Abstract

Developing An Analogy Approach-Based Work Book in Calculus II Subject at Institut Agama Islam Negeri Sultan Thaha Saipudin (IAIN STS) Jambi. One of the problems encountered in teaching Calculus II subject at IAIN STS Jambi was the lecture had out ye accommodated the needs of the students t study actively. Analogy approach was assumed as one of the alternative approaches which could be applied in teaching and learning process that could help the students to get involved actively. Therefore, an analogy approach-based work book was developed. The aim of this research was to develop an analogy approach-based work book which was valid. This was a developmental research which used 4-D model that consisted of defining, designing, developing and disseminating. The work book which had been developed was validated by scientists in Calculus education and language. The practicality of the book was seen through observation and questionnaire. Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to determine the company's financial performance through the development of Return On Equity (ROE), Earning Per Share (EPS), Net Profit Margin (NPM) and how they affect the price of shares. Gudang Garam Tbk period 2004 to 2013.The method used is quantitative analysis method, which uses statistical formulas that are tailored to the title of the study and issues to be studied. The results showed that the development of Return On Equity (ROE), Earning Per Share (EPS), Net Profit Margin (NPM) PT. Gudang Garam Tbk during the period 2004 to 2013 is likely to fluctuate with an average growth of 4.4% ROE, EPS 16.0%, NPM of 6.3% and 46.7% share price.Results of subsequent research is ROE negatively affect the stock price with a coefficient of 7.304 influences. While EPS and NPM positive effect on the stock price with the influence coefficients respectively 1.380 and 6.310. Judging from the value of the coefficient of determination (R 2) R square of 0.772 or 77.2% variation in stock prices can be explained by the variation of the three independent variables while the rest is explained by other factors outside of the study.Keywords: Return on Equity, Earnings Per Share, Net Profit Margin, share price

Abstract

The lack of students ability in understanding reading texts show that the students are not able to understand reading comprension learning. This is why some efforts are made to increase the students learning process and by using CIRC Cooperative Model. This research is intended to identify the success of CIRC cooperative model application in increasing the quality of students learning process and outcome in reading comprehension of Class VIII students of SMP Purnama 3 Kota Jambi. This research is Classroom Action Research. The location of the research is SMP Purnama 3 Kota Jambi. The total number of the students is 23 students. This research consists of two cycles, in which every cycle uses planning, action, observation, and reflection. The instrument of the research is observation sheets, field note, questionnaire, and test. The technique of analyzing data is by using data reduction, data presenting, and conclusion. While the data of students learning quality is taken from mean formulae. The result of the research is that the application of CIRC cooperative model makes the process of learning becomes interesting, fun, and having contribution because the students show their active response in learning process. The students become autonomous, creative, and aware in thinking and solving problems in reading. In cycle I, the students are in enough criterion (71,5%) and in cycle II it is increasing to good criterion (82%). The mean score of cycle I is 71,25 which falls in enough criterion and the score in cycle II is increasing to 82 which falls to good criterion. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the application of CIRC cooperative model is useful in increasing the quality of learning process and learning outcome of students reading comprehension. The research suggests to those especially to the teacher of Indonesian language and art of Junior High School who happen to have the same problem can apply this model as a reference on the same research. In contrast, the classroom action research by using CIRC cooperative model need a further investigation by using innovative development.Keywords: CIRC Cooperative Model, Learning Quality, Reading Comprehension

Abstract

. Pembelajaran matematika pada mata kuliah Kalkulus Lanjut bersifat abstrak dan menekankan penguasaan konsep Karena itu perlu dikembangkan pembelajaran inovatif untuk meningkatkan aktivitas pembelajaran. Namun, proses pembelajaran matematika, hanya berfokus pada hasil belajar, tetapi tidak memperhatikan berpikir kreatifTujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui karakteristik produk pengembangan dan kelayakan rubrik keterampilan berfikir kreatif siswa dalam pemecahan masalah matematika pada mata kuliah Kalkulus Lanjut. Model pengembangan yang digunakan yaitu 4D yaitu define (pendefinisian), design (perancangan), develop (pengembangan), dan disseminate (penyebaran). Karena keterbatasan waktu maka penelitian hanya dilakukan sampai pada tahap develop (pengembangan).

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to gain a deep understanding of: 1) The structure of the custom of Seloko adat law as a form of traditional expression of jambi Malay society, and (2) the function of majas in custom seloko text texts on Melayu Jambi society. This research is qualitative descriptive by using method hermeneutic structural analysis. The data in this study are religious values in Seloko Adat, sourced from seloko lines in a collection of custom seloko text. Primary data sources were obtained from Jambi Customary Institution documents and secondary sources derived from related researches obtained from customary stakeholder books and information or those who knew about Seloko Adat on Jambi Community. The results of this study include: 1) In general, the religious values contained in the SAMJ majoric elements, reflected the use of the type of parable of majesty, metaphoric majesty, personification of majesty, hyperbole majesty, and repetitive masters. The expressions contained in the SAMJ are symbolic or indirect, and 2) In general the religious values of the aspects of understanding the symbols in the SAMJ Jambi text are reflected in religious symbols, custom symbols, and languages. The understanding of these symbols in the text of the Jambi Malay customs center illustrates the strong belief of the Malay Jambi people against the customary relationship with the Islamic religion, so that customary symbols refer to Islam. Understanding the symbols are related to aspects of belief, appreciation, knowledge and practice of Islamic teachings in the life of the Jambi Malay community.Keywords: Figure of Speech, Seloko Adat Law, Symbolic Expression, Religious Values.

