Abstract

Abstract: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in 2023, the global LBW rate will be about 15.5% or equivalent to 20 million babies born each year, about 96.5% of LBW occurs in developing countries, which is a health problem and very influential in the long term. There are several factors that can cause LBW, including lack of nutrition during pregnancy and anemia. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) and anemia on the incidence of LBW in RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province. The design of this study is correlation with retrospective approach. The population in this study amounted to 145 respondents data obtained from the medical records of Arifin Achmad Hospital Riau Province using total sampling method. Data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of respondent characteristics (age, parity, gestational age, HB level, mother's age, education). Data analysis in this study used chi-square test with Pearson chi-square rule. The results of the study showed a relationship between anemia and chronic energy deficiency (CED) to the incidence of LBW in RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province with statistical test results p-value = 0.000 in each variable. The researcher's proposal to Arifin Achmad Hospital Riau Province is expected to know the factors that cause anemia and CED on the incidence of LBW.Keywords: Anemia, Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED), LBW

Abstract

Abstract: This research analyzes the effectiveness of the restorative justice approach in resolving cases of children in conflict with the law in Bandung City following the enactment of Law Number 11 of 2012 on the Juvenile Criminal Justice System. Using normative legal methods with statutory, conceptual, and case approaches, the research reveals a significant increase in the application of diversion mechanisms from 65% in 2019 to 72% in 2020, and its effectiveness in preventing  stigmatization, protecting children's rights, and facilitating social reintegration with a  reintegration success rate of 85%. Nevertheless, the implementation of restorative justice still  faces challenges including limitations in comprehensive post-diversion rehabilitation programs, high rotation of trained personnel, disparities in understanding among law enforcement officials, inadequate child placement institutions according to standards, and the persistent retributive paradigm in society. The research recommends regulatory revisions for flexibility in diversion criteria, strengthening institutional capacity and coordination, developing comprehensive  rehabilitation programs, and educating the public to shift from retributive to restorative  paradigms. Keywords: restorative justice, diversion, juvenile criminal justice system, best interest of the child, social reintegration

Abstract

Low Birth Weight (LBW) is a baby born with a weight of less than 2500 grams. Based on WHO 2018 data, the prevalence of BBLR is 15.5% of all births in the world, of which 96.5% occurs in developing countries. The prevalence of LBW at the Ophir Health Center in 2021 was 3.1%, increased in 2022 to 4.1%, and 4.6% in 2023. The purpose of this study is to determine the Factors Associated with the Incidence of LBW in Mothers Who Have Babies Aged 0-12 Months in the Working Area of the Ophir West Pasaman Health Center in 2024. This type of research is cross sectional, the research was conducted in February-August with a population of 425 people and a sample of 58 people. Primary and secondary data collection by researchers with editing, coding, entry, processing, cleaning processing techniques and using univariate and bivariate analysis with chi square test. The results of this study showed that most mothers who had children aged 0-12 months in the working area of the West Pasaman Ophir Health Center gave birth with low birth weight. It was found that most mothers consumed carbohydrates, proteins, fats, which were lacking and nutritional status was poor with a p value of 0.000. Most mothers consume iron and are less knowledgeable with a p value of 0.001, which means that there is a meaningful relationship between carbohydrate, protein, fat, iron, nutritional status, and maternal knowledge consumption and the incidence of LBW. It is hoped that the community, especially pregnant mothers, will pay more attention to their pregnancy conditions and meet the needs of macronutrient and micronutrient intake and pay more attention to nutritional status so that the mother and fetus are healthy and the nutritional needs of the mother and fetus are met. Keywords: BBLR, Corbohydrates, Proteins, Fats, Iron, Nutritional status, Knowledge.

Abstract

In building planning, it is necessary to consider the potential for earthquake and liquefaction disasters in the area. Earthquake and liquefaction events can cause failure of the upper and lower structures of the building due to the soil losing/decreasing its bearing capacity. This study takes a case study of foundation planning in the construction of Block A Jaya Pasar Raya Padang Building, where the initial planning type of foundation used was a vertical dowel concrete rib net foundation (JEB). In this study, the foundation was replaced with precast piles. The study was to determine the bearing capacity and settlement of single and group pile foundations and calculate the potential for liquefaction disasters when an earthquake occurs. The methods used were the Meyerhoff method (1976) to obtain the bearing capacity of pile foundations, the Vesic method (1969) for the amount of settlement, and the Seed and Idriss method (1971) for the liquefaction potential. The study results showed that the soil did not have the potential for liquefaction up to a depth of 39 meters. The settlement amount in the pile group foundation is 9.00 mm <10 mm from the settlement permit based on SNI 8460-2017 Geotechnics (9.2.5.3), and the bearing capacity for the pile group is 2453.15 tons. It can be concluded that the Block A Jaya Pasar Raya Padang Building uses a pile foundation at a depth of 39 m, and the soil does not have the liquefaction potential or is safe. Keywords: pile foundation, liquefaction, bearing capacity
