Abstract

Repellent is a material that has the ability to protect humans from mosquito bites. Repellent have contains active ingredients that can interrupt mosquitoes ability to find their host. Essensial oil of frangipani flower contains has active materials, such as geraniol, linalool and sitronelol. This study aimed to determine the ability of frangipani oil as repellent to prevent bites of Aedes aegypti. This repellent activity was conducted with inserting the hand alternately between treatment and control into test cage repellent each containing 50 mosquitoes. It was about 3 hours treatment with observation for 5 minutes at each intervals of 1 hour. The oil concentration used were 1%, 3%, 6%, 12,5% and 25% with DEET 13 % as a positive control and distilled water as negative control. The Observation data was any concentration of power protection essential oil. Analysis of the data has been using by one – way ANOVA test (p= 0,000), followed by a different average Tukey HSD with α = 0,05 (p= 0,000). Effective dose value (ED50) for protection against Aedes aegypti by 50% was calculated by probit analysis. The result of this study was the frangipani oil has a potential effect as repellent to Aedes aegypti with ED50 of 1,3357%. The higher concentration will increase the potential repellent, where as the longer it will reduce the potential repellent treatment.

Abstract

Anaphylactic reactions is caused by repeated exposure to the same allergen mediated by specific IgE attached to mast cell and basophils wall. The administration of Phyllantus niruri L. and Nigella sativa L. have function as antiinflamation and immunomodulator. The study was purposed to prove the effect of ethanol extract of Phyllantus herbs and black seeds as inhibitors of active cutaneous anaphylactic. This study used 25 rats. Allergic rats was induced by ovalbumin (OVA) 0,1% and 0,25% in Al(OH)31% subcutaneously. Rats were divided into 5 groups : CMCNa 0,5% (negative control), sodium cromolyn 2 mg/kg BB (positive control), a single dose of Phyllantus herbs 81 mg/kg BB, a single dose of black seeds 30 mg/kg BB, the combination dose of Phyllantus herbs and black seeds (40,5:15 mg/kg BB). On the days 21th, backs rats were shaved 2,5 x 4 cm, and it were injected by evans blue 1,5%. The analyzed data was the blue pigmented areas. The result showed that treatment groups was differed significantly the negative and positive control group (p<0,05). The combination of ethanol extract phyllantus herbs and black seeds provide the most effective barrier anaphylaxis because it’s ability to inhibit the activation of mast cell adequately.

Abstract

Lisinopril is an oral angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) long acting, based on the characteristics of biopharmaceutics, lisinopril has a high solubility, but low permeability, this causes limitations in bioavaibility. The composition of lisinopril tablets wre calcium hydrogen phosphat anhydrous and mannitol as a filler, poly vinyl pyrrolidone K 30 as binder, cros carmellose sodium as a desintegrator, edicol rasbery red as a collor, Vitamin E TPGS NF (d-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate) as enhancers of absorption / permeability with various concentrations, silicon dioxide colloidal, talc and magnesium stearate as glidant and antiadherent, aquadest and alcohol 95% as wetting agent. The study used wet granulation method. Test was done for the granule and tablet tested, including the comparative dissolution test with the innovator product. The result showed that the granule and the tablet were met the requirements. Vitamin E TPGS 1000 NF wasn’t affect to the comparative dissolution test result between the tablet product and the innovator product.

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition in which an individual develops above normal blood pressure, when systolic blood pressure exceeds 140 mmHg and diastolic exceeds 90 mmHg. Hypertension becomes health problem in the world. Dewandaru leaves contained flavonoid, saponin and tannin. This research aimed to find out the antihypertensive activity of dewandaru leaves ethanol extract and to find out the most optimum dose of dewandaru ethanol extract (Eugenia uniflora L.). Dewandaru leaves ethanol extract was obtained through extraction using maceration method and using ethanol 96% solvent. This study employed 25 male white rats divided into 5 groups: groups I (control with kontrol negatif, II (control with captopril), III (ethanol extract at 0.3 mg/200 gBW dose), IV (ethanol extract at 0.6 mg/200 g BW dose), V (ethanol extracts at 1.2 mg/200 g BW dose). The tested animal was made hypertensive with adrenaline induction intraperitoneally. The blood pressure measurement was conducted on the week-3 using blood pressure analyzed. The analysis used in this research was ANOVA with Dunnet T3 advanced test. From the result of research, it could be found that all doses of dewandaru leaves ethanol extract had antihypertensive activity. Dose 1.2 mg/200 g BW had effect equivalent to captopril’s.

Abstract

Nifedipin is a calcium chanel blocker has been used for hypertension treatment. Nifedipin has a short half-life (2-4 hours), and perfectly absorb in stomach. These characteristics indicate a good candidate for mucoadhesive formulation. This research aimed to optimize and determine the influence of the Carbopol 940 and HPMC K15M proportion on the physical properties of the tablet and the drug release. Tablets preparation using dry granulation method was carried out using difference proportion of HPMC K15M (A) and Carbopol 940 (B) for each formula i.e. 0% A: 100% B 940, 25% A: 75% B, 50% A: 50% B, 75% A: 25% B and 100% A: 0% B. The weighting of each tablet 250 mg with nifedipin 20 mg per tablet. Mucoadhesive strength was determined using rabbit gastric and the drug release using buffer chloride addition by 0.5% sodium lauryl sulfate pH 1.2 for 6 hours. Optimum formula was analyzed using simplex lattice design method. The results showed that increasing proportion of Carbopol 940 increased the tablet hardness and mucoadhesive strength and increasing the proportion of HPMC K15M reduced the drug release. Optimum formula was obtained at proportion of HPMC K15M 30,610 mg and Carbopol 940 mg 19,390 mgKeywords : Nifedipin, mucoadhesive, HPMC K15M, Carbopol 940.

