Abstract

Constant Current Regulator is a tool used for regulating the constant of current and the brightness of the visual aids of Airfield Ligtings. Currently there is no practical tool in the Aviation Polytechnics of Surabaya, so it is necessary to design a trainer Constant Current Regulators as a learning media.Therefore, it has been designed a miniature of Consatant Current Regulator using a microcontroller as the main component for controlling the current which is flowing in the load circuit.The measurement results of current sensors will provide data to the microcontroller for consideration if the current is appropriate with the predetermined reference current, if the measured current does not appropriate to the reference current, the microcontroller will control Solid-State Relay which serves as a switch to control current the load.Keywords: constant

Abstract

Winglet is one of the accessories on the aircraft's wing that allows the addition of wing performance without having to widen the wingspan (stretch of the wing). Winglets can be in the form of additional fins that are mounted perpendicular to the wing tips, or can be in the form of extended wings that are bent vertically. The winglet serves to reduce the flow of the vortex at the tip of the wing (tip vortex) caused by the flow of air from the underside of the high-pressure wing to the lower-wing air flow of the lower-pressure wing which results in trailing vortex. The experimental method that will be used in this study is an experimental simulation using a wind tunnel in the Aerodynamic Hangar Lab of Aircraft Engineering Study Program (TPU) at Surabaya Aviation Polytechnic. This specimen is in the form of an Eppler 562 airfoil with a length of 50 cm, and a modified winglet of the Advenced Winglet Forward Fence with a cant angle of 75°, with an angle of attack (angel of attack) 0°, 4°, 10°, 12°, 15°, and 17°. Velocity of freestream is 10 m/s with steady condition. The Re of simulation is = 2,4 x .From the results of the tests that have been carried out, it is found that the aerodynamic performance and the phenomenon of airflow around the airfoil. In the test, there is a difference in the airflow phenomenon behind and on the airfoil body.Keywords: Winglet, Wingspan, Vortex, Tip Vortex, Trailing Vortex

Abstract

Microstrip antenna is an antenna that is widely developed in various applications. Microstrip antennas are very attractive because of their light weight, easy adjustment of shape and low cost. In radio wave communication, an antenna that has good performance is needed: bandwidth, working frequency, VSWR, and good gain. This study aims to design a rectangular patch microstrip antenna with existing antenna parameters, so that it can be used as a learning medium in the air navigation engineering study program. The author conducted an experiment by designing and analyzing the performance of a microstrip antenna with a rectangular patch shape at a frequency of 2.4 GHz using the CST Studio Suite 2018 software and the ADS 2019 software as a simulator. The use of Epoxy FR-4 as a substrate is based on the aim of designing a smaller antenna but it has an impact on lower antenna efficiency and a wide antenna bandwidth. This is because the relative permittivity values and the dielectric thickness are quite large, namely 4.8 and 1.6 mm. The antenna specifications to be designed are obtained from calculations, namely the patch width is 36.70 mm, the patch length is 29.03 mm. The results of simulation work using CST Studio Suite 2018 software and ADS 2019 software show the optimal working frequency at 2,388GHz. Parameters such as return loss, bandwidth, VSWR, and gain in the two simulators are different, the CST Studio Suite 2018 application design is more in line with the expected Long Term Evolution (LTE) antenna specifications.

Abstract

Wings on an airplane have a very large effect on the formation of lift in all parts. From the wingtip area to the wingroot section, everything that happens between these parts will have an effect on the amount of lift produced. The use of vortex generators has a big influence with a small form of modification in the upper surface. The separation delay is an indication of the important things that are produced in its use. With this separation delay, the lift force will be greater and the drag force will be smaller. This is because the flow is better able to withstand friction and adverse pressure gradients. This study examines the flow across the NACA 0012 airfoil with the addition of a vortex generator. The vortex generator profile used is a flat plate vortex generator with a straight configuration and placed at x / c = 10% chord line direction from the leading edge. The variations used are the Reynolds (Re) number and the attack angle (α) on the airfoil. The freestream speed used is the speed of 12 m / s, and at the angle of attack (α) 0o, 3o, 6o, 9o, 12o, 15o, 17o, 19o, and 20o. The parameters evaluated included pressure coefficient (Cp), speed profile, lift coefficient, drag coefficient, and CL/CD ratio. The results of this study indicate that there was an increase in performance of the NACA 0012 airfoil with the addition of a vortex generator compared to without the use of a vortex generator. With the vortex generator more separation can be delayed. In this study also shows that the shape and arrangement of vortex generators play an important role in delaying separation.

Abstract

Air traffic services are services provided with the aim of preventing collisions between aircraft, preventing collisions between aircraft on the manoeuvring area and obstruction on that area and expedite and maintain an orderly flow of air traffic. Communication is the most important tool in achieving the objectives of air traffic services. Especially communication is carried out 2 directions between ground to air and air to ground (two way communication) by Air Traffic Controller officers and pilots. The purpose of this study is to determine interference with Tower and Ground Controllers radio frequency in relation to the provision of air traffic services at Perum LPPNPI Branch of Surabaya. The method used in this study is the method of observation, interviews, dokumentation, then analyzed descriptively qualitatively using the gap analysis method, and literature review. The results of the study show that there is a need for mitigation in dealing with radio frequency interference by making a flowchart to handle radio frequency interference, maintenance of communication equipment and socialization to the public regarding the prohibition on the use of frequencies that radiate on the flight frequency band.

