Abstract

The purpose of the study is to examine the instrument content validity and it’s construct validity of the mathematics self-efficacy scale based on valid dimensions. This research is part of the research on the effect of the number of scale categories on the accuracy of the prediction validity of the mathematics self-efficacy scale. The research instrument is a Likert scale questionnaire with five answer categories. Analysis of content validity using coefficient V by Aiken while construct validity uses the Confirmatory Factor Analysis method with the help of the LISREL 8.72 program. The results showed that (1) 28 of 40 items of the instrument content validity is valid in three dimensions : level, strength, and generality. (2) While 22 items out of 28 items of the instrument construct validity is proven valid as well. In conclusion, the mathematics self-efficacy scale instrument has been empirically tested valid  for its content and construct validity.

Abstract

The evaluation instrument or evaluation tool is a tool that meets academic requirements, so that it can be used as a measuring tool or data collection about a variable. Based on the results of the analysis of the need for evaluation instruments used by educators in learning, the teacher still uses paper and google forms for evaluation. This research aims to develop a Wordwall-based evaluation instrument and to determine student responses to wordwall-based evaluation instruments. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D). The development model used is the Borg and Gall model adapted by Sugiyono with 8 stages consisting of needs analysis, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, small-scale testing, product revision and user testing. The results of the development of a wordwall-based evaluation instrument for class VII junior high school science subjects obtained values from the validation of material, media and language experts of 80%, 98.5% and 96.65% with very feasible categories. Whereas for the results of the trial use, the average result of the student's questionnaire response was 87.9% with the very interesting instrument category.

Abstract

Problem-solving in math is still a problem today. Studies show that students still make mistakes in answering math problems. Errors in answering the questions indicate that there is fragmentation in the thinking structure of students. This article uses a systematic review method. Researchers selected articles according to the criteria and found 9 articles with a total of 25 research subjects. Data collection was carried out in two main stages, namely the search and selection stages. The results show that students experience many obstacles at the stage of re-checking the integrity of the completion steps because of the habit of students who skip the re-examination and are sure that the answer is correct. A common type of error in the construction of a mathematical concept is a construction hole. Construction holes can be overcome by the emergence of schemes to complement the imperfections of students' thinking structures in solving mathematical problems. The type of defragmentation that is most often given is scaffolding. Scaffolding is considered the most effective for all types of mistakes made because it can be done and later reduced so that students can solve math problems independently.

Abstract

Knowledge transfer is not easy especially for mathematics. Various factors need to be considered and think about how to transfer the knowledge effectively. The traditional teaching method does not help students to achieve deep learning and to solve this problem, there is a need to new learning method. The 6-questions cognitive model is a new learning model that is developed in China in 2012. This model can stand on its own or be combined with technology-based learning media. This research aims to introduce the 6-questions cognitive model by using a qualitative method. Researchers did literature research to know the deeper meaning of the 6-questions cognitive model. The result of this research shows that the cognitive model can help students to achieve deep learning and it can also be combined with a technology-based learning media. Teachers can use this research result to teach mathematics in school. Future research can find out about the effect of 6-questions cognitive model on the students' high order thinking skill.

Abstract

Learning media plays an essential role in conveying material to students. Learning media can be divided into media that Teacher directly use in learning and media made by Teacher that later adapted to the abilities and needs of students. Engineering mechanics is one of the primary subjects that civil engineering students must master at. The engineering mechanics course discusses the analysis of the balance of a structure. Students can use mobile application-based teaching materials as online learning media amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Engineering mechanics book, we called EMB, can be used by students to study independently at home during learning online but still in the monitoring/monitoring of Teacher (lecturers). The research and development use ADDIE design. The stage includes 1) Analysis, 2) Design, 3) Develop, 4) Implementation, and 5) Evaluation. EMB product had been tested the validity and implementation during the learning process. EMB got 3.32 valid results for the product. EMB can also train students in digital literacy. Students' digital literacy is in the quite proficient category. This condition is not regardless of the influence of student habits in using technology which is more often used for online communication and entertainment. The frequency of using digital technology for entertainment purposes is higher compared to use for academic purposes.
