<![CDATA[The skin crackers are well-known and favored as regional superior products which are very potential to be developed. The purpose of this service is to improve sanitation and hygiene aspects, where the layout of production in accordance with SSOP and GMP. Approach methods offered to support knowledge programs using trained and consultation with the methods used are lectures and discussions. The focus of activities is the renovation of layout of production space and sanitation equipment. Based on the service of introducing appropriate technology, Mitra is very enthusiastic about using cleaning tools for wet and clean production spaces with sanitary and hygienic and storage space equipped with container boxes so that it can increase the shelf life of the skin after drying, as well as improve the production space so that the production is running well in accordance with SSOP, GMP in production.]]>

<![CDATA[The laying duck farming business in Nagari Surian is generally managed traditionally. Ducks are released in the morning and return to the cage in the afternoon and there are farmers who keep their ducks moving according to the rice harvest time in the local area. Maintenance management that has not been managed properly and the lack of knowledge of farmers are the main obstacles faced at the activity location so that the productivity of ducks is still very low. This activity aims to identify these problems and find solutions by developing appropriate programs for the next three years. The method of activities carried out in this activity is through online and offline discussions and consultations. This program is implemented on a people's duck farm located in Nagari Surian, Pantai Cermin District, Solok Regency. Activities are carried out by discussing with duck farmers to find out the obstacles experienced and then developing programs to overcome these problems. From the program that has been prepared, it is hoped that the program can be implemented properly so that it can overcome the problems of breeders and can increase the local duck population and make Nagari Surian as one of the producers of duck eggs in West Sumatra Province.]]>

<![CDATA[Procurement of artificial fertilizers is very limited, in addition to the high price, sometimes the distribution of fertilizer at retail kiosks experiences various obstacles in the smooth distribution. Therefore there must be other efforts in the procurement of liquid organic fertilizers (LOF) that take from raw materials found in nature. The purpose was to socialize the manufacture of C.odora LOF and its application techniques and benefits to plants. This counseling was carried out at the Nanggalo Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) office, Padang City. The activity began with a request from the Nanggalo Agricultural Extension Center, Padang City, to the Faculty of Agriculture for their willingness to provide counseling in their office. In accordance with the agreed schedule, the activities were carried out. In this activity, the team from the Faculty of Agriculture, consisted of 3 group members and was attended by no less than 20 Padang City instructors. On this occasion, the activity began with remarks from the Head of BPP, then a lecture using an LCD projector and a question and answer discussion about the topics discussed and a group photo. The conclusion was that making of LOF has become important at this time because artificial fertilizers are increasingly expensive and limited in availability. Agricultural extension workers have an important role in disseminating this activity to farmer groups in their working areas. Making LOF is also one of the efforts to reduce organic waste that can pollute the environment.]]>

<![CDATA[Gambir is a leading commodity from West Sumatra and has been processed for generations. Gambir farmers have not received attention in occupational health and safety (K3) services. In processing gambier, there are various occupational hazards to gambier farmers; if no preventive measures are taken, it can cause health problems due to work. Limited knowledge and the absence of health and safety guidance at work have caused Gambir farmers to consider the application of Work Safety and Health culture in their daily work not to be a concern. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge and understanding of gambier farmers about the importance of applying the principles of Occupational Safety and Health in the workplace so that gambier farmers can avoid occupational hazards and risks. The activities were carried out in the form of Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and counseling on work safety, personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent hazards and risks of work accidents and occupational diseases for gambier farmers in Batang Kapas, Pesisir Selatan. The activity was effective, and the goal was achieved by increasing the insight of gambier farmers about the dangers and risks in the gambier processing process. The farmer groups who attended directly practiced personal protective equipment so that farmers' understanding of work safety was increased. It is hoped that there will be sustainable occupational health and safety development for gambier farmers and inter-sectoral collaboration.]]>

<![CDATA[The community service program is conducted at the Kelok Rambai livestock Group, Kapau, Tilatang Kamang District, Agam Regency. the Kelok Rambai livestock Group is a group of livestock that raises Murrah buffalo but has not implemented good maintenance management. Maintenance management that has not been appropriately managed and farmers' lack of knowledge are the main obstacles faced at the service location. The productivity of Murrah buffalo is still very low. This service activity aims to improve maintenance management, improve the income of Murrah buffalo farmers with the application of good management, and the application of science and technology and research results to develop independent businesses. The method of activities carried out in this service is participatory community empowerment, including counseling, training/ pilots, guidance/ guidance, discussion/ consultation, and evaluation/monitoring. It is hoped that from community service activities to Kelok Rambai livestock Group, it can increase income for group members, implement good maintenance management, increase motivation, use appropriate technology and make Kapau one of the central Murrah buffalo farms producing milk and “dadih” in West Sumatra.]]>

