Abstract

COVID-19 cases in Indonesia began to be reported positive confirmed on March 2, 2020, with 2 cases. In West Sumatra Province, 182 positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed, starting on May 2, 2020. During the current pandemic, visits to health services have begun to decrease to fear making visits in crowds. Teachers and employees are required to be pillars of health for students and their parents; problems to control health regularly must also be presented in the school environment. So that all teachers and employees are always healthy and productive in carrying out their activities. This community service aims to periodically control the health of teachers and employees through socialization and introduction of Posbindu and regular health checks in the form of Posbindu (Integrated Guidance Post) PTM (Non-Communicable Diseases) Institutions. Community service is carried out at SD IT Cendekia Andalas. The targets of this service are teachers and school employees; the approach method is carried out by socializing, discussing, and forming cadres, distributing Posbindu equipment for further training in the future, and achieving the objectives of implementing Posbindu. Most of the community service participants in general still do not know about the Institutional PTM Posbindu; it is recommended that further form a team of Posbindu cadres as a program driving team; it is hoped that all teachers and employees at SD IT Cendekia Andalas will be exposed to the importance of regular health checks through the Institutional PTM Posbindu, health teachers and employees are monitored safely, and the spread of Covid-19 in crowds can be avoided.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a comprehensive impact on all aspects of people's lives. The government has launched the Disaster Resilient Village program 2014 in empowering rural communities to face disasters. When the Covid-19 pandemic struck in West Sumatra, this program was echoed again in the form of the Nagari Tageh Program. However, the government and the Nagari community still need strengthening in planning and implementing this program. This activity aims to assist the community and the Sumaniak Nagari Government in preparing a Nagari development plan that is responsive to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic through strengthening community empowerment. This activity was carried out in 2020 with the stages of identifying problems and priority needs of the Nagari community in reducing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, identifying programs and activities to resolve these problems, and discussing program financing through the Nagari government budget. This activity has resulted in programs and activities that have been agreed by the community and the Nagari government to be implemented in 2021. The resulting development plan reflects a development plan that is responsive to community problems and needs and is participatory because it involves the community in its preparation. Through partnership activities with Unand, the team will become Nagari partners starting from the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation stages of the Nagari Tageh development program so that Nagari Sumaniak is ready to face pandemics and other disasters in the future and become an Independent Nagari in all aspects of development.

Abstract

Teledentistry is an examination and consultation of patients to the dentist without going through face-to-face visits, but with the help of an online application. The purpose of the activity is to help and facilitate Co-ass students of the Faculty of Dentistry, Andalas University, to fulfill the requirements for oral diagnosis via online (teledentistry) during the covid 19 pandemic. The activity is carried out in the form of examination/screening of patients carried out by Co-ass students whom Hospital Precept accompanies at the Faculty of Dentistry, Andalas University (Lecturer). Activities to be carried out consist of counseling, coordinator, mentoring, and monitoring of implementation and evaluation. The results of this activity can meet the patient's need for dental and oral examinations and expand access to dental care. Dental and oral health is essential for every individual, especially for carrying out functions such as eating, speaking, aesthetics, and feeling comfortable throughout the day. The Covid-19 pandemic limits the community's social conditions, including their need to get dental and oral services from dentists. In addition, dentistry is one of the jobs most at risk of contracting Covid-19 from patients. Through teledentistry activities, a dentist takes anamnesis to patients, clinical examinations are carried out through consultation through pictures and videos, diagnosis as initial information in planning further treatment, and supportive care such as patient education.

Abstract

Schools function as places of learning and become a threat of disease transmission if they are not managed properly. School-age for children is also a time of vulnerability to various diseases, such as diarrhea, infectious diseases, dengue fever, etc. In addition, school-age is also the most appropriate time to instill understanding, healthy living habits. They respond to this problem, the formation and empowerment of the larva monitoring team at SMPN 05 Padang City. Based on the author's observations, SMPN 05 Padang City has water storage facilities, is very vulnerable to causing various disease transmission agents attacking students at school. Through the formation, the empowerment of the larva monitoring team is expected to be a driving force in creating a clean and healthy environment at school and where they live. The larva monitoring team consists of students who meet the criteria and have been trained to participate in carrying out some efforts to maintain and improve environmental health in schools. This service activity will begin with socialization and counseling activities from the service team, after that the recruitment and formation of a larva monitoring team is carried out, the next stage, the appointed team can carry out the movements that must be carried out, including larva monitoring, the Mosquito Nest Eradication Movement, and finally carried out recording and reporting. In contrast, in the evaluation stage, an assessment of the development of attitudes and behavior of SMPN 05 Padang City students is carried out towards the school larvae monitoring team. Abstract

