Abstract

This study has the aim to increase the interest and learning outcomes of third grade elementary school students towards mathematics, especially on flat-build material. The aim to be achieved from this development effort is to produce a valid, practical and effective LKS. The development of cartoon drawings worksheets in this study uses the Instructional Development Institute (IDI) procedural model that applies the principles of a system approach, namely define or analyze needs, develop and evaluate. LKS validation is carried out by experts in mathematics education and Indonesian language education. The results of the study showed that the cartoon worksheet on the flat-building material was valid in terms of content and construct. Keywords:  LKS, Cartoon Drawings, Flat Build, Validity

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian dan pengembangan ini adalah untuk menghasilkan model pembelajaran teknik dasar passing bola voli dengan pendekatan bermain untuk pendidikan jasmani dengan kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan Research and Development ( R&D) dari Borg dan Ball. Lokasi penelitian di SLTP Kabupaten Dharmasraya Sumatera Barat. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian pengembangan ini adalah angket, serta instrumen psikomotorik teknik dasar passing bawah dan passing atas. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan lembar validasi, angket praktikalitas dan intrumen efektifitas. Berdasarkan tabel nilai hasil belajar didapat siswa yang memperoleh nilai ≥ 80 (sangat baik) adalah 12 orang dan nilai 60-79 (baik) adalah 26 orang, dan seluruhnya dinyatakan LULUS. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa materi bola voli telah berhasil dikuasai oleh siswa. Dari hasil ujicoba kelompok kecil (small group try out) dan ujicoba kelompok besar (field group try out) dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran passing bawah dan passing atas melalui pendekatan bermain valid, praktis, dan efektif diberikan kepada siswa kelas VII SLTP.

Abstract

This research aimed to find the correlation among students’ motivation, vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of the students four semester at Universitas Dharmas Indonesia in academic year 2017-2018. Motivation is the key factor in learning any language, especially in reading. Learning motivation influences the student’s interest and learning result. A person who has high motivation in reading will also has high interest in reading. It is based on the belief that the success and effectiveness of the teacher rest upon producing learner who are proficient and smart readers. Hence, the researcher is greatly challenged to conduct this research. The Correlative method was used in this research. It was used to find out the relationship of students’ motivation, vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension. A questionnaire and tests were used in collecting the data. They consisted of the students’ motivation questionnaire, reading test and vocabulary test. The statistical tools used in analyzing the data in this study were Descriptive Statistics and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation. The findings of the research were the students’ level in reading comprehension of the students’ four semester at Universitas Dharmas Indonesia was very good. The students’ level in vocabulary was poor. The students need to improve their vocabulary in order to comprehend the text. Moreover, the students four semester at Universitas Dharmas Indonesia were motivated in reading comprehension. There was a significant correlation among reading comprehension, vocabulary mastery and students’ motivation. In improving the students’ reading comprehension, the teacher should teach vocabulary to their students since vocabulary has strong relationship with reading comprehension. Having a good vocabulary makes the students understand the text easily. Vocabulary mastery is more important in helping the students to comprehend the text. Besides, motivation is also a key factor in reading comprehension. Motivation correlates significantly with the reading achievement. The students who are highly motivated will get better achievement in reading than those who are low or less motivated.   Keywords: students’ motivation,vocabulary mastery, reading comprehension.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on a problem related to the poor ability of the students in writing an argumentative essay at the English Department of IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang. The aim of this research is to find out the students’ ability in writing paragraph development of argumentative essay. This research was a descriptive research. The instrument of this research was using writing task. The population of the research was the third year students at the English Department of IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang which consist of three parallel classes. By using cluster random sampling, the researcher took one class as the sample of this research.From the research findings, it was found that the students’ ability in writing argumentative essay was low. The most mistakes made by the students were in using evidences and in writing sentence precision. It can be concluded that the students still got difficulty in writing a good sentence based on grammatical rules. They also did not know how to write a good concluding paragraph of an argumentative essay.

