Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the entry into force (EIF) clause under the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Type Approval for Automotive Products (APMRA). Although Article 20 stipulates that APMRA shall enter into force one year after the submission of instruments of ratification, its implementation has not progressed as expected. The analysis focuses on the underlying causes of this delay, particularly the interpretation of the two EIF requirements. It assesses whether these conditions should be construed as alternative or cumulative, and how misinterpretation may contribute to the hindered enforcement of APMRA at the ASEAN level. Keywords: APMRA, Entry into Force, ASEAN

Abstract

Hypertension is an increase in blood pressure exceeding 140/90 mmHg with at least two measurements at different times. Uncontrolled hypertension can cause serious complications such as stroke, kidney failure, heart failure, metabolic syndrome, and even death. One non-pharmacological effort to control blood pressure is back massage relaxation therapy which aims to relax blood vessels and reduce muscle tension. This study aims to determine the results of nursing care for Mrs. R by applying back massage relaxation therapy to reduce neck pain in hypertension patients in the work area of Sungai Langkai Community Health Center, Batam City. The research method used a case study approach with back massage interventions carried out regularly throughout the study. The results showed a decrease in blood pressure and reduced neck pain after therapy. Back massage works through mechanoreceptor stimulation that triggers the body's relaxation response, increases blood circulation, and stimulates the release of endorphins that play a role in reducing blood pressure and pain. Thus, back massage relaxation therapy is effective as a non-pharmacological nursing intervention to help reduce blood pressure in hypertension patients. Keywords: Hypertension, Relaxation, Back Massage, Neck Pain

Abstract

Anemia in pregnancy is a national health problem that seriously impacts both the mother and the fetus. Based on the incidence of anemia in pregnancy in Alam Panjang Village, Kampar Regency, data from the Iliran Community Health Center showed that 20 pregnant women with Hb <11 g% were recorded in 2022, 22 in 2023, and 25 in 2024. One way to overcome anemia is by consuming red dragon fruit, which is high in iron. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) on increasing Hb levels in third trimester pregnant women in Alam Panjang Village, Kampar Regency. This study was quantitative with a quasi-experimental design using a One Group Pre-test and Post-test Design. The study was conducted in January 2025. The study population consisted of 16 pregnant women. The sampling technique was total sampling. The research instrument used an observation sheet. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate methods. The results showed that the average Hb level before the intervention was 9.29 g/dL, with the majority being in the mild anemia category (93.8%). After the intervention, the average Hb level increased to 10.88 g/dL. Bivariate analysis showed that 10 respondents experienced an increase in Hb levels, while 6 respondents experienced no change. The Wilcoxon test showed a p- value of 0.005 (α=0.05), indicating a significant effect of red dragon fruit supplementation on increasing hemoglobin levels in pregnant women in the third trimester. It is hoped that the results of this study can serve as a reference for health workers in providing nutrition education and natural interventions to prevent and treat anemia in pregnant women. Keywords         : Anemia, Hb Levels, Red Dragon Fruit

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by increased glucose levels in the blood. Physical activity is one of the factors that can help control fasting blood glucose levels. This study aims to find out the description of fasting blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus based on physical activity. This study uses a quantitative descriptive design with a cross sectional approach. The results showed that 15 respondents (38.5%) had controlled fasting blood glucose levels (≤126 mg/dL), while 24 respondents (61.5%) had controlled blood glucose levels (>126 mg/dL). The average fasting blood glucose level of all respondents was 173 mg/dL. Based on physical activity levels, 11 respondents (28.2%) had moderate physical activity (600-3000 METs) and 28 respondents (71.8%) had high physical activity (>3000 METs). The conclusion of this study is that the majority of respondents have high physical activity, but blood glucose levels remain largely uncontrolled. This shows that physical activity alone is not enough to control blood glucose levels without thorough management such as diet, medical therapy, and other healthy lifestyles. Keywords: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Fasting Blood Glucose, Physical Activity

Abstract

Visits of toddlers to integrated health posts (Posyandu) are a vital effort to monitor child growth and development. However, the frequency of these visits remains suboptimal in several areas, including Posyandu Anyelir in Pantai Cermin Village, Kampar Regency. This study aimed to determine the influence of knowledge, attitude, support from health workers, the role of health cadres, and family support on toddler visits to Posyandu. A quantitative method with a cross-sectional design was applied, involving 92 mothers of toddlers as respondents. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that all variables had a significant relationship with the activeness of Posyandu visits: knowledge (p=0.000; OR=4.590–96.073), attitude (p=0.003; OR=1.565–10.222), support from health workers (p=0.001; OR=1.923–12.124), the role of cadres (p=0.000; OR=4.755–37.559), and family support (p=0.001; OR=1.923–12.124). It can be concluded that all these factors significantly influence the activeness of toddler visits to Posyandu. Educational interventions, strengthening the roles of cadres and health workers, and involving the family are essential strategies to increase community participation in Posyandu activities. Kata Kunci : Toddler visits, Posyandu, knowledge, attitude, family support

Abstract

Abstract: Nurses are one of the key components in hospital health services. Work fatigue that is not adequately addressed can cause various serious problems in the work environment, including an increased risk of workplace accidents. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors associated with fatigue in nurses. The research design used in this study is cross-sectional. The study was conducted at Sundari General Hospital. The study was conducted in February 2025. The study population consisted of all nurses at Sundari General Hospital. The sample consisted of 65 people. The sampling technique used total sampling. The research instrument used a research questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate analysis. The results showed a relationship between length of service (p value: 0.047) and workload (p value: 0.00) with work fatigue among nurses. It is recommended that hospital management recruit additional nurses to compensate for the number of patient visits. Providing occupational safety and health (OSH) education on work fatigue management for nurses and ensuring adequate nutritional intake are also necessary as preventive measures against more serious work-related illnesses. Keywords: Workload, Work Fatigue, Nurses.

Abstract

Poor infant sleep quality can impact growth and development. A preliminary survey of 10 mothers at the Pantai Cermin Community Health Center Work Area revealed that all mothers reported that their babies frequently woke up at night and slept less than 8 hours, resulting in fussiness the next day. One effective method to address this problem is Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC). This study aimed to determine the effect of Kangaroo Mother Care on infant sleep quality in the Pantai Cermin Community Health Center Work Area, Kampar Regency. This study used a quantitative quasi-experimental approach with a pre-test and post-test. The population was 155 infants, with a sample size of 28 respondents. Sampling was conducted using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was the Brief Screening Questionnaire for Infant Sleep Problems (BISQ). Data were analyzed using the McNemar test. The study found that before the Kangaroo Mother Care method was implemented, 60.7% of babies experienced poor sleep quality. After the Kangaroo Mother Care method was implemented, 75% of babies experienced good sleep quality. There was an effect of Kangaroo Mother Care on infant sleep quality (P=0.002). It is recommended that community health centers (Puskesmas) provide Kangaroo Mother Care education to mothers with infants with sleep problems. KMC can be promoted as a simple, affordable, and effective infant care method to improve infant sleep quality. Keywords        :           Kangaroo Mother Care, Infant Sleep Quality
