Abstract

Abstract Introduction: Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the global public health challenges that has long been known and is still a health problem in various countries in the world. Non-compliance with taking medication arises due to several factors including lack of motivation among families to carry out the role of the family in providing assistance in compliance with taking medication for family members suffering from pulmonary TB. The impact of the lack of family role on compliance with taking medication in members of patients suffering from pulmonary TB is that the death rate continues to increase and the emergence of drug resistance, as well as the occurrence of relapses so that they must undergo second-line treatment. The purpose of this literature review is to analyze publications related to the role of the family in compliance with taking medication for patients with pulmonary TB. Method: The design of this study is a literature review using the inclusion exclusion method with the PECOS format. The search method in this study uses the Google Scholar and Pubmed databases in an empirical study in the last 10 years as many as 6 journals that are in accordance with the study. Analysis results: show that family support plays a very important role in maintaining patient compliance in taking their medication. Conclusion: Based on the reviewed journals, the six journals show that there is a role for the family in compliance with taking medication in pulmonary TB patients, therefore success in treating pulmonary TB requires support from both motivation, supervision, and family education to patients with routine treatment of taking OAT. Abstract

ABSTRACTJahe emprit (Zingiber officinale var. amarum) is a variety of ginger that contains secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, and tannins, which have potential as raw materials in pharmaceutical formulations and herbal products. This study aims to evaluate the phytochemical and physicochemical quality of jahe emprit and identify its potential as a raw material for pharmaceutical preparations. The research was conducted using a maceration method with 70% ethanol as a solvent, followed by non-specific quality tests (moisture content, ash content, and yield) and specific tests (phytochemical screening). The process of making the extract powder was carried out using a drying method with Avicel pH 101 as a carrier agent. The results showed that the jahe emprit extract met quality parameters according to the standards. Phytochemical testing confirmed the presence of flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, and tannins, which support its potential as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial agent. The resulting dry extract powder exhibited good flow properties and stability of bioactive compounds, making it suitable for pharmaceutical applications. The conclusion of this study is that jahe emprit has phytochemical and physicochemical qualities that meet the criteria for high-quality herbal raw materials. It is recommended that further research focus on clinical testing and the development of jahe emprit-based product formulations to enhance its added value in the pharmaceutical and herbal industries. Keywords: Jahe emprit; Zingiber officinale var. amarum; phytochemistry; pharmaceutical formulation.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The problem of students who live in dormitories often experience itching due to the transmission of scabies disease caused by the Sarcoptes scabiei mite, poor sanitation environments, such as hanging dirty clothes and bedding which serve as preferred living habitat other than in human skin. Scabies mites can survive 2-3 days in the external environment of the body, especially on fabrics such as clothes, towels, and mattresses. The personal hygiene of students and the habits of students do not apply Clean and Healthy Living Behavior, such as the habit of littering. Toilets are poorly maintained and do not wash their hands when consuming snacks; even allowing clogged drains can cause puddles at risk of falling due to slippery floors causing accidents for students, even though the management of the boarding school has given directions and appeals to students, but the application is still low. The method of implementing training activities is carried out by means of active interaction, active discussion, and role play with students and direct practice of waste treatment using a modified model of photochemical technology and a rapid sand filter. Increasing the understanding of students managerially using the herbal game traffic method approach is expected to be able to increase awareness and sensitivity in solving these problems. The results of the analysis of students' knowledge can understand that the cleanliness of clothes, towels, and tools can affect the transmission of scabies. The level of understanding of students is 0.43%. In PKM training activities, there are 98% of students who have increased their understanding of healthy and nutritious nutrition and can be developed in Islamic boarding schools as healthy snacks, while the practice of herbal games is still a model for problem recognition, and herbal solutions are said to be rarely applied by 40% to prevent scabies, both using herbal preparations and the application of clean and healthy living behaviors. Abstract

Abstract The government policy of nationwide school closure to minimize the spreading of COVID-19 has affected over 80 million students in Indonesia. Understanding their emotions is essential because of their vulnerability, but it is still lacking in Indonesia. This study aimed to investigate emotional symptoms among children during learning at home. A cross-sectional online survey of 102 parents with children aged 6-18 years and their children who are learning at home. The survey was conducted in February 2021 in East Java province, Indonesia. Demographic information, emotional symptoms, and level of knowledge were assessed with a Strengths and Difficulty Questionnaire (SDQ). This research showed the rate of emotional problems among children is low and there is no relationship between the children’s age, education level, and knowledge level with the emotional symptoms in children (p > 0,05). The abnormal emotional symptoms are higher in middle school compared to other level schools and also higher in children aged 13-18 years old compared to 6-12 years old. The rate of emotional problems among children 6-18 years old is low, but this is essential to investigate because children are one of the vulnerable groups and older students are more likely to experience emotional symptoms. Abstract

Background: Proper wheelchair fit is essential to ensure comfort, postural stability, and to prevent secondary health complications in individuals with disabilities. In community-based programs, mismatches between wheelchair dimensions and users' anthropometric characteristics often go unnoticed, potentially leading to long-term issues. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the alignment between users’ body dimensions and the wheelchairs distributed through a community-based program in Malang, and to examine the potential ergonomic and clinical implications of mismatched fit. Methods: A descriptive quantitative design was employed, involving 20 full-time wheelchair users selected purposively. Anthropometric measurements (seated height, popliteal length, hip width, elbow height) and wheelchair dimensions (seat height, seat depth, seat width, backrest height, armrest height) were directly measured. Normality was tested using the Shapiro–Wilk test, followed by Pearson correlation analysis. Outliers were identified using z-score thresholds. Results: Significant positive correlations were found between seat height and armrest height (r = 0.65, p < 0.01), and between backrest height and seat width (r = 0.58, p < 0.05). No correlation was found involving seat depth. Two participants showed notable mismatches requiring individual adjustments, highlighting risks such as discomfort, postural imbalance, and mobility limitation. Conclusion: Mismatch between wheelchair dimensions and user anthropometry can contribute to preventable discomfort and postural strain. Personalized assessments and ergonomic adjustments are crucial in community wheelchair programs. These findings support the implementation of anthropometric-based distribution strategies and training for service providers.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: PONV is common after cesarean section using ERACS protocol. Motion-related PONV during early mobilization can impair comfort and delay recovery. Anticholinergic agents such as atropine sulphate have antiemetic effects via muscarinic receptor antagonism, especially when vestibular pathways are involved, but their intravenous use for motion-related PONV prevention remains underexplored. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of intravenous atropine sulphate in reducing motion-related PONV within two hours postoperatively in patients undergoing cesarean section. Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional analysis was carried out involving 30 patients at a private hospital in Sidoarjo, Indonesia (May–June 2025). Patients were assigned to either control (no atropine) or treatment (0.5 mg atropine IV after cord clamping). The primary outcome was a combined PONV score: (1) vomiting episodes ≥ 1, (2) moderate-to-severe nausea/vomiting (VAS > 4), and (3) rescue antiemetic use. Secondary outcomes included atropine-related adverse effects. Results: The treatment group had significantly lower mean combined PONV scores (p < 0.001), fewer vomiting episodes (p = 0.035), less moderate-to-severe nausea (p = 0.002), and borderline reduced rescue antiemetic use (p = 0.05). No significant adverse effects were observed. Conclusion: IV atropine sulphate 0.5 mg after cord clamping effectively reduces motion-related PONV in ERACS cesarean patients without notable side effects. Keywords: atropine sulphate, cesarean section, ERACS, PONV vestibular pathway.