Abstract

Lifted from the problem of puddles on the runway strip surface of Juwata Tarakan International Airport, especially during heavy rains and resulting in overflow of drainage water which can cause damage to the runway strip surface. From this problem arises an impact that can reduce the value of safety and security of airport operational technical standards, therefore an analysis of the design of the runway strip drainage at Juwata Tarakan International Airport is made. The analysis was conducted with the aim of knowing the suitability of the existing dimensions of the runway strip with the existing hydrological analysis. With the 10 yearly rainfall data in the analysis, the results show the existence of conditions (fulfilling or not) Furthermore, after knowing the results of the analysis of the existing design which states the existence of the problem, a new dimension is planned with reference to the hydrological and hydraulic analysis. From the re-design calculation, it is obtained the runway strip drainage dimension with a flow rate of 1.77 m3 / sec and the calculation of its dimensions in the form of a trapezoid with drain depth (d) = 1.1 meters; bottom width (b) = 1 m; peak width (T) = 2 meters; freeboard (W) = 0.5 meter; and drainage slope (z) = 0.5 meter.

Abstract

You Tube about an emergency situation is believed to be the bearer of the technological revolution in relation to pedagogy, which can provide more comfortable access to language input materials, such as hearing, visuals, and other authentic types of resources to promote progress in all four language learning skills namely listening, speaking , reading and writing. Among these skills, for flight communication cadets and air traffic, listening comprehension provides the opening key to access to language mastery. This study examines and analyzes the effects of YouTube video clips on emergency situations as teaching material for flight communication cadets and Surabaya air traffic policing on their hearing comprehension performance. In more detail, this compares the effect of using various amounts of YouTube clips in three experimental groups with those found in a control group where no clips were used. Certain numbers of YouTube video clips about emergency situations - two, four, or six - used for each group represent an attempt to find out how many results were optimized. The subject of his research, 75 cadets of aviation communication and air traffic in Surabaya Polytechnic participated in a fourteen-week experimental study. Pre and post tests and background surveys are used for the control group (0-video) and experimental (2-video, 4-video, and 6 video clips).

Abstract

Airport revenue is consist of two sides , namely from the aeronautical bussiness sides from the non-aeronautical bussiness side, income from the aeronautical bussiness side, among others ; PJP4U, PJP2U, Aviobridge surcharge, check-in counter, and from the non-aeronautical bussiness side, that is ; tenant rent, vehicle parking, concession, advertisement. This two sides is the source of airport revenue, this units are very important to manage the airport revenue so it can improve commercial side of the airport. The PJP2U unit handles issues regarding passenger service and one of them is the PSC (Passenger Service Charge) still use work methods that some use the system but some still use the manual methods, which is one of them by using a hard copy passenger manifest that causes tha stack of manifest papers in the PSC office. And of course this method is not efficient compared to using a system that is integrated with the Airlines. This research was carried out aat the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, in April – June 2018 with PSC unit officers as a population.This study is purposed to determine whether using an integrated system can help and make the work of PSC unit officers more efficient, and as one of the conditions to get the title of Associate Expert (A.Md) in the Diploma III program of Air Tansportation Management, Aviation Polytechnic of Surabaya.The method of data collection in this study uses the method of direct observation in the field, questionnaries, interviews, and literature studies. And the data processing method that will be used is with the help of the Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) program.

Abstract

The aviation services industry in Indonesia has experienced very rapid growth. The more competition in the aviation industry, the more choices of goods or services offered, one of which is to offer the concept of "Low Cost Carrier". Yogyakarta Adisutjipto Airport is a fairly high airport level of service to the flow of passengers and goods. Every year the flow of passengers and goods is increasing but it is not proportional to the number of existing Check-in Counter. It is necessary to calculate the number of Check-in Counters needed to avoid long queues of passengers at check-in so that passengers are satisfied with the service. The research methodology uses quantitative research methods which is a process of finding knowledge that uses data in the form of numbers as a means of analyzing information about what you want to know. Data obtained from direct observation, surveys, questionnaires and literature studies. For the method of analysis using the help of SPSS applications in which there are validity tests, reliability tests, regression tests. The results of this study are that passengers are not satisfied with check-in services at the Domestic Departure Terminal of Adisutjipto International Airport, Yogyakarta because the area of check-in area and the number of check-in counters available cannot serve passengers optimally. The performance of the check-in counter service is not in accordance with the standard that is 0.5 in the category "D" where the level of service and comfort is sufficient, the movement / flow is not stable, delays can be accepted.

Abstract

Lombok International Airport is the premier second-class airport located in Tanak Awu, Pujut, Lombok Tengah, Nusa Tenggara Barat which functions to serve transportation services. Lombok International Airport has runway, apron, and two taxiways along with its drainage. The drainage system is needed to prevent puddles of rainwater in the runway, taxiway and apron that can obstruct the aircraft movement. However, looking at the existing condition of the Lombok International Airport’s trunk, it is necessary to conduct research about trunk reconstruction for the next ten years’ time. The research is begun by collecting data such as existing elevation, existing dimension, slope of existing trunk and rainfall data for the last five years. From these data, an analysis of the rainfall plan is carried out using gumbel distribution method. Furthermore, from the results of the analysis, it is obtained the daily maximum rainfall which is used to know the rainwater runoff debit. Re-planning the dimensions of Lombok International Airport’s trunk is carried out to accommodate rainwater runoff debit for the next ten years since the existing dimensions of the existing trunk cannot accommodate rainwater runoff debit for the next ten years. Therefore, it was obtained the design plan for the reconstruction of each segment with a length of 1,2 meters, width of 1,84 meters and height of 1,77 meters. Re-planning the dimensions of the trunk is in precast concrete.
