how it affects adolescent self-image. It is hoped that this article will be the basis for the development of educational and intervention programmes that raise adolescent awareness of the importance of using the right language in social media to build a positive self-image.

Abstract

The issue that drives this research is that a lot of parents underestimate their children's mental health in favor of their physical health, a problem that has existed for a long time. In response, scientists carried out studies meant to arm parents with information on how to preserve and comprehend their child's physical and emotional well-being. Researchers will organize research materials pertaining to early childhood experiences of insecurity, read and take notes, and gather library data through the literature study approach.

Abstract

This study aims to provide information about the perspectives of rational thinking, critical thinking and intelligence in learning which is a study of the book Innovations in Educational Psychology: Perspectives on Learning, Teaching, and Human Development by Robert J. Sternberg, PhD and David D. Preiss, PhD. . The method used in this research is library research. The data used in this study is secondary data in the form of research results such as books, scientific journals, research reports, and other relevant sources. The results showed that (1) critical thinking is an effort to evaluate the thinking process, the ability to evaluate evidence and arguments independently. (2) In critical thinking based on rationality. (3) in rational thinking there are requirements for cognitive capacity, reflective thinking and mindware. (4) in rational thinking there are instrumental rationale and epistemic rationale. (5) the characteristics of rational thinking include three things, namely reflective thinking, algorithmic thinking and autonomous thinking. (6) rationality is a more comprehensive construction than intelligence. Likewise, the construct of critical thinking is included in the construct of rationality.

Abstract

Flipped classroom learning has become an increasingly popular educational innovation, especially in the context of mathematics education. This article aims to systematically review the existing literature on the effectiveness of the flipped classroom model in improving mathematics concept understanding skills among students. Through this review, we identify the approaches, advantages, challenges and learning outcomes produced by the flipped classroom method. The results of the review indicate that flipped classroom learning has significant potential in improving mathematical concept understanding, although there are some challenges that need to be addressed in its implementation.

Abstract

In the era of globalization, the key role of the teaching profession is to shape the character of the next generation. This research highlights the importance of structuring the teaching profession to build strong and ethical character. Professional teachers must be responsive to global challenges to provide quality education. The implementation of character-driven teaching is reflected in their daily use of competencies, including in pedagogical, social, professional, and personal domains. The aim of this research is to discuss strategies for enhancing the professionalism and character of teachers. The method used is literature review with a qualitative approach. The primary strategy for building professional teachers with character in the era of globalization is through education. Education is not just about transferring knowledge, but also shaping attitudes, values, and positive behaviors in students. Teachers' teaching activities, from planning to evaluation, reflect professionalism in applying various competencies. Thus, this research emphasizes that efforts to build quality character in the era of globalization are not only about changing the learning paradigm but also represent a long-term investment for a sustainable and comprehensive future.

Abstract

The professional competence and work motivation possessed by teachers is something that plays an important role in their duties as teachers in schools. Teachers who have professional competence can be seen from the skills and knowledge they have in the field of teaching. Then the level of motivation can also increase the teacher's ability to carry out duties and responsibilities at school. With these conditions, it is hoped that it can improve teacher performance in teaching. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of teacher professional competence and work motivation on teacher performance. In this research, the type of research used is a meta-analysis study. Data collection was carried out through literature study or literature review by analyzing 10 previous journals. Based on the research results, it shows that teacher professional competence and work motivation have a positive and significant influence on improving teacher performance. From the research results it can also be seen that teachers with professional competence and high work motivation are able to carry out their duties well and create an effective learning environment at school. Therefore, teacher professional competence and work motivation are important factors that can help improve teacher performance in schools.

Abstract

To train students' creativity, in the elementary school education unit the independent curriculum still contains various subjects, especially Indonesian language lessons. In learning Indonesian, the facts in this lesson are that most students think that learning Indonesian is difficult. Sometimes children are only taught to make sentences and read. Sometimes teachers are also confused about choosing learning materials or media because it is difficult to get them, so teachers only focus on teaching their students to read and write sentences. In high grade elementary school children (IV, V and VI), confirmation of language theories, especially writing skills, is needed. To achieve the goals of Indonesian language education, especially essay writing skills for elementary school children, especially high school students, teachers need to pay attention to the relationship between environmental learning models and student creativity and the characteristics of the students' environment around the school. The natural environment learning model is a learning model that utilizes sources from the natural environment in teaching and learning activities, which is interesting because in the natural environment students are more involved in composing the surrounding environment. with concrete objects. Elementary school age children in high class is the time when children begin to think from the concrete to the abstract. Through guidance from the teacher, children are introduced and guided to work on an essay using a natural learning model. Thus, there is a very close relationship between the environmental learning model and student creativity in Indonesian language lessons, especially in composing material for high class elementary school students (classes IV, V, and VI), starting from the teacher selecting, determining, and determining the learning model. suitable for students, to achieve learning objectives.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is one form of teacher effort in meeting the needs of students during learning, especially in terms of learning readiness, student learning profiles, talents and interests of students. So that teachers who apply differentiated learning are expected to achieve the target of fulfilling an independent curriculum, namely giving freedom to students who have diverse abilities to develop their talents and interests to achieve the target of the Pancasila learner profile which is targeted in the independent curriculum. This research aims to achieve the curriculum target through differentiated learning based on learner diversity. This article uses the literature review research method. The results show that the purpose of differentiated learning applied by teachers is to classify learning by paying attention to students' readiness and interest in learning, goals to be achieved, motivation, learning outcomes and respect for diversity. The implementation of differentiated learning aims to create an active, interactive and participatory learning process. During the learning process by providing different treatments in the classroom, it provides opportunities for students to learn more effectively and efficiently by classifying each of the diverse needs of students. Such as ability to learn, interest in learning and motivation to learn so that teachers can determine the right method to achieve learning goals. In addition, teachers must increase learners' interest in learning both in quantity and quality to achieve effective learning targets.
