Abstract

The research was due to Indonesian students’ literacy in mathematics was unsatisfying according to Programme for International Student Assessment. The aim of this research is to analyze main necessities which grounded the prominence to develop a learning model. This research belongs to descriptive study. Based on data analyzed, the findings reveal that 1) the teachers’ knowledge about mathematical literacy was low, 2) the learning approach still did not related to the material with the context of students’ daily lives, 3) the average value of students' mathematical literacy was 31.87 be classified into low category, and 4) the assessment instruments was far from the mathematical literacy, 5) realistic mathematics education approach ever developed by researchers in learning mathematics has not been combined with the concept of literacy. Based on these findings, the researcher needs to develop mathematics learning model based on realistic mathematical education and literacy in junior high school.

Abstract

This research was conducted from the student low level toward student problem solving strategies. The student problem solving strategies were affected by interpersonal communication. This research was intended to describe the contribution of the interpersonal communication toward student problem solving strategies. This correlational descriptive research applied quantitative methods. The sample of this research were 240 students of SMA Negeri 2 Pariaman on grade XI and XII, students there were chosen by proportional stratified random sampling technique. The instrument of the research was a questionnaire interpersonal communication inventory and problem solving strategies inventory. The data obtained were analyzed by using descriptive statistic, simple regression. The research findings that the interpersonal communication contributed on toward student problem solving strategies, The implications of the results of this study can be used as advice to School Counselor in providing guidance and counseling services.

Abstract

This research aims to know the difference in the results of learning to read with intensive using the model of the CIRC and learning motivation of GI in grade VII MTs Country Muara Bulian. This type of research was quasi experiment (experiment of the artificial) and design used in this study is a 2 x 2 factorial. This research population is students of Class VII MTs Country Muara Bulian. First, The average reading skills of students who are taught in an intensive learning CIRC. was 81.00, while students taught with model GI was 79.40. Both , the average the learning model CIRC. is 83.25, students learning motivation high taught with model GI was 84.40. Third, the average reading skills of students ' learning motivation low intensive taught by learning model CIRC. was 78.75 and taught with model GI is 74.40.

Abstract

Persuading society to increase national productions is not just an easy evergreen concept. Million of rupiahs spent on advertisement, would not be enough to change society perceptions that imported products are better, which will result in decreasing interest for national productions. Researcher assumes there is a low interest to discuss national productions in qualitative research. Having this assumption as the background, researcher will explain the result of related literatures study about increase in national productions. The results will be discussed by using the theory of qualitative research, by combining several related theory into some grand theories.

Abstract

This article explains about the existence of ‘Reba’ as a culture in the midst of easy and instant modernization, especially in getting information supported by modern technology. So far Bajawa people still maintain and revive 'Reba' so that the culture of 'Reba' still shows its existence in the middle of the current globalization and modernization. ‘Reba’ is an unifying symbol for generations of Bajawa people that cannot be replaced with other cultures because the culture of 'Reba' has history and philosophical value that are only understood by Bajawa people.The culture of 'Reba' is not only for an annual celebration of gratitude, but also as as a venue for family gathering coming from distant places. The end of this article will also explain about moral values of the culture of ‘Reba’ so that ‘Reba’ can be maintained as a celebration of gratitude toward ancestors in the midst of modernization.

Abstract

One effort that can be done to overcome the deterioration of character values is through PJOK education. PJOK learning model was deemed necessary to be developed so that learning can build character values. The preliminary study data were collected by using questionnaires and interviews, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and descriptive analysis. The preliminary study results show that the average test score from 50 students is 60.50 point with five sets of test materials, playing at school 60 point, playing outside of school 50 point, learners participation at play time 40 point, character of awake learners 30 point and problem faced when playing 70. The value of such data can be categorized very low and the authors conclude that it is necessary to design a learing model of sport and health education subject to construct character value of elementary school students. Based on the results of preliminary studies the authors try to design and develop PJOK learning model through playing activities to build student character values. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with procedure is Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE).

Abstract

Many students did not have autonomy in doing the task which teachers give. The research was aimed to describe the quality of students autonomy in doing the school tasks and the students opinion about the quality of information service implementation to improve student autonomy as the realization of the guidance and counseling services function. This research used quantitative method with descriptive statictics. The population were national and private junior high school which is on grade A in Padang City. The samples was 120 students. Data were analyzed by using statictics technique.The result shows that the quality of student autonomy in doing the task and the students opinion about the quality of information service by counselor to develop students autonomy in doing the school task was in high category, and the quality of student autonomy and the quality of the information service in the two school was in significant correlation.

Abstract

The purpose of this research are to reveal social symbols of money, identify the symbolic meaning of money, and explain the social impact of money among boarding students, as well as disclosed by Weber (1978) seeing money is the most perfect means for economic and social transactions. Various studies relating to the meaning of money that has been done previously did not elaborate in depth about it. This researh used mixed method by using interview technique conducted with 79 college boarding house student, boarding owner, societies, local official goverment as informants of this study, the quetionaries shared for 69 of college boarding students and observation. The result of this research: social symbol of money are life style, clothes, community, boarding house, university, hangout, vehicle, food, and crisis month. The symbolic meaning of money are there is money there is friend, there are no problem cannot be solved by money, money is instrument; (money is an instrument to join a community, to have fun, and to doing mobility), money is god, money is a goal, money is life. Positive impact of money are to make easy to do mobility and to fullfil life necessaries. Negatif impacts of money are having fake friend, causing debt, and conflict. Financial management are saving money on ATM, avoiding buyin un-necessary things, deposite to the owner of boarding house, and scheduling remittances.

Abstract

This reasearch is puposed to explain the practicality of whole language based Bahasa Indonesia learning model. The research is administered through the R & D. The practicality testing is conducted at MTsN Gunung Pangilun (MTsN A) 46 students, MTsN Lubuk Buaya (MTsN B) 28 students, and MTsN Parak Lawas 38 students. The result of the research is received through an observation of learning process, practicality assessment by a practitioner and students. Based on the data, the practicality of research product which is conducted to the schools show the difference of practicality marks. At MTsN A and C is considered practical, meanwhile MTsN C is considered very practical. In fact, the degree of practiclity is also influenced by the number of students in a classroom. The practicality of research product after practicality testing of collaborated model, build a cooperative learning so that it increases communicative interaction correlation and respective manner among students.

Abstract

The traditional coastal games of Central Java have their own characteristics that are made and developed according to the cultural characteristics of the people of Central Java. Manufacturer games such as online games, video games began to replace the existence of traditional games, even the traditional game is considered as an ancient game, children prefer to choose a game from the factory that tend not to require physical movement excessive. Whereas if performing a traditional game, the child will need a thorough body movement for rough and smooth motor. For that it takes the understanding that precisely in the presence of motor movements of children or movement by the whole body of the child will provide development not only in the element of social maturity and brain enhancement of children to the fullest. But will be able to control the development of rough and smooth body movement of the children.
