Abstract

Background: Physical activity is a part of exercise, considered the cornerstone in treating type 2 diabetes. Physical activity controls blood glucose directly circulating and increases tissue sensitivity to insulin, reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, and reduces mortality. Objective: This study aims to determine the difference in changes in blood sugar given through the Physical Activity Health Module (PA) media. Design: This study used pre-experimental using two groups of pre-test and post-test. The sample is 100 people who have DMT2 in Takalar Regency. The research results show a significant difference between the provision of education through the health module media to changes in blood sugar. Conclusion: Giving the Physical Activity (PA) health module can reduce blood sugar levels in patients with Diabetes Mellitus type. Recommendation: The Physical Activity Health (PA) module is the evidence base to assist decision-makers, especially for nurses holding the Diabetes Mellitus program, in making relevant policies. It is also essential to design effective promotion and prevention programs to improve health services, especially promoting physical activity programs for DMT2 patients

Abstract

Background: Human Immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) are global health problems today. WHO states that there are 35 million people in the world living with HIV/AIDS. This problem occurs due to the management of patients who have not been optimal; control is only concentrated on specific and general therapy by relying on antiretroviral treatment (ARV). The use of antiretrovirals (ARVs) in patients who test positive for HIV is an effort to extend the life expectancy of people living with HIV and AIDS and make them healthier and more productive by reducing viremia and increasing the number of CD4 cells. Objective: This study aims to explore the experience of PLWHA in undergoing ARV therapy in the work area of ??the Helvetia Health Center Medan. Method: This research is qualitative research with a descriptive phenomenological approach. The population of this study was PLWHA, who received ARV in the working area of ??Helvetia Health Center Medan. The number of participants is 6 people, and the data saturation has been achieved and taken using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection method with in-depth interviews. Data were analyzed using the N.Vivo software version 12.0 trial. Result: The research results obtained from the interviews showed that there are 3 themes, 7 sub-themes, and 13 categories. The 3 themes are understanding the meaning of ARV treatment, getting support for taking ARVs, and having hopes related to ARVs. Conclusion: In conclusion, participants in this study went through various stages in obtaining ARVs considering that PLWHA already fully understood the meaning of ARVs that could extend the life expectancy of PLWHA

Abstract

Background: General practitioners are responsible for providing health services, such as disease prevention, diagnosis, initial treatment, and referring patients to specialists based on the severity of the disease. Objective: This study aims to determine the influence of clinical competence and work motivation on the performance of general practitioners, with training serving as an intervening variable. Methods: This study was conducted at National Cancer Centre Hospital in January-June 2022. This is a cross-sectional study with a path analysis as its analysis method. The respondents were general practitioners who provide services to patients, with a total respondent of 51 participants. Result: This study reported an influence of simultaneous clinical competence and work motivation on general practitioners' working performance with training as an intervening variable (p=0.000). According to the partial test result, there was an effect of clinical competence on general practitioners' performance (p=0.000) and an effect of training on general practitioners' performance (p=0.003). There was no effect of work motivation on general practitioners' performance (p=0.302) or training (p=0.555). Conclusion: There is a simultaneous influence of clinical competence and work motivation on the performance of general practitioners, with training as an intervening variable. The study results suggest creating specific standards of competence for general practitioners working at the National Cancer Centre. Furthermore, it is necessary to hold training for general practitioners in accordance with the particular competencies needed to improve and maintain.

Abstract

Background: Blood pressure is an important indicator of the circulatory system. An increase or decrease in blood pressure will affect the balance in the body. Hypertension is a condition when the systolic blood pressure is more than 140 mmHg and the diastolic pressure is more than 90 mmHg. High blood pressure is also called the silent killer because it is a deadly disease. Green tea (Camellia Synesis) contains polyphenols, these compounds can reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as blood cholesterol levels and blood pressure. Objective: This study aims to analyze the difference in blood pressure before and after giving green tea to hypertensive patients at the Imelda Hospital in Medan. Method: The research method used in this study is the Quasi-Experiment method with a research design using pre-test and post-test one group design. The population of this study was 295 patients or respondents and the sample in this study were 33 patients or respondents. Data were analyzed by Univariate and Bivariate using Wilcoxon test. Result: The results showed that the effect of giving green tea on blood pressure was p-value = 0.000 <0.05, which means that there was an effect of giving green tea on blood pressure at Imelda Hospital Medan. Recommendation: It is hoped that this research will serve as information for the public to know about the benefits of giving green tea to lowering blood pressure as an alternative to non-pharmacological therapy so that blood pressure remains normal and stable

Abstract

Background: Health problems are suffered a lot around the world, one of which is dental caries. Based on the study's results, as many as 93% of children aged 5-6 years experienced dental caries, with an average experience of dental caries (dmf-t) of 8.3. World Health Organization (WHO) data shows that 90% of children have caries, and the ECC prevalence of children aged 5-6 years in Indonesia is 90.05%. This figure is still very far from expectations compared to the WHO target, which states that in 2020 the child's DMF-T value is one, and the Indonesian Ministry of Health targets to be caries-free by 2030. Objective: The study aimed to examine the effect of Modelling Mama’s Heart Movement to Decrease Debris Index in Elementary School Students. Method: Quasi-experiment with pre-posttest design, and the statistical test used is the Wilcoxon test. Results: The results are Wilcoxon's test with a p-value of 0.000, meaning that there is a significant change between the debris index scores before and after treatment in students. Recommendation Modelling Mama's Heart Movement can effectively decrease debris index and be an alternative problem-solving in school children's dental hygiene

Abstract

Background: One of the community groups affected by the Covid-19 pandemic is college students. The pandemic has changed the learning system that requires college students to study from home. In addition, it changes college student life habits, including physical activity, diet, body composition, stress, changes in body weight, and others. Objective: Aim to model the impact of the pandemic on weight changes in college students in Indonesia. Method: this study was conducted on 1185 college students for 35 days with a cross-sectional design. The research design used a cross-sectional study design. Analysis of the data used is SEM with LISREL. Result: The results showed a causal relationship between the latent variables of significant lifestyle factors on consumption factors and important consumption factors on changes in body weight in a positive direction. Structural model of the determinants of weight change = 0.05 consumption + 1.03 lifestyle. Conclusion: Lifestyle and consumption factors affect changes in body weight during the Covid 19 Pandemic in college students. Recommendation: There needs to be more attention to public health after the Covid-19 Pandemic hit, especially regarding consumption patterns and stress. People must be able to adjust to new normal conditions so as not to vent their stress by consuming lots of snacks or foods high in fat and sugar

Test results of the New Habit Adaptation variable analysis with cognitive and emotional disorders p value 0.004 (p 0.05). Variable Adaptation to New Habits with psychotic disorders p value 0.700 (p?0.05). Variable Adaptation to New Habits with Post-traumatic stress disorder p value 0.700 (p?0.05). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the Adaptation of New Habits with Mental and Emotional Disorders. This is due to the same perception and feeling about the stressor experienced. There is no relationship between Adaptation to New Habits with Psychotic Disorders and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
