Abstract

Abstract: This study explores the application of a circular economy in waste management policies in Indonesia from both theoretical and practical perspectives, utilizing a penta helix approach. Unlike linear economies that lead to unmanaged waste, a circular economy focuses on reusing, recycling, and reducing waste to achieve economic and environmental sustainability. The penta helix model, involving academia, businesses, communities, government, and media, plays a crucial role in enhancing public awareness and participation in sustainable waste programs. A qualitative case study approach was used to evaluate the effectiveness of current policies, identifying infrastructural challenges, public awareness gaps, and cross-sector collaboration opportunities. Findings suggest the need for improved recycling infrastructure, fiscal incentives for businesses, and intensive public awareness campaigns. The study concludes that the penta helix collaboration can accelerate Indonesia’s transition toward a more sustainable and environmentally friendly circular economy, with recommendations for enhanced cross-sector cooperation to support this shift. Keywords: Circular economy, waste management, penta helix, Indonesia, sustainability

The research used is normative juridical research, where this research uses various approaches whose data sources use primary, secondary and tertiary legal material research, because this research was conducted at the Sorong Regency Regional Library, by collecting data to be used in this research in the form of a legislative approach and literature study. The analysis used in this study is a qualitative analysis approach which is carried out by tracing the legal materials that have been processed, such as laws and regulations and literature reviews which are then written descriptively and obtaining results by making conclusions that will be used in this study. The results of the study obtained by the author, in the form of Legal Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers from modern slavery which is an effort by the government to provide proper protection for every citizen. By guaranteeing safety, security and welfare. So that there needs to be legal protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers so that they are free from discrimination and modern slavery. Cases that are often experienced by Indonesian Migrant Workers are cases of discrimination or modern slavery because Indonesian Migrant Workers are considered weak people who have no power whatsoever while under the auspices of their employers. Therefore, many Indonesian migrant workers are made into modern slaves who are forced to work or forced labor, their basic rights are not respected, they are made into sex slaves, traded (human trafficking), job opportunity fraud (illegal Indonesian migrant workers), weak law enforcement, lack of education and so on. These factors have resulted in modern slavery and have violated the provisions of government regulations and several articles in Law Number 39 of 1999 concerning Human Rights, which explains that human rights must be respected, honored, protected and upheld because they are a gift from God Almighty which is inherent and cannot be separated by anyone. Keywords: Indonesian migrant workers, Protection, From Slavery, Review of Law No. 39 of 1999.

The type of research is quantitative research with a cross sectional design. The research was conducted in May 2023 at Pulomerak Health Center. The sample amounted to 163 people. The sampling technique used probability sampling with simple random sampling technique. The research instrument used a research questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate. The results showed that there was a relationship between individual characteristics, namely age (p value: 0.009) and comorbidities (p value: 0.000) on the quality of life of patients with diabetes mellitus. Abstract

Abstract

Palembang City is the capital city of South Sumatra Province with a population of 1,718,440 people in 2024. The Kambang Iwak area is one of the recreational areas in Palembang City which is located in the city center. With a relatively large population in Palembang City, an adequate recreation area is needed so that there is no accumulation of people in an existing recreation area. The accumulation of people causes a buildup of vehicles which can disrupt traffic flow. The survey was conducted at the Talang Semut Intersection which connects 4 roads, namely Jalan A Rivai, Jalan Ki Ranggo Wirosantiko, Jalan KH Ahmad Dahlan and Jalan Jaksa Agung R Soerapto. The survey was conducted for 7 days starting at 06.00 - 18.00 WIB which was carried out in the Kambang Iwak Area, namely at the Talang Semut Intersection. It can be seen that the highest traffic volume at the intersection occurs on Sunday mornings. After the survey was conducted, the data obtained was analyzed with reference to the 2023 Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI). Based on the results of the analysis, the level of service at the Talang Semut Intersection was E.Keywords: PKJI 2023, Traffic Volume, and Intersection Performance

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of law in promoting sustainable development in Indonesia. The main principles of sustainable development include: Intergenerational Justice: Ensuring that development activities carried out today do not damage or deplete natural resources so that future generations still have sufficient access to meet their needs. The role of law in supporting sustainable development is critical as it serves as a regulatory framework that helps ensure that development activities not only meet current needs but also consider long-term environmental, economic and social impacts. Without strong enforcement, there is a risk of violations that can damage the environment and hinder the achievement of sustainable development goals. Enforcement includes monitoring, sanctioning and mechanisms to ensure compliance. Keywords: Role of Law, Sustainable development, Law enforcement
