Abstract

Improvement of the current construction of midrise to high-rise building in Surabaya relatively needs to be evaluated, especially for compact office building area, it is very challenging to have an optimal space to the structural system with facilitate a satisfactory capacity performance. This paper makes a comparative study of the effectivity of structural plate structure in the compact office building between conventional slab (M1), waffle slab (M2) and flat slab (M3). A typical 5-story reinforced concrete building structure is selected as a case study within 6 m symmetrically span for each model. The proposed method used in this study is based on empirical analysis followed by numerical evaluation using SAP2000. The step initiated by deriving an optimal alternative of various type of slab. This study aims to emphasize the benefits to the functionality of the structural system which more efficient in term of structural capacity and its performance. As the result, M1 and M3 offer a similar behaviour due to the reinforcement and design performance with high slab deformation compared to the M2. M2 present a lower slab deflection under the supported of waffle element with the result almost twice smaller than M1 and M3.

Abstract

This qualitative study focuses on bibliometric analysis of literacy research trends of vocational high school’s students in the Field of Building Construction. The goal is to find out the direction and projection of research using a content analysis approach with Google Scholar and Scopus databases taking the range of 2003-2023. The data search process was carried out through Publish or Perish software which then obtained 1,166 raw data with the acquisition of saturated data as much as 24 data. This study analyzes trend growth, author country/geographic location, author agency/affiliation, keywords, and author distribution. The results found that the research topic in this study rose in the range of 2008-2012 with Indonesia as a country that appeared superior, supported by the superior affiliation of the country, namely Jakarta State University, with the author on behalf of Riyan Arthur getting a superior position in this research, while keyword analysis showed that vocational literacy studies had not been discussed much, indicated by the small bubble shape, some related keywords are about literacy skills in SMK, literacy components in SMK, to the required learning support such as e-modules. So that based on the results of existing research, it can be projected that the development of research in vocational literacy in SMK in the Field of Building Construction will be in line with the dominant results that appear in every analysis that has been carried out.

Abstract

Modules are teaching materials that contain learning objectives, learning material/substance and evaluation so that students can learn independently and be more active in learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the module on student learning outcomes in first semester of the Civil Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Graha Nusantara University in the Basic Engineering Mechanics course and the magnitude of the increase in learning outcomes. The research method used was quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The number of samples is 40 students, which are divided into two groups. Data collection uses test techniques (questions) through pre-test and post-test. Data processing was performed using Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) version 21.0 for Windows. Based on the results of the t-test, it was found that tcount ≥ ttable or 4.2058 ≥ 2.023 meaning that Ho is rejected or Ha is accepted. So that the module-based learning model affects the learning outcomes of Basic Engineering Mechanics students of the Civil Engineering Study Program, Graha Nusantara University Padangsidimpuan with an increase in learning outcomes of 41.86%. Meanwhile, the conventional learning model is only able to increase the learning outcomes of Basic Engineering Mechanics by 28.69%. The module-based learning model has a percent effectiveness of 35.19% to improve Basic Engineering Mechanics learning outcomes. Thus, the application of a module-based learning model is very suitable and effective for colleges used.

Abstract

Candlenut is a superior commodity with great opportunities. Processing of candlenut seeds produces candlenut shells which are hard with a calorific value of 4164 cal/g so can be used as fuel. Processing candlenut shells as fuel produces waste of ash and not been utilized optimally. In this research, candlenut shell ash was used as a new alternative in making paving blocks, namely to substitute sand by 13%, 18% and 25% by weight of sand. The method used to analyze the chemical content of candlenut shell ash through XRF testing and compressive strength testing with a Compression Testing Machine after 28 days of curing time. Based on the results of the XRF test, hazelnut shell ash has a CaO content of 93.3%, where CaO is the main ingredient for making cement. In addition, the results of the average compressive strength of paving blocks at 13% substitution of candlenut shell ash produced a compressive strength of 5.89 Mpa, 18% substitution of candlenut shell ash of 8.72 Mpa, and 25% substitution of candlenut shell ash of 11.07 Mpa. The results of the compressive strength of paving blocks with the substitution of hazelnut shell ash produced standard standard paving block strength of D quality.

Abstract

Indonesia, which has tectonic conditions in the form of a large meeting point of the world's plates and several small plates, makes the region in Indonesia the center of earthquake occurrences and earthquake-resistant buildings are an absolute necessity. Eccentrically Braced Frames (EBFs) are a model of earthquake-resistant steel building structures that can limit inelastic behavior only to link elements, where the use of these links, especially replaceable links, can facilitate post-earthquake building repairs without having to reconstruct the main building. This study will analyze the stability, behavior, performance levels, and energy dissipation capabilities of six EBF models by combining vertical link and horizontal link configurations for different building height classifications, namely low, medium, and high buildings. Analysis uses the Response Spectrum Analysis and Pushover Analysis methods with the help of structural analysis software. From this analysis, 3-storey H-EBF has the highest stability, 10-storey V-EBF has the fastest time to reach the first yielding condition and consumes the most energy, 3-storey V-EBF has the highest ductility, and 3-storey H-EBF has the highest stiffness. highest. However, the performance level of all EBFs is in the form of Immediate Occupation and similar collapse mechanisms.

Abstract

Building maintenance must also be carried out on campus buildings, because every day they are used by the academic community in their activities in large numbers. For that we need buildings that are safe, comfortable, and decent. Building maintenance in Indonesia is regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works No.24/PRT/M/2008 concerning Building Maintenance. This arrangement was updated with the passing of Law number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation. Based on this, it is also necessary to know the best building maintenance methods that must be applied based on the right approach. This study aims to plan a maintenance method for the L5 building on the UNJ Campus based on the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) using Building Information Modeling (BIM). Based on a series of studies on the UNJ Campus L5 building that is integrated with BIM, it will improve the process of maintaining and repairing buildings. The results of this early stage research are expected to provide an overview and recommendations on how to maintain the UNJ Campus building.

Abstract

The Kodim intersection is one of the intersections at Jalan Raya Sawangan. Identifying vehicle traffic, performance, and potential remedies at the Kodim intersection and Jalan Raya Sawangan was the goal of this study. The information gathered from the survey results, the research technique employs a strategy from the PKJI (Pedoman Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia) and a simulation utilizing the PTV Vissim program. Based on the results of data analysis and processing, the busiest traffic flow at the Kodim intersection occurred on Weekday at 17.30–18.30 WIB with a degree of saturation value of 1,391 and the LoS value is F. Analysis of the road section also obtained the largest volume of vehicles on Weekday at 17.15–18.15 WIB, the degree of saturation value is 1.49, so the Los value is F. By carrying out several repair solutions, the best service level value is obtained for the repair solution by making a flyover. The solution of making a flyover produces a degree of saturation value of 0.382, so that the Level of Service (Los) value of the intersection is obtained at level B. The resulting degree of saturation value is below 0.85, as required in the PKJI 2014.
