Abstract

This research examines the implementation of the inclusive education paradigm in the context of Islamic education in Islamic schools in Lombok. Inclusive education has become a global focus in the effort to achieve educational equality, yet its implementation within the context of Islamic education still faces various challenges. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, this research investigates how Islamic schools in Lombok integrate the principles of inclusion within the framework of Islamic education. The research findings indicate a complex dynamic in aligning Islamic values with inclusive education practices. The main challenges include limited resources, a lack of teacher training, and socio-cultural stereotypes. However, promising local innovations have also been found in adapting the curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate student diversity. This study reveals that despite the gap between policy and implementation, Islamic schools in Lombok show positive progress in adopting inclusive practices. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the intersection between inclusive education and Islamic education while highlighting the importance of contextualizing inclusive education policies within specific cultural and religious settings.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the application of the marsialapari tradition in Huta Padang Village, Mandailing Natal, and its impact on the character building of tolerance in the local community. The tradition of marsialapari, a typical practice of gotong royong in Mandailing and Angkola culture, continues to be preserved in this village even though the influence of modernization has eroded it in many other places. This type of research is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results show that marsialapari not only plays a role in supporting agricultural activities, but also as an important mechanism in building and maintaining tolerance values among people of diverse religions. Through participation in this tradition, the people of Huta Padang Village develop mutual respect, openness and empathy, which characterize tolerant characters. This finding is reinforced by functionalism theory, which highlights the role of tradition in maintaining social stability, and social capital theory, which emphasizes the importance of consistent social interaction in strengthening social cohesion. Thus, this study reveals that marsialapari is not just a cultural heritage, but also a strategic tool to maintain social harmony in a multicultural society.

Abstract

This study focuses on discussing the cohesiveness of the Wetu Telu Islamic community in the practice of the esot tanak tradition in Bangket Bayan. Peraktik the tradition of esot tanak is a tradition owned by the Wetu Telu Islamic community for generations. Even though the tradition has been around for a long time, the enthusiasm of the Wetu Telu Islamic community in carrying out the practice of the esot tanak tradition still exists until now. Although the development of the current era is able to shift the habits, especially the traditions of the community, it does not have an impact on the practice of the esot tanak tradition. The researcher uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. As for data collection, the researcher uses three types such as, first, observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of this study show that the cohesiveness of the Wetu Telu Islamic community is formed on the basis of beliefs that have been passed down by their ancestors. The development of the times cannot be an obstacle for the Wetu Telu Islamic community in carrying out the tradition of esot tanak, because the values of their ancestors are always strong in their beliefs. This can be seen from the tradition of esot tanak which based on the beliefs of the Wetu Telu Islamic community is able to make their plants fertile and have an abundant harvest. In carrying out this tradition, it is required for the Wetu Telu Islamic community to always go together caused by the rules of the esot tanak tradition

Abstract

This study aims to explore the conditions of children from broken home families in Janjimatogu Village, Lubuk Barumun Subdistrict, Padang Lawas Regency. Employing a descriptive qualitative research method, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation with three children as primary informants. The findings reveal that broken home families result from several key factors: economic issues, poor communication, and infidelity. These factors significantly impact the mental, psychological, and social conditions of the children involved. Children often experience loneliness, emotional instability, and a lack of motivation to continue their education. Furthermore, inadequate parental care and support lead to feelings of insecurity and the absence of a harmonious family environment. One informant even demonstrated self-harming behaviour due to emotional distress. This study underscores the importance of parental roles in providing guidance, affection, and psychological support to mitigate the negative effects of broken home situations. These findings highlight the urgent need to strengthen family communication and build resilience as preventative and recovery measures.

Abstract

Media framing will consciously or unconsciously select information and accentuate certain aspects to shape public perception of an event. This research aims to analyze the framing of the recitation of the Qur'an in the context of interfaith dialogue, particularly on the occasion of Pope Francis' visit to the Istiqlal Mosque. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, this research examines in depth how the media, in this case Kompas TV, presented the event. The analysis is focused on the perspective of broadcasting law and contemporary Islamic law. The results show that the practice of reciting the Qur'an in the context of interfaith dialogue has great potential in promoting the values of tolerance and pluralism. However, there are different views among scholars regarding the limits of this practice. Legally, although there is no specific regulation, the general principles in the Broadcasting Law provide room for the practice. Meanwhile, from the perspective of Islamic law, there are differences of opinion among scholars regarding the permissibility of this practice. Qur'anic recitation in the context of interfaith dialogue can be an effective means of building better understanding between religious communities. However, it is important to maintain a balance between the spirit of inclusiveness and the prevailing religious principles. This study will identify the common ground and differences in the perspectives of the two legal systems, as well as their implications for the practice of broadcasting Qur'anic recitations in public spaces.

Abstract

Nyadran Sonoageng tradition is a Javanese ritual that combines spiritual values, local culture and Islamic teachings. This study uses a sociocultural approach with communication ethnography method to explore the Nyadran tradition in maintaining social harmony in the midst of changing times. Based on James W. Carey's ritual communication perspective, this study found that symbolic elements such as jolen offerings, processions, and kenduri act as a medium of symbolic communication capable of transmitting collective values. Cross-generational participation in this ritual shows that Nyadran's role as a space to build communication harmony and maintain cultural continuity in a society. The transformation of implementation from simple or traditional to modernization in the implementation of Nyadran, such as the integration of entertainment elements and folk markets, shows the flexibility of tradition in responding to the dynamics of modernization.