Abstract

This thesis has an aim to develop The Pascal Programmed validity, practicality, and affectivity for students at Mathematic Department of STKIP PGRI WEST SUMATERA. The method that is used in this research is developmental research approach. There are three steps, such as: front – end analysis, prototype, and assessment steps.           In the front – end research, the activity is done through analyzed the material that is coursed, the Pascal programmed text books, interviewed the colleagues; they are lecturers who teach the related subjects, and learn student’s characteristics. Based on the result of front – end analysis, I have been gotten the Pascal programmed of prototype front – end module, and then it is consulted with the scientists. Then the prototype is validated by seven scientists, they are; three construction scientists from State University of Padang and STMIK Indonesia, and four content scientists from State University of Padang and STKIP PGRI West Sumatera.            The practicality in this activity was tried to the mathematic educated department students of STKIP PGRI West Sumatra at second semester, and monitored by two monitoring lecturers. It is done as same as practicality step. It is monitored through; the college student’s activity, motivation, and result of the study. The result of the study is showed; 1) the Pascal programmed module was used which had valid (content and construct validity) from media, technology, and mathematic of education scientists point of view; 2) there were no the important problems in using of this program based on observer, lecturers, and student’s assessment; and 3) The using of this module had affectivity that is showed from the activity, motivation, and result of the student’s study that it can be shown from the students who got high scores after they followed this study.

Abstract

Kemampuan matematis siswa SMA S PP DR. M. Natsir Alahan Panjang khususnya pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa masih rendah. Hal ini terjadi karena guru jarang memberikan latihan yang dapat melatih kemampuan matematis siswa. Siswa kurang diberi kesempatan untuk mengkonstruksi sendiri ide-ide mereka dalam menemukan rumus sehingga siswa terbiasa untuk menghafal rumus yang mengakibatkan siswa kesulitan dalam menjawab soal matematika. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut diterapkan strategi pembelajaran aktif tipe Everyone is Teacher Here (ETH). Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPS SMA S PP DR. M. Natsir Alahan Panjang  Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPS 2 SMA S PP DR. M. Natsir sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas XI IPS 1 SMA S PP DR. M. Natsir sebagai kelas kontrol. Data penelitian diperoleh dari hasil tes kemampuan awal dan tes akhir berupa soal pemahaman konsep dan komunikasi matematis. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji t dan uji Mann Whitney U. Pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan strategi pembelajaran aktif tipe ETH  lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang diajar dengan strategi pembelajaran konvensional, pemahaman konsep siswa yang berkemampuan awal tinggi dan sedang yang diajar dengan strategi pembelajaran aktif tipe ETH lebih tinggi dari siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional, sedangkan pemahaman konsep siswa yang berkemampuan awal rendah yang diajar dengan strategi pembelajaran aktif tipe ETH sama dengan siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional.  Kemampuan komunikasi siswa yang berkemampuan awal tinggi dan sedang yang diajar dengan strategi pembelajaran aktif tipe ETH lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang diajar dengan  pembelajaran konvensional, sedangkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa berkemampuan awal rendah yang diajar dengan strategi pembelajaran aktif tipe ETH sama dengan siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

The title of this research is the Effect of Motivation and Work Environment on Employee Performance At Office PTPN Vi KayuAroKerinci In the Human Resources (HR), this research aims to see Influence Motivation and Work Environment on Employee Performance At Office PTPN VI KayuAro District Kerinci In the Human Resources (HR). This study uses a quantitative method, because researchers want to measure between variables X1, X2 and Y. The sample in this research 33 people.The sampling technique saturation sampling research instrument in the form of questionnaires. Engineering analysis of the use of hypothesis testing Correlation Simple Linear and multiple linear regression, so that in can t 8.322> t table 2.040 (motivation) and the influence between Motivation on Employee Performance At Office PTPN VI KayuAroKerinci In the Human Resources (HR) amounted to 84.2% while the remaining 15.8% can be explained by other causes. Conclusion Ha Ho accepted and rejected, in other words there Effect of Employee Performance at the Office PTPN Vi KayuAroKerinci In the Human Resources (HR), and also can t 23.274> t table 2.040 (Working Environment) and the great influence of the Environment Work on Employee Performance at PTPN VI Office Kayu Aro Kerinci In the Human Resources (HR) of 97.7% while the remaining 2.3% can be explained by other causes. Conclusion Ha Ho accepted and rejected, in other words there is a working environment Effect on Employee Performance at PTPN VI Office KayuAroKerinci In the Human Resources (HR) and can also count 457.621 t> t table 3.32 (Motivation and Work Environment ) and the influence between Motivation and Work Environment on Employee Performance at PTPN VI Office KayuAroKerinci In the Human Resources (HR) of 98.7% while the remaining 1.3% can be explained by other causes. Abstract

