Abstract

Technology that is increasingly sophisticated is very influential in human life. Countless types of technology can be found in this modern era. One example of a very popular technology is gadgets. Psychologically, gadgets are easy to create addiction, game facilities that exist in the gadget make children always challenged to reach a higher level. Waste and especially on the eyes that are always used to view gadgets for a long time and without rest can result in asthenopia or tired eyes. Namely, the pupils are slow to react to light, so there is a decrease in visual acuity. The design used in this study is an analytic correlation with cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all 4-5 graders at Mlirip II Elementary School in Mojokerto. The sampling technique is to use total sampling, that is, the entire population is used as a sample, which is 95 respondents. The results of this study are the fit model, namely the model interpreting the influence between duration, frequency and type of gadget on visual acuity. The duration and frequency of gadget usage significantly affect visual acuity. While for this type of gadget is not significant and does not affect visual acuity. If the duration of gadget usage increases, the decrease in visual acuity ratio increases by 5,299 times. If the frequency of gadget usage increases, the ratio of decreased visual acuity increases by 5,986 times. The level of accuracy of the model in this study was 85.3%. Eye disease problems in children can be prevented by early detection to find out the vision status in children supported by eye examination as a measuring instrument, namely snallen card (Snellen card).

Abstract

Rhetoric as a science is the art of speaking that is closely related to the science of nursing. In its application, rhetoric has five laws, namely inventio, dispositio, elocutio, memoria, and pronuntiatio. The correlation of rhetoric with nursing science is seen with the theory of caring in nursing, which is a theory that emphasizes a sense of concern for the client. The relationship between the nurse and the patient is determined by communication. Communication done by nurses to the patient is in need of rhetoric or art of talking, so the message delivered by the nurse can be well received by the patient.

Abstract

Low Birth Weight Babies (LBW) are babies born with a body weight of less or equal to 2,500 grams. High levels of stress on parents, especially mothers and low levels of competency, show that parents (mothers) still have the right knowledge of caring for LBW babies. This situation affects the mother's behavior in caring for the baby. Kangaroo method is one of the rights and correct efforts to care for LBW babies because this method provides benefits to increase the temperature of LBW infants. The purpose of this study was to improve maternal skills in care for low birth weight babies with an experiential learning Care approach. The research method used queasy experimental with pre-post test design. The stages in this study start from collecting data through the mother's pre-test skills in the care of low birth weight babies, then providing midwifery interventions through Kangaroo Mother Care with the approach of Experiential Learning Care I, II and III. Next post-test was carried out; data analysis was done through Wilcoxon test with the results of p = 0.003 <α = 0.05, meaning that there was an increase in maternal skills in the care of LBW infants with the Experiential Learning Care (ELC) method. The results of this study are expected to be a guide for midwives in midwifery interventions for mothers who have LBW babies. Thus, it will be able to provide maternal skills in the care of LBW babies who are right and correct, so that mothers can care for LBW babies at home properly.

Abstract

Introduction: Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is indicator of public health degree. The cause of maternal mortality is postpartum infection. Streptococcus agalactiae bacterium contributes to postpartum infection incidence through vaginal or reproductive organ injury. Infection incidence is characterized with the increased level of leukocyte. The treatment of post-partum infection is done by administering antibiotics. Red sesbania leaves contains active substance that can inhibit the microbial growth. Objective: This research aimed to find out the effect of red sesbania leaves extract administration as antimicrobial agent to decrease leukocyte level in post partum mice (Mus musculus) infected with Streptococcus agalactiae. Method: The method employed was true experimental one with post test control group design, by dividing postpartum mice into 4 groups: one control group and three treatment groups at doses of 125 mg/kgBW, 250 mg/kgBW, and 500 mg/kgBW. All 0-12 hour post partum mice were inoculated with Streptococcus agalactiae bacterium. The administration of 1 ml red sesbania leaves extract in treatment group was conducted 2 hours after the bacterial administration at doses of 125 mg/kgBW, 250 mg/kgBW, and 500 mg/kgBW. Result: The result of analysis shows p < 0.05, indicating that the decrease of leukocyte level in all treatment groups (P1, P2, P3). Conclusion: Red sesbania leaves extract has antimicrobial activity that can reduce leukocyte level, thereby can be used as an alternative therapy to decrease maternal mortality rate due to post-partum infectin. KEYWORDS Red sesbania leaves extract, postpartum mice, leukocyte level, Streptococcus agalactiae.

Life in custody makes space for inmates restricted and isolated from society. Separated from family, long sentences, and negative public stigma often create prisoner stress. Individual coping responses often occur spontaneously and naturally are emotionally focused coping. But often these efforts are not enough to cause an individual effort to fail to reduce stress. This study aims to prove the effect of stress management on decreasing stress level and emotional focused coping of prisoners in Class II B Correctional Institution Mojokerto. In this research the design used is pre experiment with one group pre and post test design approach. A sample of 30 people was taken with simple random sampling. The group is given counseling about stress management. Data collection of prisoner stress using DASS 42 scale with physical, emotional and behavioral indicator with cronbach za sensitivity value 0.756, while emotional focused coping with self-control indicator, distancing, positive reappraisal, accepting responsibility, and escape with value of reactivity coefficient α cronbach 0.837. The influence analysis with the Signed-Rank wilcoxon test showed that stress management was able to decrease the stress level of prisoners with р (0,000) <α (0.05), and stress management was able to decrease the use of emotionally focused coping prisoners with р (0.011) <α (0, 05). inmates at Class II B Correctional Institution B Mojokerto. Several factors affecting the stress of prisoners in Class II B Mojokerto Penitentiary include: the perception of prisoners to the Penitentiary neighborhood, the length of crime that must be lived, the lack of entertainment and activities that can be done in the Penitentiary, the lack of opportunities to meet with the family.

Abstract

Late delivery of breast milk is a common problem in postpartum mothers and may result in early breastfeeding unfulfilled resulting in adverse health effects for both mother and baby. Shiatzu Techniqu is one form of non-pharmacologic therapy to accelerate the expenditure time of breast milk. This study aims to determine the influence of Shiatzu Technique in accelerating the time spent on breastfeeding post partum mother. This research type is quasi experiment with Post Control Only Control With Group Design design, with two groups each consisting of 80 respondents taken with concecutive technique. Data analysis using T-Two Sample Test as comparative test and expenditure time of ASI on control group that did not done shiatzu technique and experiment group performed shitzu technique with α <0.05. The results of the differences from both groups were tested with T-Two Sample Test with the result value ρ = 0.003. The result of the differences from both groups tested with T-Two Sample Test with the result value ρ = 0.003 means there is a significant difference between the control group and the experimental group. In the control group most of the time Breastmilk expenditure was Normal (25-72 hours) whereas in the experimental group its Rapid Breastfeeding (1-24 hours). Faster breastfeeding time in the post partum mothers of the experimental group was due to two interventions given that early Initiation of Breastfeeding was also continued by Shiaztu Technique. Thus, in postoperative mothers with no contraindications, Shiatzu Technque was very effective given to speed up the release of breast milk.