<![CDATA[Consumption of healthy snacks in children is very important to note, this is because it will have an impact on the health and nutritional status of the child. The nutritional status of children will affect the quality of human resources from school to productive age. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge of junior high school students about healthy snack menus based on local food. The method of this activity is to conduct nutrition education and evaluate the increase in student's knowledge by using a questionnaire. This activity begins with an introduction and continues with a pre-test. Furthermore, nutrition education in the form of providing interesting materials and videos in choosing healthy snacks based on local food, post-test, discussion, and question and answer. To increase the enthusiasm of the participants, prizes were given. The results of the activities obtained by nutrition education at SMPN 2 Bayang can increase the knowledge of junior high school children about how to choose healthy snacks based on local food. This can be seen from the difference in the level of students' knowledge before (pre-test) and after (post-test) regarding the nutrition education provided. Besides, when students are served some snacks, students can choose and explain healthy and unhealthy foods. Some of the various local snacks and processed forms such as sweet potatoes, corn, taro can also be described in detail by students. From the activities that have been carried out, it can be concluded that nutrition education increases student’s knowledge about how to choose healthy snacks based on local food.]]>

<![CDATA[During this Covid-19 pandemic, physical activity and utilizing the yard for family medicinal plants is highly recommended because it can increase one's body immunity and will reduce the spread of Covid-19 disease. Physical activity and family medicinal plants is one of the programs of the Healthy Living Community Movement. This program is one of the programs that have been launched by the Government. The results of a survey conducted in the Dadok Tunggul Hitam Public Health Center, Padang District, Koto Tangah, it is known that most people rarely do physical activity that can improve the body's immune system. The implementation of activities is carried out directly by implementing strict health protocols. The activity started by doing physical activity in the form of aerobic exercise and giving and explaining the types and benefits of family medicinal plant seeds to 15 family heads where 1 family head got 5 family medicinal plant seeds. The evaluation results showed that there was an increase in public knowledge about the importance of gymnastics. Aerobics and the types and benefits of family medicinal plants during the pre test and post test. Suggestions for the public health centers are to monitor the results of this education]]>

<![CDATA[The low nutritional status of the social community facing Indonesia is a social problem in society that will have an impact on the quality of human resources because it will affect intelligence, immunity to disease, infant mortality, maternal mortality, and work productivity. Stunting is a chronic malnutrition problem caused by a lack of nutritional intake for a long time, resulting in growth problems in children, namely the child's height is lower or shorter (stunted) than the standard age. Based on data from Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) in 2010, it is known that the prevalence of stunting under five has reached 35.6% and has increased in 2013, namely 37.2%. The prevalence of stunting was higher than the prevalence rate of malnutrition and malnutrition (17.9%), underweight children (13.3%), and obese children (14%). The aim of this community service is to provide education to 30 pregnant women through online media. With this service activity, it is hoped that it can reduce the number of stunting and mortality in children starting from the area of the City of Padang Panjang. Activities are carried out through the media whats apps for four meetings. The data collected were data on changes in maternal weight before and after the intervention. While the data analysis used paired sample t-test. Statistical results show that there is a difference in average body weight before and after education with a p-value of 0.003. Nutrition education can increase body weight and nutritional problems in pregnant women so that they can give birth to healthy and smart children.]]>

<![CDATA[UKS is part of the school-age child health program. Problems that often arise in the implementation of UKS are that the use of UKS space is not optimal and a cadre of students has not been formed in a sustainable manner to become UKS administrators, and the role of UKS at the elementary school level is not optimal in order to improve the health status of school-age children. Based on secondary data, it was found that the implementation of School Health Business at SDN 31 Pasia Nan Tigo, Koto Tangah District was not optimal. In addition, diseases caused by behavioral factors such as diarrhea, ARI, and helminthiasis, are still health problem that still often appears among the school-age group in this area, therefore it is necessary to develop and develop UKS activities by holding Little Doctor Training. The purpose of this activity is to form a small doctor so that the implementation of UKS is better so that school-age children can improve their own health and the health of others around them, especially their peers. or simulation. This activity went well. The participants participated in the activity enthusiastically and were able to answer the questions given at the end of the session. This activity can also increase the knowledge of small doctors about first aid. It is suggested to the school be able to cooperate with the Puskesmas in the Pasia Nan Tigo area to conduct comprehensive training of minor doctors.]]>
