Abstract

Abstract: This text reviews the multidimensional and problematic construction of the doctrine of salvation based on reading the study of the Gospel of Matthew. The existence of the multiplicity of creation causes the concept of salvation and how that salvation is achieved to vary greatly (diversity). The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a critical and constructive literature study approach. The Gospel of Matthew emphasizes the meaning of salvation that is particular, universal, and sustainable. Particular salvation is understood from the way Matthew conveys the structure of his gospel from the genealogy of Jesus with nuances of genealogy and Jewish tradition. Universality means that from particularity into ethnically diverse communities in Christ's work of salvation is necessary. For Matthew, Jesus' rescue was affirming and upholding the continuity of God's saving relationship with His people, which began with Abraham, the consummation of the Law, and the continuing validity of all that was done, given, initiated, and instituted by God in history to save his people, as well as God's constant invitations for his people to enter into and remain in a saving relationship. Keywords: Particular, Universal, Continuity Salvation, Gospel of Matthew

Abstract

Abstract: Abstract: This paper examines the meaning of true worship according to Micah 6:8. A socio-historical analysis and linguistic criticism of Micah 6:8 highlights the three important elements needed to gain access to God namely “to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with God.” Hence, Micah 6:8 functions a warning that our religious ritual life must go hand in hand with our ethical responsibilities. The church as a community needs to be grounded in this theological foundation and embrace the understanding that true worship is not only celebrated through our vertical relationship with God, but also manifested through horizontal relationships with others. We can do this by reaching out to those who are economically, socially, culturally, and politically vulnerable; and live in harmony and peace within the community and with all of creation Keywords: justice, love kindness, ritual, solidarity, worship

Abstract

Abstract:  This study examines the concept of Jesus' solidarity as a reflection of the remarkable church in Toraja's Christian community's implementation of solidarity towards others. First, this study seeks to define the concept of Jesus' solidarity in Mark's Gospel. Second, describe the relationship between Jesus's solidarity in the Gospel of Mark and the Christian community's solidarity in Toraja. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach in which the researcher describes the occurrences of Jesus' ministry-related solidarity in the Gospel of Mark. The researcher describes the texts in the Gospel of Mark, focusing on Jesus' solidarity theology. Text analysis on the theology of solidarity as a solid foundation for church solidarity must be implemented in church life, particularly for the Toraja Christian community. In addition to the approach or biblical analysis described previously, interviews were employed in this study. This interviewing procedure will be conducted to obtain information from informants regarding the church's solidarity efforts, particularly in Toraja. This comparative method reveals parallels between the solidarity of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark and church's solidarity in Toraja. The solidarity of Jesus is the foundation of church unity, which furthers the dissemination of the Gospel of Christ. Keywords: Solidarity, Jesus, Christian community, Toraja, Mark

Abstract

Abstract: This study attempts to identify patterns of enculturation of keroncong music in Malang's Maranatha Congregational Church. Utilizing exploratory exposure patterns and instrumental case studies, the research method employs case studies as a research tool. The research identified three patterns of enculturation of keroncong music in Malang's Maranatha Assembly Church: conservative, moderate, and transformative. These three patterns can be utilized effectively and potentially if the following conditions are met: (1) Keroncong music can make a church more authentic if it can serve as a unifying force for the congregation; however, it can also be used to incite conflict. (2) Good arrangement skills are required to combine popular church music with keroncong music, and (3) In addition to the completeness of digital musical instruments, the completeness of instruments and scores of original keroncong music is required to accommodate the playing style of teenagers. (4) There is a need for mutual understanding and respect for the opinions of different groups within the church, as well as the ability to find solutions that are conducive to solving each problem; and (5) An adequate and balanced management plan is required to accommodate every thought and need of each group within the church so that they can exercise their rights and responsibilities in a reasonable manner. Keywords: Enculturation, keroncong music, worship

