Abstract

This research aimed to improve students’ English achievement by developing learning model in English subject for VIII graders of SMP N 1 Uram Jaya through Directed-Project Based Learning (DPjBL) implementation. This study is designed in Research and Development (R & D) using ADDIE model development. Test instrument for finding out the effectiveness of DPjBL and also students English achievement which were then analyzed quantitatively by using T-test. The results showed that DPjBL is effective to use, it is seen from the difference in value between the pretest and post-test of the control class and the experimental class. From the results of a questionnaire filled in general, the students and teachers agreed to DPjBL learning model. The practicality of teacher book got 93. 3 and the practicality of students book got 97.0. It shows that DPjBL is an effective learning model and this learning model can increase the students' English achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the contribution of social support co-workers and social self-concepts together to school counselor burnout conditions. This research uses quantitative method of correlation descriptive type. The population of the research is the State Senior High School counselor of Pekanbaru City. The sample numbered 52 people school counselors were assigned with sampling technique total sampling. The instruments used are the “Burnout Scale” with reliablity 0,976, “Social Support Co-workers Scale” with reliability 0,959, and “Social Self-Concept Scale” with reliablity 0,934. The research data were analyzed using multiple regression. The research findings show that there is contribution of social support of co-workers and social self concept to burnout condition equal to 55.7%. The implications of this research on guidance and counseling will be discussed.

Abstract

The aims of the study; (1) to describe the small and medium industry Darul Ma'rifat roomates Modern Islamic Boarding School of Islamic Boarding School Operate. (2) to describe about the character of students who manage the small and medium industry. (3) Correlation between personality character and self-fulfillment of students. Then, 172 students were the populations. But, only 120 students were a sample of the study. The Data collected by psychological scale (self-fulfillment scale), interviews and documentation of data.. The result: according To Pearson correlation the research got the coefficient correlation r count > r table (0.275> 0.211). It means rijected H0 and Ha has been recieved. So, there were correlation between small-medium industry and self-fulfillment students.

Abstract

Intelligence is one ability to respond successfully to a new situation and the capacity to learn from one’s past experiences. While interest is a strong motivation that drives actionsand determined by personality factors. This study aims to observethe relationship between multiple intelligence and career interests among secondary students. It used correlation methodto identify the relationship between multipleintelligence variables and career interests.All 77 Form Three students were involved in this study. The research instruments used were Multiple Intelligence Inventory and Career Interest Inventory. This data was analysed by using a Pearson statistical correlation type of SPSS Version 23. The finding of this study shows that there isa moderate and significant relationship between multiple intelligence and career interest. This finding also shows that the higher intelligence range, the more congruent personality patterns. This implies the tendency of personality patterns as a predictor of emotional intelligence. Further studyis suggested to usean appropriate and structured intervention in research methodology.

Abstract

Addiction counseling is one of the critical components in substance use disorders (SUD) as it helps individuals to identify problematic behaviours and change them into positive. Sand tray therapy is an approach in the counselling process in order to explore the problems and issues of the client. The purpose of this study is to measure the effectiveness of the sandtray therapy in increasing the motivation towards change among adolescent substance abuse at Cure and Care (CnC), the residential substance abuse treatment facility supervised by the National Anti Drug Agency (AADK) in District of Kota Bharu, state of Kelantan.This was a quantitative research using repeated-measure on pre and post test among 32 adolescent substance abuse. This study employed The Stage of Change and Treatment Eagerness Scale (SOCRATES). Result shows that sandtray therapy approach has been found to increase the motivation among adolescent subtance abuse to change. The discussion of findings, study implication and future direction are also included.

Abstract

The family support system gives an impact among recovering adolescent. The aim of this study is to explore the element of support system among recovering adolescent drug addicts using sandtray therapy approach. This is a case study involving four recovering adolescent at the Clinic Cure & Care Clinic, National Anti-Drug Agency, Kota Bharu, Kelantan. The thematic process was used to analize the process of group sandtray therapy and the arrangement of the miniature in the sandtray. The findings show that recovering adolescent drug addicts need family as a support system, however their families were not functioning in the prevention and recovery process. Besides that, the results show that there are three vital themesof family support system, namely: 1) family issues, 2) family structure and 3) ideal family characteristics.

