Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying the problem based learning model on students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning, this study used quantitative research with a pre-experimental type, the design used was the One group pretest posttest design. The population in this study were all Cluster I Kec. Mangala for the 2022/2023 school year. The selection of the sample in this study was carried out using a purposive sampling technique. The data that has been collected will be processed and analyzed using two types of analysis, namely descriptive statistical data analysis and inferential statistical data analysis. To assist in calculating the analysis of descriptive statistical data and inferential statistics, the SPSS application program version 25.0 is used. Based on the results of the study that in the learning process by applying the problem based learning model the teacher's ability to manage learning for 6 meetings was carried out very well, descriptively the application of the problem based learning model affected students' critical thinking skills in social studies subjects and in the learning process with applying the problem-based learning model, the teacher's ability to manage learning is carried out very well. with the results of the study using the one sample test obtained values with tcount = 18.159 ttable = 1.99 then H_0:μ_1≤60 is rejected and H_1:μ_1 60 is accepted in other words for a 95% confidence level average score of participants' critical thinking skills students after applying the problem-based learning model learning is more than 60 so it can be concluded that the application of problem-based learning model learning in meeting the criteria of completeness results in critical thinking skills that is more than 60.

Abstract

The research aims to examine differences in scientific literacy abilities in guided inquiry assisted by interactive multimedia and conventional learning; differences in students' learning motivation in the high and low categories in scientific literacy abilities; interaction of student learning motivation and guided inquiry assisted by interactive multimedia on scientific literacy abilities. The experimental method uses a 2X2 (AXB) design. The population of class V students was sampled using purposive sampling, 2 classes as a control group and an experimental group. Data collection techniques use questionnaires and tests and data analysis uses two-way analysis of variance. It can be concluded that there are differences in the scientific literacy abilities of guided inquiry assisted by interactive multimedia and conventional learning; there is no difference in the learning motivation of students in the high and low categories regarding scientific literacy abilities; and there is an interaction effect of student learning motivation and guided inquiry assisted by interactive multimedia on scientific literacy abilities. Students who have high learning motivation have better scientific literacy skills than students with low learning motivation. The results of this research can be used as material for teachers to consider in implementing learning innovations and alternative solutions to improve students' scientific literacy skills.

Abstract

This article develops a learning model for the visiting students in Bogor Municipality Regional Planning and Development Agency (BAPPEDA). The proposed learning model is developed from a combined Problem-based Learning (PBL) and Outdoor Activity. Four students from a senior high school visited Bappeda from January 2nd 2023 until January 13th 2023. During their visit in Bappeda, students performed series of activities which include document analysis, discussion to decide study location, GIS (Geographic Information System) practice learning, field surveys, and final presentation. From these activities, a learning model was developed according to the PBL and oudoor learning principles.  Three major outcomes are generated from this combined learning model namely, students are able to map the Kampung Lauk using GIS sofware, students can prepare a simple questionnaire to inquire Bappeda employees’ perception about Kampung Lauk and distribute it, and students can identify problems relate to the development of Kampung Lauk and perform final presentation to offer recommendations.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using problem-based learning with Oodlu tools in enhancing the learning of IV students in natural sciences (science and general studies). A quantitative and qualitative approach is used in this research. A learning-based model is used in three learning sessions using Oodlu media to enhance student engagement and enhance learning. A comparative study was conducted with students from the study group (N=15) who received the Oodlu media-based problem-based learning model and the control group (N=15) who received the corresponding learning model. Data analysis showed significant differences in learning outcomes between the two groups. Significant improvements in learning outcomes were demonstrated for science students participating in the problem-based learning model and Audlemedia. The integration ofProblem-Based Learning with Oodlu media has been proven to be effective in improving the intermediate learning outcomes (N-gain test). This confirms This means that the implementation of problem-based learning has a significant impact on the quality of learning of school children.