Abstract

Mole crab is the coastal of biological resources are spreading quite extensive and has a high nutrient content, especially omega-3 fatty acids are good for memory. Omega-3 fatty acids consist of linolenic acid, EPA, and DHA. Mole crab is processed into a granule and instant baby puree with a variety of cooking and processing. This study aims to compare the levels of omega-3 content of granule and puree that has been cooked with mole crab raw without cooking. Mole crab that was acquired, cleaned and dried and then processed into mole crab raw, the roasted dried granule, the granule sun dried, instant puree with the addition of a mole crab, and the instant puree without addition of mole crab (placebo). Samples are extracted using soxhlet with solvents chloroform:methanol (2:1). Analysis using gas chromatography with Nitrogen gas as phases of motion. The content of omega-3 was calculated based on the relative percent and analyzed by Shapiro wilk test for normality test. The result of the experiment showed that total content of omega (linolenic acid, EPA, and DHA) extract of mole crab raw was 44,416 g/100 g, extract of granuleroasted was 52,280 g/100 g, extract of granule-sundried was 29,489 g/100 g, extract of mole crabpuree and extract of puree as a placebo was not detected of omega-3.

Abstract

Hypertension is a trigger factor of chronic kidney disease. This disease requires a special incentive treatment in geriatrics patient.The complexity of therapy forcing the use of polypharmachy teraphy. Evaluation needs to be done with the aim of knowing description the typeof antihypertensive drugs used and the quantity of its use based methods Defined Daily Dose (DDD) and suitability compared with Standar Pelayanan Medis (SPM) and the JNC 7. This study was a descriptive study with retrospective data collection. The sample was medical record data regarding the use of antihypertensive drugs in hypertension with chronic renal failure in geriatric patients (age≥ 60) hospitalization. The data collected includes classes and antihypertensive drug name, strength, frequency, duration of usage, length of stay. Then the data to be processed to determine the quantity of drug use in the ambulatory DDD and Drug Utilization (DU 90 %). The results of this study concluded that antihypertensive drugs included in the DU 90 % segment in 2012 were amlodipine (39.19%), furosemide (24.14%), captopril (14.14%), telmisartan (11.36%), valsartan (2.04%), and in 2013 were amlodipine (35.11%), furosemide (22.88%), captopril (18.80%), telmisartan (7.02%), valsartan (6.51%). Suitability based on SPM in 2012 (78.57%) and in 2013 (63.63%) and by the JNC 7 in 2012 (42.85) and 2013 (36,36%). There was no change in the pattern of use of antihypertensive drugs between 2012 and 2013.

Abstract

Diabetic ulcer is an open wound on the surface of the skin caused by macroangiopati so insufisiensi and vascular neuropathy, diabetic ulcer, if not immediately get treatment and care, it will be easy to make the infection extends and immediately in case of any further action requiredamputation. The purpose of this study was to isolate Klebsiella sp. isolation of sufferers of diabetes ulcer purulence inpatients in RSUD Dr. Moewardi and knowing the pattern of sensitivity antibiotics gentamicin, seftriakson, meropenem, ciprofloxacin and against bacteria Klebsiella sp. in February-March 2014. Purulence samples obtained was isolated on media Mac Conkey, continued staining grams and biochemistry test. Antibiotic sensitivity test refers to the standard Kirby Bauer, to analyze the data using Oneway ANOVA. The study is done against 30 samples purulence patients ulcer diabetes in RSUD Dr. Moewardi February-March 2014, 18 positive samples containing Klebsiella sp. and 12 negative samples Klebsiella sp. antibiotic meropenem 100% sensitive, sensitive 100% ciprofloxacin, gentamicin resistant 96,29% and 3,71% intermediate, seftriakson 94,50% resistant and 5,50% moderately suspectible.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolism disorders which is characteristic by the blood glucosa levels. Kombucha tea is a fermented product of sweet tea due o activity of yeast and bacteria.The research was aimed to determine the influence of various kombucha fermentation time on the decrease of glucose level in white male rats wistar. The tested animal is were inducted with aloksan and arranged into groups. Each group consisted of 5 white male rats. Group I as negative control was treated by aquadest. Group II, III dan IV were treated by 5,5 ml of 4, 8 and 12 days-fermentation kombucha tea, respectively. Group V, as positive control was treated by glibenclamide at 0,09 mg/200 g BB. The treatments were conducted for two weeks. Each group was observed for glucose levels an the firstand second week. The results were analyzed using one way ANOVA. The result showed that tea kombucha is able to decreaseglucose levels and the 12 days fermented kombucha tea has ability to decrease glucose levels better than 4 and 8 days fermented tea kombucha.

Abstract

Pineapple has a peel that contains bromelain enzyme which is useful as platelet antiagregation. This study was aimed to determine the effect of pineapple peel dried juice on bleeding and clotting time extention, and to know the most effective dose in prolonging bleeding time and blood clotting. This study includes the determination of plants, drying of pineapple peel, the identification of the chemical contents, and test of bleeding and clotting time. This study used 5 treatment groups. The group was divided into treatment groups with pineapple peel dried juice variation dose of 28 mg/200 g BW, 56 mg/200 g BW, and 112 mg/200 g BW, positive control group (acetosal 3.7 mg/200 g BW), and negative control group (distilled water). The identification results showed chemical constituents of bromelain enzyme compounds, flavonoids, and saponins. The test results showed that platelets antiagregation freeze drying product from pineapple peel dried juice which was administered orally could prolong the bleeding time and blood clotting on white male rats. Pineapple peel dried juice with a dose of 112 mg/200 g BW gave the best effect to the extension of bleeding and clotting time with an average increase in bleeding time of 150seconds and an increase in clotting time of 105 seconds.