Abstract

The element of spirituality plays an important role in addiction counselling and recovery of an addict. The purpose of this study was to examine the differences on spirituality level before and after intervention using sandtray therapy. This study was a quasi-experimental repeated-measure design utilizing the Daily Spiritual Experience Scale (DSES). A total of 32 recovering adolescent addicts were involved in six sessions of group counselling at a government-linked drug treatment and rehabilitation facility in Malaysia. The result shows that there was a significant difference in the mean scores for pre- and post-tests. However, there was no significant difference between pre-test and post-test after having the group counselling sandtray intervention (t = -0.538, p <0.05). The discussion of findings, study implication and future direction were also discussed. This study proposes to involve the control group in a follow-up study to examine the differences on the element of spirituality between control group and treatment group.

Abstract

The development of Multilingual Guidance Handbook Based On Edutainment are to conducted to answer the PPK program (Character Building Improvement) launched by the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2017. One of the cocurricular and extracurricular activities applied in the PPK implementation model simulation is language and literature development activities. Character building improvement in this handbook has been developed using the daily activity. Based on the results of the analysis of the needs that have been carried out, this handbook is arranged very in accordance with the conditions of the school. The more basic used by edutainment which is learning to play. This handbook has been developed using the daily activity which is overall summarized in 4 themes namely (1) greeting sentence, (2) my family, (3) body member, (4) school equipment. After testing experts, both material experts and display experts concluded that Multilingual Guidance Handbook Based On Edutainment was a good media category. Furthermore, the test in the field obtained results that Multilingual Guidance Handbook Based On Edutainment received an effective response from students.

Abstract

Learning outcome is a tool to measure the extent to which the students master the material taught by educators. Here, the learning process is a key of success in achieving educational goals. Thus, the students are expected to experience changes in terms of knowledge, skills, values and attitudes. One of the problems faced by educators in conducting effective learning processes in order to improve learning outcomes is how to increase students' interest in that learning material. In order to solve that problem, educators can use role playing learning model.Role Playing model is one of cooperative learning models, this learning model is done by growing the students’ imagination.This study aims at determining whether the role playing learning model can improve learning outcomes and students’ learning activeness in the subjects of learning technology and vocational education strategies. Based on the results of analysis, it was obtained the average score 65.5 before treatmen is given and 84.4 after treatment is given. Here, it can be concluded that the role playing learning model successfully improves student learning outcomes. In addition, the results of students’ activeness testing during the process of lecturing, it was found that Ha 2 is accapted. It means that there was an effect of the application of role playing learning models to student learning activeness

Abstract

Responsibility does not just appear, but is planted and forged by the environment to shape it into a habit. The fact is that at home and abroad the level of student responsibility is still low, especially at the vocational level. To increase the responsibility of learning various efforts have been made, but the results are not as expected. The responsibility of learning becomes an important issue for the attention of the stakeholders. Teacher guidance and counseling is one of the strategic functions that can help students to improve learning responsibilities. Through counseling reality groups are considered capable of increasing learning responsibility. The purpose of reality group counseling is to make individuals responsible, act according to reality, and not violate the rules or norms that apply. The reality group counseling guide is expected to help teachers of Vocational High School 3 Vocational School counseling and counseling in order to be more skillful and train the ability to carry out reality group counseling services.The research and development method in this study uses the Borg and Gall model with ten steps in the study. Ten steps are modified according to existing needs and conditions to: (1) preliminary study, (2) planning, (3) initial product development, (4) expert testing, (5) stage product revision. The test data analysis techniques for experts using Interater agreement The instrument used in this study was an assessment questionnaire and unstructured interview guidelines. While the analysis of user data (guidance counseling teachers) used descriptive statistical analysis.The test results showed that the product was suitable for use by the Vocational School 3 Malang Middle School guidance and counseling teachers to improve student learning responsibilities. Suggestion of utilization by guidance and counseling teacher of State Vocational High School 3 Malang for improving student's learning responsibility. For the next researcher, it is expected to carry out further development related to the product guidelines that have been developed.
