Abstract

This article attempts to explore various problems faced by people with disabilities in the pandemic era. Da'wah is more than just Amar Ma'ruf Nahi Munkar (perform good and keep away from bad). The study of da'wah is not just about conveying Islamic treatizes but keeping up with the times. Dilemmas that arise in the community must find immediate solutions, especially those related to basic needs. The methods and models of da'wah must adapt to the current da'wah models. The appropriate da'wah model for groups with disabilities in the new normal is the da'wah bil maal method (a missionary endeavour using wealth, such as giving money to the poor). This study adopts a qualitative method and draws samples from five informants. The informants are from the disability group, especially those who are married. The data was collected using in-depth interviews. This study aims to increase awareness of the importance of mutual respect and mutual assistance among people.

Abstract

The human nervous system consists of two parts, namely the spine and the brain. The brain itself consists of the brain stem and cerebral cortex, consisting of the right and left hemispheres. Each hemisphere is divided into four lobes: the frontal lobe, occipital lobe, temporal lobe, and parietal lobe, where each lobe has its function—the brain experiences both growth regarding its parts and mass or weight. The left and right hemispheres have their respective roles or functions, leading to a tendency to use hemispheres. The left hemisphere is more dominantly responsible for language, logical and analytical matters. At the same time, the right hemisphere is more intuitive and imaginative. Concerning producing speech, the brain has a part called the Broca region. Then there is the Wernicke area which is responsible for speech comprehension. These two regions will work together for language processing in the brain. Besides, there is a system related to the workings of emotions in humans called the limbic system in the brain.

Abstract

Islamic journalism has been intensely discussed among Islamic Universities in Indonesia. This study at least can be identified into three models. First, is the study of Islamic journalism as an activity that informs issues, events and phenomena related to Islamic values. Second, is the study of Islamic journalism as an Islamic way and method of journalistic activities. Third, the study of journalism as Islamic principles is the basis for journalistic activities. This study aims to complement the previous studies that gave few concerns to a comprehensive understanding of Islamic journalism, particularly the different concept with journalism studies. This study relies on primary and secondary data using a qualitative descriptive approach. Primary data was taken from Focus Group Discussion (FGD) by inviting 6 heads of the Islamic Journalism Study Program of Islamic Universities, lecturers, practitioners of journalistic and media, alumni, and communication students. At the same time, the secondary data was taken from the academic curriculum of several journalistic programs across the archipelago, namely UIN Walisongo Semarang, UNPAD Bandung, UGM Yogyakarta, UNDIP Semarang, UNAIR Surabaya, UI Jakarta, and other online sources. This study found that each university has uniqueness in formulating its curriculum, especially in integrating the concepts of Journalism and Islam.

This article discusses the political communication strategy of a party, especially the National Democratic Party (NasDem) in Central Java in the 2019 Legislative Election. This study uses the Elaboration Likelihood ModelTheory from Petty and Cacciopo, when the persuasion of messages in the campaign can be accepted by the public so that they can win the 2019 Legislative Election contestation. This study uses a postpositivism paradigm, with qualitative descriptive research methods and triangulation of data sources, while this research focuses on the candidates for members of the NasDem Party. They are now legislative members in the DPRD of Central Java Province. The results of this study indicate that the Political Communication Tactics used by the Central Java NasDem Party in winning the 2019 Election Contestation was communicating with a traditional approach by personally meeting the cloud community, organizations community, community leaders, Islamic figures (Kiai), former officials, RT and RW. Those ways were carried out by the model of house visit, 'nguwongke uwong',. This study indicates that three legislative candidates who are currently sitting in the DPRD of Central Java have been elected.

Abstract

This paper attempts to analyze the bourgeois religious lifestyle of celebrities' hijrah from the perspective of globalization by focusing on how imperialism influences this lifestyle and why it is in line with the global economy. The theory used is the globalization theory of Gill Branston and Roy Stafford. The qualitative research approach is based on online and printed literature from books, websites, journals, and relevant research results. After the data is collected, the data analysis uses the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data display, interpretation, and conclusion. This study concludes that a bourgeois religious lifestyle is a form of Islamic identity for hijrah celebrities. The lifestyle displayed is bourgeois but does not leave Islam a symbol of Piety. The interpretation of the hijrah celebrity towards globalization is to construct it as a religious bourgeois identity. Cultural imperialism is a factor in forming the religious bourgeois lifestyle of celebrities who migrate in the identity displayed in the public space outside the network and in the public space in the network. The bourgeois religious lifestyle of hijrah celebrities can be in line with the interests of the global economy because they both need and complement each other.

Abstract

This research examines the dynamics of opinion leadership in political decision-making within the coastal community of Lembar Selatan Village, Indonesia. The study specifically investigates the characteristics of opinion leaders, their communication patterns, and their influence on community political choices. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and participant observations involving key community leaders and residents. The findings reveal that opinion leadership is primarily concentrated in formal and informal community figures, notably a former Village Head who also served as a member of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD). These leaders employ interpersonal communication strategies to disseminate political information and shape public opinion regarding candidates and policies. The study demonstrates that opinion leaders serve as crucial intermediaries in political communication, functioning as both motivators and guides in the community's political decision-making process. This research contributes to understanding the role of traditional leadership structures in local political communication within coastal communities of developing regions.

Abstract

There has been an increase in cases of sexual violence against children in the Ponorogo Regency, some of which have been made public through social media. Due to the courage of both those who commit sexual violence and the victims, this issue makes for an exciting area of research using the interaction theory, the social factor theory, and the coping theory. This study aimed to analyze the interactions of social factors and parents' coping models of the victims and perpetrators of sexual violence. It employed a qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings revealed that all victims and perpetrators of sexual violence have an honest relationship with their parents. As a result, this act of sexual violence occurs due to factors in the victim's personality being close to their parents. The social factors of victims, parents, and perpetrators related to education are diverse. This crime occurs at all levels of education because, as Muzaham argues, family education is an essential element of character development that has not been implemented. The fact that all victims and perpetrators are from Java indicates a cultural shift in Javanese society due to social changes. While the concept of family is good, it falls short in building character. Focused coping is the primary mode of coping in the model. Some parents use emotional coping in the beginning, but they eventually switch to a more focused approach