One way to prevent Covid-19 is through educational activities and information dissemination useful for people who are still unfamiliar with information related to Covid-19. Pulo Kiton is one of the villages in Juang City, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province. Based on the level of economic growth of the village from year to year, it can be said to be developing. Pulo Kiton Village's economic activities are dominated by the home industry sector and other formal businesses. This activity aims to increase public knowledge regarding Covid-19 prevention measures. The activities carried out were making and distributing hand sanitizers, making banners, leaflets, and Covid-19 posters for public education, and sharing bread in the form of caring for others. This activity can be carried out correctly and with the support of the Village Head and the local community, and there are no significant obstacles because Bireuen Regency is a Covid-19 green zone. However, the prevention of Covid-19 is still carried out according to health protocols. Another supporting activity is training in making liquid dishwashing soap, and this activity can help increase the community created to help develop businesses. Another activity is the use of yardland by planting a family medicinal plant because this village does not have plantation land. Hence, yard land is an option for carrying out activities. Another supporting activity is the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizer from coconut water waste. Homemakers can use this fertilizer for the growth of ornamental plants in the yard. The multimedia activities carried out are making video tutorials on making fertilizer and making bean sprouts without tails. The results of this complex activity can increase public knowledge in preventing Covid-19 and provide skills and solutions amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Zinc is an essential micronutrient in the human body as a cofactor of about 300 enzymes. Zinc is very instrumental in the growth process, including maintaining the thymus so that atrophy is not fast. Zinc deficiency can affect the immune system. Zinc deficiency can be caused due to a lack of zinc intake. In theory, many factors affect zinc intake, among others, community knowledge, education, economy, diet, habits, and customs. Lambung Bukit Village is a fostered village of Andalas University. Most people in this village are classified as economically deficient because the community generally farms. The level of public knowledge about zinc is still lacking. This service aims to increase public knowledge of the importance of zinc on body health and the provision of zinc supplements to prevent zinc deficiency and is expected to reduce morbidity and mortality due to infection in children. This activity has been carried out at Bustanul Ulum Elementary School in Batu Busuk Village, Lambung Bukit Village, Pauh District, Padang City. Counseling conducted to 48 people (parents of students and teachers). Almost all parents' knowledge is lacking about zinc, the role, source of zinc, and its relation to several diseases. We hope this counseling can increase public knowledge about the importance of zinc on the body, mainly to prevent susceptibility to infections and any food sources that contain zinc. The results of a health examination by pediatricians found two students suffering from Congenital Heart Disease (CHD), poor oral hygiene, and many teeth carious students. Giving zinc syrup to children aged 7-10 years is expected to prevent zinc deficiency in children.

Abstract

Transmission of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 from corpses to people around, namely mortuary officers and the families of the bodies, can occur through direct contact with body fluids, objects around the body that are contaminated with the coronavirus, and aerosols formed when the body is moved or turned over. The curing of the COVID-19 corpse requires special treatment so that the custodian of the corpse avoids the transmission of this coronavirus. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge and awareness of medical and mortuary staff about the importance of organizing COVID-19 bodies by taking into account the standards that the WHO has issued, professional organizations while still paying attention to the ethical, religious, and customs aspects of the local community. This capacity-building method is in the form of an online seminar on the role of medical personnel in curing COVID-19 corpses through the provision of 4 topics by four presenters. The material provided was the ethical and legal aspects of the burial of COVID-19 bodies, the management of the burial of COVID-19 corpses, religious views on the handling of COVID-19 corpses, and filling out the COVID-19 death certificate. The results of the activities obtained are the pretest and post-test results to assess the participants' knowledge. Ninety-one participants attended the pretest, and 94 participants from 150 seminar participants attended the post-test. According to standard operating procedures adopted from WHO, the funeral of the corpse is carried out by taking into account ethical, cultural, and religious aspects. The province of West Sumatra itself is primarily Muslim, so this protocol is also based on the fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council. The preparation of SOPs for the healing of COVID-19 patients and socialization needs to be continued with other health workers and the community to reduce the turbidity in the community regarding the handling of the bodies of COVID-19 patients.

Abstract

Nagari Sijunjung has become a concern of various parties since registering Jorong Padang Ranah and Tanah Bato as world heritage and traditional villages. Both regions have many big houses, which is one of the essential bases for registration. However, apart from the big houses and their physical architecture, Nagari Sijunjung, especially Padang Ranah and Tanah Bato, have much intangible cultural heritage stored in the memory of a small part of the community. This intangible cultural heritage is neglected and forgotten, even though it can be an essential part of the registration to UNESCO. This activity aims to provide knowledge and understanding to the people of Padang Ranah and Tanah Bato about the importance of their intangible cultural heritage and document the intangible cultural heritage that exists in Padang Ranah and Tanah Bato, Nagari Sijunjung. This activity was carried out in Padang Ranah and Tanah Bato Nagari Sijunjung, West Sumatra. The methods used in this counseling are lectures and discussions. Documentation of this activity is also carried out by producing intangible cultural archives. They can understand and begin to document the intangible cultural products they have. They also do not hesitate to pass it on to the younger generation, so they do not just disappear. Archiving efforts are also needed as supporting documents for the existence of cultural heritage owned by the community. Through this activity, the people of Padang Ranah and Tanah Bato are expected to understand and also begin to become products of their intangible culture.
