Abstract

Natural disasters that have both physical and psychological impacts are floods caused by human behavior. Disaster events caused by humans are things that need to be considered for immediate attention because it will cause some infectious diseases. Infectious diseases resulting from floods can be avoided by prevention activities that involve health cadres to take an active role in dealing with the problem of infectious diseases when floods occur. The study aimed to explore cadres’ ability in communicable disease preparedness when flood disasters through support groups. A quasi-experimental study, one group pre-test, and post-test without a control group was applied in this study. Forty-three samples were involved in this study from Gebangmalang Village, Mojoanyar District, Mojokerto Regency. Inclusion criteria; 1) cadres who are willing to become respondents; 2) cadres living in the study area; 3) cadres present at the intervention. 1-month research time. The results of the research show that the mean of knowledge, attitudes, and skills before and after the intervention increased from 34.9% to 100% good, 46.5% to 100% positive, and 55.8% to 100% good. Cadres increased the infectious diseases controlling when the flood disaster occurred with a p-value of 0.001. Increasing the ability of cadres was due to the interrelatedness between the knowledge, attitudes, and skills of a cadre. Based on the findings, community of nurses should provide to be able to prepare activities before a disaster occurs to be able to minimize the impact that occurs as a result of a disaster

Abstract

Hand Hygiene (HH) is the most effective step to reduce the transmission rate of patient care infections. Attempting to increase HH is carried out by using technology and handwashing compliance as an indicator of its success. The study aimed to describe information on technological developments in HH monitoring in hospitals and their effects on the level of compliance of health workers, especially nurses, in conducting HH. This study uses the literature review method, using the Science Direct, Scopus, Ebsco, and PROQUEST databases. The author uses keywords: "electronic hand hygiene monitoring" and "technology of hand hygiene monitoring" in searching the database. The development of technology in HH monitoring has increased in the last decade. The main goal of its development is to reduce the bias that occurs with control by a human. There are three kinds of HH technology, such as wireless tracking technology, auditing video, and chemical fluid sensor. The use of electronic HH monitoring can increase HH compliance, both assessed in terms of quality and quantity. In contrast, until now, there are no tools that can detect HH compliance in all HH WHO's moments. In its development, the successful use of these tools also experienced obstacles

Abstract

Services in hospitals are supported by human resources that are dominated by nurses. Motivation is an impetus that arises in the self to take action to achieve goals. Nurses' motivation to work is salary, promotion, training, recognition, supervision, work team, work comfort, work environment and responsibilities. The quality of nursing services as an indicator of the quality of health services is one of the determining factors in the image of health service institutions in the eyes of the community, whether the services provided are satisfactory or not. This type of research is a survey with an explanatory research type, which aims to explain the influence of motivation (salary, promotion of positions, training, recognition, supervision, work team, work comfort, work environment and responsibility) on the utilization of the quality of nursing services at the Imelda General Hospital, Medan . The study was conducted at Imelda General Hospital, Medan. The population in this study were all implementing nurses, amounting to 180 people. The number of samples in this study were 64 people obtained by simple random sampling technique. Analysis of the data used is multiple linear regression. The results showed that the motivation of nurses at Imelda General Hospital was moderate motivation (84%). The quality of nursing services at Imelda General Hospital is of poor quality (55%). Variables that influence the quality of nursing services are salary, training, work teams and supervision. The contribution of the five variables to the quality of nursing services was 77%. Of the five variables the strongest influence on the quality of nursing services is training (B = 3,536). It is recommended to the Imelda General Hospital to formulate policies and regulations regarding the implementation of basic education and training that must be owned by a nurse, prepare routine internal training programs, provide opportunities for nurses to continue their education to a higher education level, conduct regular nursing audits which includes evaluation of nursing care documentation, completeness of patient files, assessment of nursing actions in order to improve professionalism and quality of nursing services.

Abstract

Pulmonary rehabilitation is a process of multi-disciplinary and comprehensive evidence-based for patients with chronic respiratory disease who are symptomatic and decreased daily of living activities. There is some literature discusses about pulmonary rehabilitation, but no one has analyzed the concept of pulmonary rehabilitation, particularly in the field of nursing. The concept of this analysis aims to analyze the concept of pulmonary rehabilitation by using Walker and Avant's concept analysis framework. There are some attributes influence pulmonary rehabilitation, such as the patient's condition, disease severity, and the environment that supports pulmonary rehabilitation. Antecedents concerning pulmonary rehabilitation include a history of past illnesses and the patient's lifestyle. The consequence towards pulmonary rehabilitation can be seen in two aspects, namely the patient and the health care system. Therefore, the pulmonary rehabilitation conceptual model should be based on attributes and antecedents to improve the quality of life of patients and quality of nursing services.