Abstract

Abstract: GerejaChurch life is bound up in a sense of togetherness. All members of the Church are bound together in one family in the faith. This research focuses on examining the idea ofCoinonia (communion) initiated by Ignasius of Antioch. The primary source is taken from Ignatius of Antioch's letter to the church at Ephesus. Ignatius of Antioch's letter to the church at Ephesus is an entry point to understanding how the church at that time fellowshipped and united. It turns out that the challenge of unity has existed since ancient times, and continues to this day in different forms. This research uses text analysis methods. Excavating documents and writings from Ignasus Anthiokia as one of the Church Fathers needs to be explored to capture how post-apostolic post-apostolic post-apostolic ideology was understood and practiced. This article seeks to contribute to the exploration of the theme of koinonia initiated by the Church Fathers, and to draw out its relevance for the appreciation of communion today. The conclusion that can be drawn is how important it is to maintain a sense of unity in faith as a form of koinonia amidst today's current of individualism, while remaining open to a variety of thoughts. Keywords: Coinonia (togetherness), Ignatius of Antioch, Ephesus. Abstract

Abstract: This research explores models of interreligious tolerance within the phygital neighborhood as practiced by the Young Interfaith Peacemaker Community. In collecting research data, I employ qualitative methods through a phenomenology approach by conducting interviews and observation on websites and social medias such as Instagram of the Young Interfaith Peacemaker Community – Indonesia. From this research, I found that YICP campaigned for peace and tolerance through physical and digital neighborhoods. YIPC is enthusiastic about promoting a peace generation through young peacemakers. Interestingly, YIPC has consciously been involved in the theological, spiritual, dialogue of action and dialogue of life as well as conducting a holistic dialogue through the dialogue of head, dialogue of heart, dialogue of hands, and dialogue of holiness. Those models of dialogue can be seen through the activism of YIPC, such as youth peace camps, peace forums, book reviews, scriptural reasoning, visits to places of worship, peace campaigns on social media, and various other peaceful actions. These activities take place on physical and digital platforms. YIPC also created peaceful dialogue, practicing true tolerance by caring interreligious friendship. In the phygital neighborhood, interreligious tolerance should employ the virtues of interreligious dialogue, such as humility, openness, commitment, interconnection or commonality, acceptance, hospitality, mutual understanding, hospitality, and the possibility of mutual growth and change. Keywords: Interreligious Dialogue; Interreligious Tolerance; Phygital Neighborhood; YIPC.

Abstract

Abstract: Mindfulness has long been popular among psychologists and medical workers as the best answer to help people focus so they can avoid or prevent stress. Some Christians also practice mindfulness and make it part of their worship rituals. However, because it is considered identical to Buddhism and East religions, some believers refuse to practice this for fear of syncretism. Thus, this article explores to what extent believers could accept and practice mindfulness. This study used a qualitative method with a library approach. The writer collects data from various literature related to discussing and analyzing the topic. From the study, the writer concludes that although worldly mindfulness offers more positive aspects than negative ones, believers should avoid it and practice biblical mindfulness instead. The true Christian mindfulness centers on God and involves His words. Keywords: mindfulness, meditation, stress, happiness

The traditional Batak’s belief the mythology of Mula Jadi Na Bolon, was believed as ultimate and absolute power, the creator of the world and everything inside the world. The Batak people worshiped Mula Jadi Na Bolon, offered offering and had ritual worshiping Mula Jadi Na Bolon. They called Mula Jadi Na Bolon as Debata, then this the word that I.L. When the Christian Missionaries arrived among the Toba Batak people, they found the Toba Batak people to be a devoutly zealous people with the vivid awareness of religious power in the world around the Toba Batak people. While many of these religious notions were condemned by missionaries, Batak piety toward the dynamic activity of religious power was preserved in a Christian context. By using the qualitative research method, this article describes the theological approach acknowledging the traditional Batak’s belief in Mula Jadi Na Bolon as High God.