Abstract

The contribution of subject teachers to the implementation of teacher guidance and counselingprogram and education providers in schools is a system, in which each component works together to achieve the instructional and curricular goals. The subject teacher is a co-worker of  the teacher guidance and counseling in carrying out his duties at school, because the subject teacher interacts mostly with the students in every students’ activities. Subject teachers have an important role in the implementation of guidance and counseling services. Various cases of learners, especially those related to learning problems, can be assisted  and handled by subject teachers.This research was conducted with the aim to see the level of contribution of subject teachers to the implementation of guidance and counseling program in SMA Negeri 1 Muaro Jambi. The research population was the level of contribution of subject teachers to the implementation of guidance and counseling program. In addition, the respondent population was26 subject teachers who teach in XI IPAclass. The questionnaire contained a list of questions that referred to the criteria of guidance and counseling services that were used as data collection. The results reveal that the level of contribution of subject teachers to the implementation of guidance and counseling program in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Muaro Jambi is good that is 80.01%. Keywords: Subject Teachers, Guidance, Counseling

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the cultural element and the characters in the novel “Gajah Mada Sampah di Manguntur” written by Langit Kresna Hariadi. The method of the research is analytic descriptive in which the process of analyzing and describing the main object of the research. Based on the analysis of the research, it can be concluded that the novel “Gajah Mada Sumpah di Manguntur” comprises cultural element, especially Javanese culture in Majapahit Kingdom era. This matters can be seen from the structure of the event on the novel. The element of reliance towards many things such as believe in the power of dream and believe in the power of magic are found in some sequences of the story. Furthemore, the other element of culture also can be seen from this novel, such as information technology as an interesting fact in which the bird in Majapahit era is used as a tool to deliver information. Moreover, another element of culture that is shown in this novel is the domination of element of language. The characters appear in the novel are devided into 5 (five) characters which are identified as strong characters, such as the character of Gajah Mada. While being a care person, he also protects his country and the people who are needed protection. Besides, he also can work on a team in solving tasks. Moreover, the character of Gajah Enggon is also identified as a strong character in the novel. He is a mainstay who has a unique and deft character. Then, there is a Pradhabasu character who also has a uniue character. Beside his good and nice character, his ability in olah kanuragan (spiritual ability) is an interesting thing in this novel. The next character is Prabu Putri Dyah Wiyat who has an honest character which can be seen from her utterances in saying things with honesty in which she said that she ever involved in forbidden relationship. Abstract

This research aims to: (1) Describe the ability to write news text students are taught using STAD type cooperative learning model and students are taught using direct learning model; (2) Describe the ability to write high-priority student-language text texts that are taught using STAD-type cooperative models and are taught using direct learning models; (3) Describe the ability to write low-priority student-language text texts that are taught using STAD-type cooperative models and are taught using direct learning models, and (4) Describe the interaction of cooperative learning model type STAD and initial ability to the ability to write news text of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 24 Jambi. The type of this research is quantitative with 2x2 factorial experimental designs. The population of the research is the students of class VIII SMP Negeri 24 consisting of 6 classes. The sample of this research is class VIIIA for experiment class with 40 students and class VIIIB for control class with 38 students. Sample determination is determined by purposive sampling technique. The data of students' news text writing capability was obtained using performance test and analyzed using two ways Anova test. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that STAD type cooperative learning model affects the ability to write student news text. The effect can be explained as follows. First, the ability to write news texts of students taught using STAD type cooperative learning model is better than students taught using direct learning model. Second, the ability to write high-priority students' text news taught using STAD type cooperative models is better than students taught using direct learning models. Third, the ability to write low-priority students' text taught using STAD type cooperative models is better than students being taught using direct learning models. Fourth, there is no interaction between STAD type cooperative learning model and initial ability to write news text skills of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 24 Jambi.Keywords: Writing News Texts, Cooperative Learning, Direct Learning

Abstract

Abstract: Education is an attempt to develop ability, to establish personality, and to build dignified civilization in order to educate the certain nation. Furthermore, education is a media that is supposed to educate generations. Education is presented to build whole personality, cultured and civilized, whether through formal or informal education. Education as a system is human work in a form of component which has a functional relationship in developing transformational process or changes in person’s behavior in order to gain particular quality. Education is also a preventive alternative in building better generation.            In orde to achieve these education goals, education institution is needed as an organizer of formal, informal, and non formal education. Those three organization has been a part of Indonesian history in education system. Like what Ki Hajar Dewantara stated that education in Indonesian has been occurred in Indonesia before colonization era until national movement in a form of course in written and oral general knowledge, discussion group, politics course, and public school that has been into a program that appears in whole modern organization in that era.Keyword : Education, Formal Education, Informal Education and Non-Formal Education

Abstract

The reception of literature has become an integral part of the purpose of the study of literature and literary reception are integrated into the definition of literature (literariness). Lately, various research literature incorporate literary reception in an effort to determine literariness. The literary output consists of text (for intra-textual relations system) in relation to extra-textual reality: with the norms of the literary, tradition and imagination. Reception theory is concerned reader responses that emerged after the reader interpret and judge a literary work. Literary reception arise due to stagnation intrinsic analysis for nearly half a century since the beginning of the 20th century. Literary reception can be done with concretization, distinguish between functions and functions realized. The first function is aimed to find the real author's intention. While the second function is the reader's reaction to literature. Two figures most instrumental in the development of the theory of literary reception is Robert Jauss and Wolfgang Iser.
