Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of profitability, liquidity, and dividend policy on firm value with capital structure as an intervening variable in consumer cyclicals companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2021-2023. This study uses secondary data obtained from official websites such as www.idx.co.id and www.bi.go.id. The sample consists of 114 companies, selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis techniques include normality tests, multicollinearity tests, autocorrelation tests, heteroskedasticity tests, linearity tests, and path analysis to examine the relationships between variables. The results of the study indicate that in the first simultaneous test (F-test), there is no significant influence between profitability, liquidity, dividend policy, and capital structure on firm value. However, in the second regression, which included capital structure as an intervening variable, it was found that profitability, liquidity, and dividend policy significantly influenced firm value. The t-test results showed that in the first regression, profitability, liquidity, dividend policy, and capital structure did not significantly influence firm value, as the t-statistic values were smaller than the t-table values and the significance values were greater than 0.05. Meanwhile, in the second regression, the variables profitability, liquidity, and dividend policy through capital structure have a significant influence on firm value, with t-statistics greater than the t-table value and significance values less than 0.05. Future research may consider additional variables such as risk management and external factors to deepen understanding of the factors influencing company value in other sectors.

Abstract

The emergence of drone kamikazes as an effective and efficient means of destroying ground targets from the air has been a global concern, especially since Russia's airstrikes on Ukraine in 2022. This technology introduces a new dimension in modern warfare, presenting significant challenges to the defense and security of national airspace. In addition to being effective in destroying targets, the use of  drones is also very efficient in terms of the cost of conducting air operations compared to air campaigns using fighter aircraft. Ultimately, drone kamikaze attacks  also have the potential to be used in asymmetric attacks, including attacks carried out by insurgent in peacetime.   Anticipating this, a new strategic approach is urgently needed to protect national vital objects and secure very important persons (VIPs). The resulting perspective identifies the vulnerability of air defense systems to the swarm tactics and stealth approaches used  by drone kamikazes.  This paper highlights the importance of integrating advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence, radar systems and electronic warfare capabilities to effectively detect, intercept, and neutralize drone kamikaze threats   , especially those of  the fixed-wing drone type  . In addition to the technical aspect, the importance of coordinated collaboration between domestic stakeholders and international cooperation to overcome the proliferation of drone technology  considering that fixed-wing drone technology  can already be produced locally. By adopting a layered air defense strategy, it also offers a holistic approach that includes proactive threat detection, resilient defense systems, and adaptive strategic response and underscores the need for continuous innovation to keep pace with technological developments and drone kamikaze attack tactics  in delivering important insights for policymakers, defense strategists, and security professionals in Plan A strong national air defense framework to reduce the risk of kamikaze drone threats  , especially domestically made fixed-wing kamikaze drones.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of promotion, price discount, and shopping lifestyles on impulse buying among Shopee e-commerce users, with a focus on students at Muhammadiyah University Pontianak. The method used in this study is a causal associative approach. The sample consisted of 100 respondents using purposive sampling. To test the research instruments, validity tests, reliability tests, and classical assumption tests were conducted, including normality tests, linearity tests, and multicollinearity tests. Hypothesis testing was performed using multiple linear regression analysis, correlation coefficients, determination coefficients, simultaneous tests, and partial tests. The results of the multiple linear regression showed the regression equation Y=1.314+0.142X1+0.361X2+0.190X3. The correlation coefficient analysis yielded a value of 0.604, indicating a strong relationship between promotion, price discount, and shopping lifestyle on impulse buying. The coefficient of determination shows a value of 0.365, meaning that 36.5% of the impulse buying variable can be explained by the three variables, while 63.5% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. The simultaneous test results indicate that, simultaneously, promotions, price discounts, and shopping lifestyle significantly influence impulse buying among students at Muhammadiyah Pontianak University. The partial test results show that the variables of promotion, price discount, and shopping lifestyle have a positive and significant influence on impulse buying.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of social media, specifically Instagram, on political participation in Sukabumi City during the 2024 Presidential Election. With the rise of digital platforms, social media has become a pivotal tool for political information dissemination. The objectives of this research include evaluating the frequency of Instagram usage for political information, assessing voter participation levels, and analyzing the impact of Instagram socialization on political engagement. A quantitative research design was employed, utilizing surveys to gather data from 100 respondents selected from Sukabumi City’s registered voters. The results indicate a significant correlation between Instagram usage for political purposes and increased political participation. Specifically, the regression analysis shows that 30.5% of the variation in political participation can be attributed to Instagram use. This study highlights the role of social media in enhancing voter awareness and engagement, with a 4% increase in voter participation from the 2019 to the 2024 election. The findings underscore Instagram’s effectiveness as a medium for political socialization and its positive impact on voter turnout. These results suggest that social media platforms can play a critical role in promoting democratic engagement, particularly in the context of modern electoral campaigns

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Dividend Policy, Risk Management, and Institutional Ownership on Financial Performance, with Capital Structure as a moderating variable. Using a quantitative approach and secondary data from non-cyclical consumer companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange between 2022 and 2024, this study applies moderated regression analysis to test the proposed hypotheses. The model used meets all classical assumptions and is therefore considered appropriate for analysis. The results indicate a very weak relationship between the variables studied, with only 2.7% of financial performance variation explained by the independent variables and their interaction with Capital Structure. Both simultaneous and individual variable tests did not show a significant effect on financial performance. Additionally, Capital Structure does not significantly moderate the relationship between the independent variables and financial performance. These findings suggest that investors and stakeholders should consider additional factors beyond the variables studied to evaluate company performance more comprehensively. Further research is recommended to include broader variables such as operational efficiency, leverage, liquidity, and corporate governance, while using larger and more diverse datasets to improve generalizability and provide deeper insights.

Abstract

Character education is a fundamental aspect of the educational system, aiming to shape individuals who are not only intellectually capable but also morally and spiritually mature. This study seeks to examine how ethical philosophy provides a conceptual foundation for the development of holistic and functional character education. Using a qualitative approach with a literature review method, this research explores the ethical thoughts of prominent figures such as Immanuel Kant, Aristotle, and Ibn Miskawayh in relation to character formation in students. The findings reveal that ethical philosophy offers a rational, normative, and reflective framework for understanding moral values, which are central to character education. Character is positioned as the result of internalizing values through continuous habituation and ethical reflection, rather than merely compliance with normative rules. The integration of three ethical approaches deontological, teleological, and virtue ethics within the educational system results in a learning structure that not only shapes good behavior but also fosters deep moral awareness. Therefore, character education grounded in ethical philosophy is considered capable of addressing contemporary educational challenges and forming individuals who are socially responsible and morally consistent.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of earnings management, debt to equity ratio (DER), firm size, and current ratio on the bond ratings of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The method used is an associative study with logistic regression techniques because the dependent variable is bond rating categories (investment grade and non-investment grade). The research sample consists of 62 industrial sector companies that meet the purposive sampling criteria. The analysis results show that earnings management and DER have a significant influence on bond ratings, with earnings management having the strongest influence. Conversely, firm size and current ratio do not have a significant partial effect on bond ratings. The logistic regression model is deemed fit based on the Hosmer and Lemeshow test (p=0.225), and the simultaneous model fit test indicates that the variables influence bond ratings collectively. The Nagelkerke coefficient of determination of 76.5% indicates that the variation in bond ratings can be explained by the independent variables, while the remainder is influenced by other factors outside the model. These findings emphasize the importance of earnings management and capital structure as key indicators in determining bond rating quality and provide a basis for investors and stakeholders in making more informed investment decisions.