Ahmad Sju’eib gelar Malin Permato seorang tokoh eks-digulis yang berasal dari Sumatera Barat, dalam artikel ini akan membahas sebuah kajian biografi. Digulis adalah julukan bagi mereka kaum pergerakan yang pernah di buang ke Boven Digul, sebuah kamp pengasingan yang terdapat di pedalaman hutan Papua. Mereka mendapatkan hukuman ini dengan dijatuhi exorbitant rechten , sebuah hak istimewa gubernur jendral Hindia Belanda. Pada penelitian biografi ini penulis mencoba memaparkan dan menganalisis kehidupan seorang eks-digulis pada masa pendudukan Jepang sampai Proklamasi Kemerdekaan Indonesia. Ia merupakan seorang guru agama yang ikut dalam pergerakan bersama Sarekat Rakyat di Batusangkar. Ia di buang di Boven Digul selama 10 tahun, sampai akhirnya kembali lagi ke kampong halamannya da ikut dalam perjuangan kemerdekaan Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah yang dimulai dari proses; heuristic, atau pengumpulan sumber; kemudian dilanjutkan proses kritik sumber dan intepretasi data; tahap terakhir adalah penulisan sejarah sehingga Biografi ini dapat diselesaikan. Penulisan Biografi ini diharapkan dapat menambah literasi dan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang kamp pembuangan Boven Digul, dimana Boven Digul memeliki tempat khusus dalam sejarah pergerakan bangsa sebagai tempat pembungan para Perintis Kemerdekaan Indonesia

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa PG PAUD UNDHARI melalui penerapan problem-based learning (PBL) pada mata kuliah parenting. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan 3 kali pertemuan setiap siklusnya. Setiap siklus terdiri dari beberapa tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Mahasiswa PG PAUD Universitas Dharmas Indonesia semester 4, yang terdiri dari 16 mahasiswa. Teknik utama dalam pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara tes dan observasi, sementara teknik pendukung dengan menggunakan wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa PG PAUD UNDHARI semester 4  mata kuliah Parenting. Mulai dari pratindakan, siklus I dan siklus II, yaitu 67 pada tahap pratindakan meningkat menjadi 75 pada siklus I dan kembali meningkat menjadi 82 pada siklus II, sehingga presentase ketuntsan yang diperoleh menjadi 82%, ini berarti bahwa nilai yang diperoleh mahasiswa telah mencapai terget ketuntasan belajar mahasiswa. Oleh karenanya dosen perlu meningkatkan keterampilan mengajarnya melalui penerapan problem-based learning (PBL) sebagai salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar mahasiswa PG PAUD UNDHARI  Dharmasraya pada mata kuliah parenting.   Kata Kunci: Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, Problem Based Learning (PBL), Hasil Belajar Mahasiswa

Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify types and level of grammatical and punctuation errors made by the students in writing recount. This is the descriptive quantitative research in content text analysis. The population of this research was the second year students of Junior High School which consists 24 students. In analyze the data, the researcher described about the types of Grammatical and Mechanical errors. Grammatical Errors were grouped into four classes. First, there are three types of language use errors found in using linking verb. They were omission (20%), addition (27%) and selection (14%). Second, in using action verb. They are omission (35%), addition (48%) and selection (35%). Third, there is one type of language use errors found in using pronoun that is omission (08%). Last, there is one type in using possessive that is selection (17%). Meanwhile, in the mechanics they were grouped into four classes. First, there are three types of mechanics errors found in using period. They are omission (53%), addition (23%) and selection (5%). Second, there are three types in using comma. They are omission (9%), addition (11%) and selection(38%).
